Started off with the beef tartare which was nicely done although I wish there was a little bit more tartare. Cacio e Pepe was very creamy and delicious Also ordered a prawns delicious that had an amazing sauce but the meat stuck to the shells too much and was annoying. BISTECCA alla FIORENTINA: Was excellent and perfectly cooked. Bread was ok. Service was bad though. Our server was nice but very forgetful. Forgot lemons and limes when we asked for them twice, forgot to offer us bread and it showed up after the entire meal was done (and she even charged for them), our birthday person was getting a small gift from the kitchen that our server apparently didn't know about and we were halfway out the door before she came to get us to come back. I'll start with the good: beef tartar was excellent but other restaurants have caught up. Octopus was good. Bistecca was great. Prawns were ok, would probably skip. Cacio pepe was good but very small portion. For the service, it was disappointing. The server was friendly but forgetful. Had to ask for items twice on several occasions. I was also there to celebrate a birthday and the server stopped me and my family from leaving the restaurant before letting us know that the kitchen has a small birthday item for me. I can't tell if she was forgetful or just miscommunication from the m kitchen. But not something I'd expect from a restaurant where their sister location has a Michelin star. read more

I planned to celebrate my birthday at Giulietta's sister restaurant Osteria Giulia, but my husband accidentally booked their sister restaurant, so we ended up trying Giulietta. The ambiance and decoration were nice with average service. Food was mediocre with hits and misses, definitely overpriced for its quality. The chef here was missing some basic temperature control skills. We ordered octopus, burrata, swordfish and radicchio salad for appetizers. For mains, we ordered the sea bream and the pork and a side of crispy potatoes. For dessert, we had the orange sponge cake. Among all dishes, my favourite included the burrata with grapes, the swordfish which was super refreshing and fresh, the flavourful crispy potatoes and the orange sponge cake which had a balanced sweetness level. The pork was average, a bit dry. All other dishes had some misses and not worth the price. A common problem of a lot of dishes were they were too bitter, either resulted from vegetables in salad being undercooked or sea bream and octopus being way overcooked. It was not acceptable with half of the dish not at quality when you spend $100+ per person. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant overall. read more

Had an amazing meal at Giuletta! As a big fan of the sister restaurant, Osteria Giulia, I had high hopes and Giuletta did not disappoint! For the two of us, we ordered three appetizers and two mains: 1. TRIPPA alla ROMANA - the tripe was perfectly cooked and tasted just like the one I had in Rome many years ago (which I have been thinking about since then)! We thought this was the star of the meal and would come back to Giuletta just for this dish. 2. GIOELLA BURRATA con UVA - buratta with grilled grapes; this dish seems to be one of their more popular ones as it seemed most tables around us ordered this. The grapes were really good and were nice and warm, however the burrata itself was just ok - I wish it was a bit softer, as it was a little bit more dense than I was expecting. 3. CARCIOFI alla GIUDIA - fried artichokes with aioli on the side- this was super good as well, and very light. Its not that filling since its so light but still worth ordering. 4. PAPPARDELLE al RAGU - the texture of the pasta was perfect and the flavour was great as well. RISOTTO all' ARAGOSTA - this was just okay, there is a lot of lobster in it but the flavour is really strong. It was good as we shared all the dishes, but I can see myself struggling to finish it all by myself. Overall, had a great meal and would definitely recommend! My husband and I ate a variety of plates, with the calamari, burrata and gnocchi covered in black truffles being the biggest standouts. We also tried the crispy potatoes, brussel sprouts, salad and tiramisu. Service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very busy, and reservations can be made two weeks prior starting at midnight. The decor is modern, muted and streamlined, with wood tables and booths and light colored walls. I have been to the sister restaurant, Osteria Giulia, for a few times already. This time, I am glad to try Giulietta. We ordered the 30oz steak and lobster risotto and finished off with canoli (special dessert of the New Years Eve). The steak is not bad, but definitely not the best, I would say average. The lobster risotto is the highlight of the night. It has chunks of lobster meats, risotto is one of the best I have so far. Came on a weekday evening as a party of 8. For groups this size, we could only opt for the family-style menu which included set dishes for each course. Upon entry, the waiters offered to take our coats and hang them at the back. They took our drink orders while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. To start, we were served radicchio salad, burrata, and a cheese and salami platter. The burrata was creamy and delightful, but the salad was too bitter for my taste. The cheese and salami were just average. For our first main, we