We drove past this place a few times and decided to try it because the name is so unusual! Live band, white table clothes. American Italian and sushi. The ambiance and energy of an Italian wedding. Kids cheese pizza was delicious. The chicken masala was not so good and neither were the Italian donuts. Service was not great and likely because they were so busy. From the recent reviews we were very leery about coming here. The hostess stand was very accommodating, service (Marco) was awesome, and food was good. We started with a Cosmo and Lemon Drop with Tito's which we felt was watered down and too sweet. Although the drinks were disappointing, Marco had great recommendations for wine. We started with garlic bread which was just ok. My friend got the meatball. He enjoyed it but didn't realize it was fried. I got the Pork Chop Toscana which was good. I didn't like the mashed potatoes but the cannelloni beans and broccolini were yummy. My hubby got the Chicken Parm which was good. My other friend enjoyed the lobster ravioli even though it was smothered in the sauce. Garden State was playing and they were very entertaining. We went to Giuseppe and the Lion to see our favorite band, Rock Republic. And they put on a fabulous show! The indoor space is built with a permanent stage, but it's an L-shaped restaurant, so some tables don't really have a view of the entertainment. Also, some shows, like Rock Republic, are ticketed events, so we had the most confusing time trying to figure out how to buy tickets and make reservations for a table. If you want to dine and you're not in a booth (which costs $$$), you probably won't actually see the band. If you want the best seat and you want to dance, just do general admission and stand at some of the high top tables right in front of the stage. I did like that the space isn't oversold (likely due to fire codes), so it's never too crowded in the restaurant or on the dancefloor. As for the food, It was fine. It wasn't great. They have a large Asian menu and a large Italian menu, and some interesting cocktails. Food portions were really large, which is good since it was a little expensive. But our server was nice, though overwhelmed. I think we'll try Giuseppe and the Lion again now that we understand the ticketing, but we'll eat food somewhere else and then come here for entertainment and drinks. read more

Went for the live music which was great. Food was better than I would have expected for that type of venue. The crowd was really into the band. Almost felt like I was at a wedding reception. Great food special on Thursday they have a $12 lasagne special that tasted great for the price. The size was a large portion which I was very pleased about. Happy hour drinks, and although the service was slow to start it ended up being good. They had live music which was outstanding and we enjoyed dancing with the crowd. read more

First time here. I've been intrigued by the concept since I noticed it a few years ago. The mix of reviews had me filled with a bit of trepidation. That said, we had a blast and would return.' Yo! What Exit? ' a 6 piece band played primarily NJ artists in a non stop 2 1/2 hr show. They had the whole place rocking. No complaints from us regarding food or service. Horrible experience from beginning to end. We were seated at a table in full sun when the patio was almost empty- when we asked to move they did accommodate. Our server Marvin had dirt under his finger nails and didnt know the menu at all. We had to ask to order it took so long and ask to refill water. The server who came out to show the wine proceed to pour himself a half glass as a "taste" - wow! Had to ask for bill twice then after we gave our card we had to ask 15 minutes later if we could get the bill back. Its ashame- food was good but experience was awful. We have driven by this place hundreds of times and figured we would give it a try. Not really sure what this place is? Japanese, Italian or a music venue. We ordered Italian and we can tell you it is not an Italian restaurant. Ordered chicken parmesan and it was okay, with a sauce that tasted like it came out of a jar. Pasta was hot. chicken was luke warm. My wife had chicken marsala that came in a bowl. No taste at all. Service was mediocre at best. Also got Italian wedding soup. I guess they were out of escarole for the soup so they added raw spinach to a warm broth with lots of vegetables. Can't say we will ever return. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Giuseppe and the Lion. With a combination of sushi and Italian, I had my doubts. Our party of four tried several items on both the sushi and the Italian side, and we were pleased with all. But I definitely felt that the Sushi was better overall than the Italian. I had the branzino, which was good, but I have had better. The rice on the rainbow roll was sticky and fresh and the fish was all good (albeit made with Krab, not crab). Our server was fantastic... super friendly and knowledgeable and really seemed to care about our experience. The ambiance was nice and there was a one man band playing jazzy music at a volume that still allowed for conversation. This is my first time going into this restaurant very busy with open tables. We asked if we could sit down near the bar. They said we could we sat down. We ordered some drinks we ordered food. The food was mediocre at best. I had have the wedding soup it was supposed to be somebody's famous wedding soup it tasted like dish water, no flavor and had chicken wings that had so much garlic on them. It was barely edible when we were done, we were handed the bill then they tried to tell us that there was going to be a $20 up charge for each person sitting at the table to cover the music that we were listening to. They never told us it was going to be a cover to sit down when we walked in ended up arguing with the manager who was a jerk who took it off the bill, but he said this is what we charge when you come in here and our hostesses will tell you that When you come in, we tried to tell him the hostess didn't mention a word to us about it she lied and argued about it and said she did tell us so I will never be going back to this horrible Italian restaurant again the food stinks and they're scam artist read more