had pappardelle with oxtail ragu and cacio e pepe. Both were quite al dente while I typically prefer my pasta a bit softer, but the flavours were good. Our next course consisted of branzino and iberico pork chop. The branzino was tasty, while the iberico pork was the highlight of the night! The meat melted in your melt and is the equivalent of wagyu for pork. We were also served broccolini and fried potatoes as sides that paired nicely with the mains. Finally, for dessert we were served torta with mascarpone and a lemon meringue. Again, alright but nothing special. For $110 per guest, it's a nice way to sample a bit of everything, but I'm not sure the number of dishes we were served made up for the $880 price tag. We wanted to check out Giulietta since it was noted by the Michelin guide but heard booking resos at Giulietta are a challenge and for a Valentine's Day dinner I had to be diligent! Online resos are available rolling 14 days in advance at midnight via OpenTable. FOOD (4.5/5) We ordered the Beef Tartare (Tartare di manzo) as a starter with Prawn Risotto (Risotto ai gamberi) and Butternut Squash Pasta (Agnolotti di zucca). Highly recommend the beef tartare! It is served with shaved truffle, egg yolk, and grilled sourdough. Rich flavours, truffle adds levity, and the sourdough is a great palate cleanser. The prawn risotto is super rich in seafood broth and has a few shrimp chunks mixed in with the risotto. It comes with two grilled prawns which has a strong shrimpy aroma as it is served which could be a bit offputting if not used to. Dish was great but could've benefited with some acidity like a pickled pepper or lemon juice. The butternut squash pasta are similar to ravoilis stuffed with a sweet squash puree. Simple flavours, good vegetarian option but portions were a bit too small. For dessert we had the house classic tiramisu which is served in a glass and has a prominent rum flavour although not too overpowering. Classic dessert done well but not too surprisingly amazing. DRINKS (4.5/5) We had two glasses of prosecco which tasted standard and was offered a sample taste before the pour which is uncommon for bubbles but was appreciated. SERVICE (3.5/5) For a refined casual dining spot I expected more amicable service but it felt a bit snooty as in we were a bit rushed and it didn't feel 100% welcoming. VALUE (2.5/5) Portion size seems to be a weakness for the price the dishes are. We walked away still feeling hungry after a shared app, individual entrees and a shared dessert. AMBIENCE (5/5) Really nicely furnished and open dining space with mildly dim lighting that made the restaurant feel warm and modern. ACCESSIBILITY (3.5/5) Located a little west of Ossington and College, it is accessible via the College streetcar, albeit with incredible unreliable streetcar service. We had to loop up to Line 2 and bus from Ossington station. Street parking is available on College but limited as is everywhere downtown. OVERALL (4/5) Our overall experience at Giulietta includes well prepared, tasty, and fresh food in a modern psuedo fine dining ambience. Understandably the Michelin guide has noted Giulietta two years in a row. We felt that the portion size was a huge downfall of our experience considering the price of the final bill. Additionally, the (mild) headache of fighting for reservation slots at midnight 2 weeks in advance didn't feel completely worth it. Special occasion & delicious! You may or may not know about how hard it is to book Giuletta. Two week in advance at midnight is when you need to book your reservation. I was able to snag a time slot but seating was only available at the bar (which was the best experience!). I can only image this place getting busier and harder to book since it's on the Michelin star recommended guide now. Came here for a special occasion, and was not disappointed! It's a more casual restaurant so no need to dress too fancy! I loved seeing the bartender making our drinks in front of us! Drinks were also great - especially impressed with the ice shaving skills and beautifully shaped ice for every drink. Food was absolutely delicious: Polpo e Fagioli (octopus) 10/10 - Loved the smokey octopus flavour. Wasn't the biggest fan of the white beans it came with though. Olive all' Ascolana (sausage meatball with olives)10/10 - It's a sausage meatball with olives and parm. This is a must get. Something about this deep fried meatball was so juicy and salted perfectly. Tagliolini alla Bolognese (meat ragu pasta) 10/10 - Perfect al dente pasta with a delicious meat sauce - YUM. I would've liked it with more sauce though but still good! L'Amenta (sopressata pizza) 10/10 - Loved this. Perfectly balanced pizza with sauce, crust and toppings. A pro tip, if you love spicy and sweet pizzas, ask them for some honey and chili oil. I've been to many italian restaurants and this is in our top 3! Would strongly recommend coming here instead of some other places you'll see in articles. Ambiance: very clean, modern, and romantic. The front end was a bit more quiet and romantic while the back side was more lively since you could sit at the chefs table and see them cook. Service: Our server was so adorable and super nice. She recommended her favorites / fan favorites and we ended up going with a few which ended up being great recommendations! Food: The drinks here were so good! The gnocchi pasta was soooo delicious!!! there was a bit of crunch with each bite which was a surprise - turns out there's small pieces of breadcrumbs in it (yum!). The pizza we got was basically a margarita but with spicy sausage crumbles. This was to die for!!! But the burrata?!? Wow. It had roasted grapes on a vine with a sourdough underneath it. 3.5 I had heard a lot about Giulietta and wanted to try it out. Was able to get a Saturday night reservation for 3 and jumped at the opportunity. We ordered 2 apps, 2 pastas, 1 pizza and 1 dessert. This was definitely enough for 3 people. The 2 apps ordered was the tuna and the buratta - tuna was good, but the buratta was the star. For the pastas we got the ravioli and the cacio el pepe - ravioli was delicious! This was my favourite dish of the evening. Cacio el pepe was not that good - cheese was over powering and nothing particularly special. The pizza was nice and fresh - definitely tasted the quality here. Giuletta definitely lives up to its name! This restaurant was on the Michelin Guide, which is what brought me to try the restaurant. It is well-deserving of its spot on that list. The service here is on the next level. Once we entered and were seated, our coats were taken and hung up. While dining, the servers are constantly checking up on how you are doing. I would take two sips of water and our cups would already be refilled! Although some might find that a bit too much, i appreciate their attentiveness. This is probably some of the best Italian food I've had in Toronto! They had a small mocktail selection, so we ended up going with two of them (I forget which, but both were quite unique and delicious). We started with the Calamari Fritti, which was beautifully crisp and not chewy at all. The lemon aioli that came with it paired great with the calamari. My only wish was that it was a bigger serving! We also ordered the L'Amentea pizza. The sauce had a good amount of acidity, and the crust was nice and puffy. A good pizza, however, probably not the best that I've ever had. The Agnolotti di Zucca (butternut squash ravioli) and the Branzino alla Griglia were TOP TIER. The brown butter sauce on the ravioli was to die for, and the branzino was literally melting on my mouth. I still think about the branzino from time to time again. I need to know the recipe! We also ordered the Insalata Contadina (gem lettuce salad with lemon vinaigrette), and now I plan on growing gem lettuce next growing season. It was so wonderfully crisp, and for a salad it was the most memorable salad I've had. For dessert, we had the house-made chocolate gelato and the chocolate mousse dessert. I'm not much of a chocolate person, but I enjoyed both. The mousse dessert had some kind of cracker/cookie on the bottom to balance out the soft mousse texture. The chocolate gelato had some crunchy pieces (might have been salt crystals or ice crystals) that were pleasant. At the end of our meal, our server gave us a small gift, a little hot chocolate bomb! We went near the holidays so it might have been because of that, but it was still a nice gesture! Overall, this is one of the best spots for high-end Italian. Wow! Let me first start off with a mention of the excellent service. Jessie and the male bartender (glasses/buzz cut with a short mohawk) helped set a solid tone for this first time visit. They were attentive, knowledgeable and worked well with the entire team to create a solid experience for us visiting from NY. Had a reservation at the bar and it was fantastic. Gave us an opportunity to chat with Jessie so she can help us learn about the menu, restaurant history and wide range of tasty offerings. Although we didn't get anything particularly listed from the drink menu, we had a taste preferences and the bartender took it and ran with it. Was brilliant how he curated drinks based on our interest. I've only seen that kind of talent in NY bars with the most talented mixologist. Giulieta - you have two gems in these two! The food was great. I've never had octopus before but the was this particular dish was chargrilled to perfection and was complimented by a taste salsa verde which amplified the flavor. I hear they have a sister location that is more upscale and will surely try. But to stick to this one - the food, the service, the execution, the overall vibe is all a level up. The seating from main floor to the bar to the chefs table is all inviting. Went here for a special friend's birthday dinner and from the moment I walked into the restaurant I was greeted enthusiastically and seated promptly. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. All questions regarding the menu and wine pairings were answered and honestly helped to make an overall amazing meal with the perfect wine to accompany our meal. The food is exceptional I had not a single complaint the entire meal, the portions are generous and the flavours are out of this world. They definitely have earned their Michelin rating! I don't think I've ever had a better grilled octopus in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. The pasta had me wanting to order another to take home for later despite being stuffed. I was a little hesitant about the grapes being paired with the burrata but was quickly put at ease the moment I tried it, it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic which I loved for a cute and intimate birthday celebration. Overall I gave this a 3 stars because 65% of the food was not good on our set 8 course meal for $85/person. Let me explain why: THE PROS: 1. The customer service was great! the girl we had was absolutely amazing couldn't have asked for a better server but because I am a foodie my rating depends more on the food than just the service so it definitely deserved some stars for our great waitress. 