First time at Giuseppe. I had high hopes for the food. Shrimp Scampi was average at best. No flavor. My wife had chicken Parma which was a 5 on a 10 scale. Caesar salad was flooded with dressing. Service was excellent. Probably will try it again and order pizza. read more

Kind of a weird place! The vibe is very cool but I've never seen a restaurant with Italian and sushi before. It definitely feels like you need to order something from both sides of the menu, so that's what we did. We snagged a last minute reservation on a Saturday night at 6 pm by calling a few minutes before we arrived and they squeezed us in and sat us immediately, which was really helpful because we had an 8 pm show nearby. First they bring focaccia bread with oil and parmesan - I've never had oil with parm in it but I kinda think everywhere should have that now because it was so yummy. We also ordered pot stickers which came out at about the same time! Weird to have ~together~ but both separately were delicious. I ordered the happy hour lobster ravioli which was a bit lackluster. The noodles were too al dente for my taste and the bisque was not seasoned well at all. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs but he agreed his noodles were also too al dente. Pepsi products which is a major downside for me, but super super fast service which we needed this particular night. So definitely a good mix of pros and cons for us here. read more

We didn't want a crazy, fancy dinner last night so we kept it easy and decided on some Italian. We just happened to chose the place with one of the oddest combinations I've seen...Noodles Italian Cafe and Sushi...odd, but they make it work. When we got there it was still happy hour and the place was filled with a bunch of fun, loud seniors. Looks like they were having a blast! We were seated right away and the waiter asked us a for our drink orders. Wifey just had a Malbec, I had a Woodford Reserve and my daughter had a Noodles Sunset (Cruzan Mango Rum, pineapple orange juice, and grenadine). We also started with some Bruschetta (note-only three pieces of crostini with the bruschetta so it was a small portion) and the waiter brought us some delicious focaccia bread. For our meals, my son ordered Shrimp Scampi, I had the Shrimp Rustica, Wifey had the Chicken Piccata and my daughter had the Penne a la Vodka with shrimp (note-this is served with peas). The Shrimp Rustica included Shrimp, Italian sausage, tomatoes, fresh spinach, garlic olive oil, pecorino romano cheese, tossed with penne -I asked for linguini instead, but they didn't have any so I went with fettuccine. All of us absolutely loved our meals and I ended up taking half of mine to go. Since you get a free dessert with check in, I also took home some delicious tiramisu. We really liked it here-the food was very tasty, the service was great and the place was a lot of fun. Is it Northern NJ Italian? No, but it's a LOT better than chain restaurant Italian. Walking into what's now called Giuseppe and the Lion(which sounds about as reasonable as Noodles Italian and Sushi), you're immediately struck by the crowd. It's kind of like walking into the dining room on a Carnival cruise, patrons having had a few, with "Randy and Brad" playing pop hits from the 70s and 80s, and "young at heart"couples in their 70s and 80s dancing and singing. Lively, for sure. Our crowd? Not! But certainly entertaining.The menu is still half Italian, half sushi. (Now Randy and Brad have turned to Moody Blues and are belting it out, followed by Bachman Turner. I think the dancing crowd preferred Bee Gees! ) Food delivered and delicious and well presented. Maybe my standards for Italian food are high from living in NY with a ton of amazing Italian restaurants, but I wish I got sushi instead. The chicken was thick and the meat was good but it didn't taste like a traditional chicken Parm. Also the sauce was just ok--it was sort of chunky which I personally don't like as much. The bread appetizer was a little dense too, not like a light focaccia. However the sushi looked great and from what I tasted I really enjoyed it. Good portions. My family loves this place and I think it's a really cool concept to have Italian and sushi but the italian just didn't do anything for me. After 2 months of quarantine it looks like Florida is slowly opening back up. Once I heard restaurants in Naples opened I was extremely apprehensive but after I came here I honestly felt so safe! My family and I decided to head over to Noodles. We were greeted by a host who wore a mask and she walked us to an outside table. We noticed there were no other customers. Our server (also wore a mask) ended up telling us that this was their second day opening. We started off with house Merlot and the Asian style calamari. Absolutely amazing! The calamari was fried to perfection, with a drizzle of spicy mayo and a side of soy sauce. Incredible! Must have! Our server brought out the signature focaccia bread. This bread is the best! It tastes lightweight and cheesie. Our server told us due to covid 19 he wasn't able to mix the oil, cheese and seasonings together. No worries, we were ok with the safety precautions! I ordered the Chicken and broccoli and penne pasta entre. It was huge! I loved the Red pepper flakes, fresh grated cheese, crispy chicken, and the broccoli had a slight crunch, which I love in a pasta dish. The only thing I don't like are the damn bugs! I had a 5pm reservation for 3 people and arrived at 4:30pm. Upon arrival I requested a booth. The hostess was very arrogant and told me we had to sit at a table. I ask for an explanation and her response was the booths were reserved for later reservations. There were SEVEN booths open at that time.. Upon arrival at any restaurant where I have a reservation I don't expect to be greeted by an arrogant hostess. By the time we finished our dinner at 5:45 there were still 5 empty booths.