2. The medium rare pork with black peppercorn sauce was TO DIE FOR! we have never had a medium well done pork chop before but the girl explained it and I think I'll never want a well done pork again after this. This is one of the best pork chops our whole table has had. 3. The pine nut butter tart was 11/10 A MUST TRY!!! I've never had some a unique delicious tart that made me want more and more. This tart sounds odd and yes at first when it came out it didn't look or sound as yummy as the tiramisu but I kid you not. I WILL HAVE DREAMS of this pine nut tart. It was not too sweet it had the perfect texture and every bit was so heavenly... if they turned into a bakery and only sold these tarts I think they would do amazing infact they should try selling these frozen and our whole table would buy a batch to bring home! 4. The beets and the buratta and the beans were all good also. A solid 8/10 I would say. THE CONS: 1. They charge for water yes even if you ask for distilled or tap. "Because they have a special filtration system hooked up" no there is no option for tap water. 2. Their charcuterie was terrible. Whoever chose their over hardened minature pretzel and we came with a table of 10 but they gave only 8... so if you do a set menu with a group of people they serve their 8 courses as a family style plate so you can take what you want. But the charcuterie literally only had 8 little pretzel breads the size of a toonie... so 2 people couldn't have it so left an awkward sharing moment. You couldn't even easily break this bite size pretzel in half because of how hard it was and stubby. 3. Their salad was 6/10 because they only used the bitter kind of greens I don't know the name of the vegetable but they were white with hints of purple. So even though they added cranberries to sweeten it overall it was still quite bitter. No one at our table enjoyed the salad but it was edible and you felt very healthy ingesting some so there's that 4. Fish of some sort? NO-ONE like this. Don't order it. 4/10 because people found some bones still left inside and that's always unpleasant when a fish comes supposedly de boned. The sourness of the capers and whatever stuff on top didn't really compliment each other. Very interesting but none of our groups liked it 5. Caciopepe with flat cyclinder pasta. So I am not a real Italian but I can tell you no one at our group liked this pasta. The pasta was very underdone. We can appreciate a good Al dente pasta but this wasn't it. It was way too hard for anyones liking and the sauce was meh. SO OVERALL, I would come back only for really 3 dishes and their service but not a lot of other dishes and especially not for their cacio Pepe pasta which is what I feel like they were known for. read more

Overall 3 stars : 4 for the food taste and table service but minus one star because of the way the manager dealt with the error in charging HST. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance on Open Table. When we arrived, we had to wait for our table as the people were not finished. Our server was excellent and was very friendly and provided good suggestions. For appetizers, we ordered the carne cruda (beef tartare), trippa alla romana (Roman style braised tripe) and the crudo di pesce spada (chilled swordfish). They were all delicious but the swordfish was definitely the favourite as it was so light and fresh. For the mains, we had tonnerelli cacio e pepe, gnocchi ripieni, orata alla griglia (grilled sea bream) and the braciola di maiale (iberico pork chop). The cacio e pepe was ok and very cheesy but the gnocchi was excellent. It was stuffed and had shavings of black truffle. Soooo good. The grilled sea bream was very good and cooked perfectly and the iberico pork chop was excellent as well. We also had a side of crispy potatoes which were so good. For dessert we had the torta Della nonna, torta all'arancia and the chocolate cannoli. The torta all'arancia was the best. It was so light and tasted like a creamsicle. Overall the food and table service was excellent. Now, the part where they lost a star was when we got the bill. All the items were correct but they added the hst. Now this was the last day where the hst freeze was in place. We asked our server and checked the government website which said that the hst freeze was until the end of day. Our server notified the manager and the manager came by and provided a new bill which had adjusted for the incorrect application of hst. We noted that we had eaten out that day and were not charged hst and the radio was announcing that it was the last day of the hst holiday. The issue was how the manager presented the issue. Instead of owning up that an error was made, she proceeded in saying that they were informed by restaurant Canada that the hst holiday ended at midnight on February 14 rather the February 15 and that as a "goodwill" gesture, they adjusted for the hst. This was very inappropriate and very insulting as it was not our error and not our issue but the restaurant's error. The attitude of the manager and the way we were treated us was very very disappointing for a restaurant like this. Everything was excellent up until this point and not sure if we will ever come back here or their sister restaurant, Osteria Giulia, which we had been to several times. read more

Went here for my birthday celebration this year after hearing nothing but good things about it. Ordered and shared: beligioiso burrata, cacio e pepe, risotto aragosta, la Valentina pizza, and la campagnola pizza. The risotto was the best risotto I've had from a restaurant ever and the shrimp was perfection. The pizza was great as was the burrata! The major disappointment was the cacio e pepe. I love a good al dente pasta but this was just undercooked and the coating lacked flavour and was very thin. The atmosphere was chic and the open kitchen made the whole time an experience. Huge shout out to the waiting staff! I could go on and write a whole review on just them and it would be just as long as this, absolutely fabulous service. Overall it was an amazing experience and will definitely be back to give the cacio e pepe a second try as even our favourite places can have off nights. read more

Giulietta knows good food. Every course ordered had us wanting more. We started with the scallop crudo, with phenomenal fresh apple and celery flavours. The corn agnolotti came next and it was simply a burst of fresh cheesy creamy corn with every bite. With the perfectly cooked branzino we also ordered a side of beans, both of which truly shows off the exciting flavours of the ingredients. Not pictured (because we really wanted to dig in) was a pine nut honey tart, which was probably one of the best desserts I've had in Toronto. The service was impeccable and our hostess was very informative with the food and wine choices. My only complaint was that we opted for wine as the cocktails seemed a little uninspired - why is there 3 different negronis out of 7 cocktails?? The restaurant was beautifully modern so that's a plus. Overall, Giulietta is definitely worth a romantic night out! read more

Came here to celebrate my bf's birthday. I was quite excited to try this restaurant as it's currently ranked #9 on Canada's 100 best restaurants. The atmosphere and service were fantastic. The front of the restaurant was more lightly dimmed and has a great date night vibe, while the back section was brighter and serves bigger parties. I love the open kitchen concept and would really not mind sitting at the bar seats to see all the actions in the kitchen next time. Our server was very attentive. She cleaned our table after every course and made sure we have everything we need. This is a great place to enjoy Italian dining on the more upscale side. The food was fresh, rich in flavour, and cooked very well. We started with the truffle beef tartare. There was generous amount of truffles and added an earthy flavour to the fresh beef. The dish was a tad under seasoned. I think a bit more salt and pepper would bring out the flavours even more. For mains, we went with the king crab risotto and la giulietta pizza. This was a white pizza with pistachio and Lardo. It's actually a very interesting combo. I think the toppings all came together well, and the pizza was super thin but with a nice but slightly burnt crust. The king crab risotto had decent amount of crab meat and def had a very strong crab/seafood flavour. The portion was smaller than expected cause it came in a big plate but the plate itself is actually really shallow. Finally, we ordered the pear dark chocolate cake for dessert. The pear was baked inside the cake, and the server poured the brandy anglaise over the cake when they brought it out. The cake has a denser texture and was quite rich but not too sweet since they used dark chocolate. The soft baked pear went well with the cake, and the brandy added quite a bit of sweetness to it. Had such a great experience at Giulietta last night for a little pre-valentines date night. We enjoyed everything from the food, to the service to the ambience! To start we ordered the Polpo e Fagioli (grilled octopus) as this was highly recommended by everyone. I am not usually the biggest fan of octopus, but this was one was so well done! It was cooked perfectly; so tender and with a delicious charred flavour. It was also topped with a yummy salsa verde which really elevated the dish. For mains, we ordered the Ravioli Al Tartufo and L'amentea pizza. The ravioli was super rich and cheesy, and you could really taste the truffle in the dish. It was quite heavy and left me very full. My favourite dish of the night however, ended up being the L'amentea pizza! It tasted so fresh, the crust was perfectly thin and crispy and was topped with a spicy sopressata. I was quite impressed with the spice level! I also recommended ordering honey to put on top, it balanced out the spice perfectly. We were too full for dessert, and initially said no and got our checks. However I saw the couple next to us order the house made gelato which looked incredible! Our server heard us debating on getting the gelato and she was kind enough to bring us a small gelato portion on the house! It was rich and chocolatey and wonderful. Was super excited to finally be able to try Giulietta for my birthday. They only release reservation spots 14 days in advance, so I managed to get a spot by booking 14 days in advance at midnight. Spots go fairly quickly. My original time choice was 8pm on a Friday, but only 8:30pm was available so I booked that time. If you're planning on celebrating an event, it's important to note that they don't allow balloons, decorations, cake, etc. to be brought in. Food: 7.5/10 I came here with a group of 6 and our table was ready for us right away. We ordered the l'amentea pizza as an appetizer. It came cut into 4 slices, even though we were 6 people so we had to cut it into more pieces ourselves. However, flavour wise we liked it so much that we got another, the la valentia which came cut in 6 slices. Both were very good. The base is very thin and the flavours were tasty. La valentia has more of a mix of flavours, so if you want simplicity and to play it safe, l'amentea would be the one to get. For mains, we got a variety of gnocchi, risotto and cacio de pepe. The pasta in all of them were cooked perfectly and the flavours were what your would expect based on the description. We really loved how the portions were the perfect size - not too small where you're left hungry and not too big where you leave stuffed. Drinks: 7.5/10 Drinks were a mix of classics and unique flavours. We got an aperol spritz, negroni rosato, l'antonello and yuzu cider. Flavours were on point and the drinks weren't watered down. The black current in the negroni rosato was a nice twist to the traditional taste. The most unique drink was the l'antonello. The smokey flavour left you with such a pleasant aftertaste. Definitely pleasant to sip on throughout the meal. Service: 3/10 We were quite disappointed with the service here. Our main server was good. She got all our orders correct, made sure the pizzas as appetizers were served first and topped our waters up throughout the evening. However there were a few things that brought our rating down. First, some of our dishes weren't served warm. Second, our table was booth style, so our orders were taken from the opening closest to the aisle. My friend got her drink spilled on her hair and jacket because the server tried to serve it from behind her (not where the aisle side is). A different server also tried to serve the gnocchi from behind and some of it fell before getting to the table. We expected at the the drink to be comped or something for spilling it on my friend, but it wasn't. Overall, I really expected more given all the hype and how it's always so booked up. It's a good place to get solid Italian food, but I didn't find it outstanding. I definitely expected more in terms of service. read more

Immediately upon walking we were warmly greeted. Service is impeccable and the attention to detail is top notch. Great ambiance- good for groups or date night and casual dining. Food was excellent. The Spritz was great and our meals were delicious. The Polpo E Fagioli was superb, cooked to perfection and the salsa verde added a nice touch with the beans. Our server and the hospitality were excellent, a 10. The entire wait staff is on top of it and very efficient. Though there was quite a bit of lag between serving the appetizers and the main course. The ambience is slightly upscale and the lighting is a bit bright for dinner. We had high expectations for the food due to the ratings, but were disappointed with some of the food and thus, overall gave the food a 3.5. The fried sausage olives and cod fritter appetizers were not to our liking. (They kindly took the olives off our bill and apologized that it was not to our expectations and replaced it with normal olives). The salads were good. The morel gnocchi with asparagus was very good and one of the better things on the menu. We had to remove some of the spicy smoky sausages from the Valentia pizza as it was a bit too spicy and over powering. The traditional La Ragina (Margherita) pizza and Bolognese pasta were good but I would not consider any of the food Michelin quality. We did not have any drinks or desserts. read more

Before there was Osteria Guilia there was Guiletta. I haven't been here in soooo long and surprisingly they had a 8pm res on a weekend?! We had: Elgioioso Burrata: This was creamy and delicious! I love figs and they added a perfect sweetness and went well with the tangy vinaigrette Tartare di Manzo: This was delicious! The beef was tender the egg yolk gave it some creaminess and the black truffle was fragrant Crudo Di Tonno: All the olives, capers and fennel surprisingly worked very well with the yellow fin tuna! Polpo e Fagioli: I can still picture the plump, whole octopus that was served many years ago. But this time around it looked scraggly and chewed up. Texture wise it was almost dry and chalky, what I believe may be a result of being cooked and refrozen and reheated. Even my non-foodie guests pointed this out so no it's not cause I'm picky Tagliolini Alla Bolognese: I had high hopes for this but was quite disappointed as it tasted like chef boyardee to me. The flavors didn't have much dimension as I hoped Special pumpkin/squash gnocchi: I found this to be really different in terms of flavors. The pasta was soft and fluffy with a hint of sweetness and the green sauce was tangy which was different They were also having an off day with the bar as they mixed up every round of drinks we ordered. I hope they fix up their staffing and supply chain issues so I can recommend more of their items in the near future. read more
