We stopped in at the Imnaha Store and Tavern for a couple rounds of pool and Breakfast. Amy was the only staff on duty, greeted us with all smiles, Coffee (a little strong) then took our breakfast order. Becky chose the Western Omelet with homemade Salsa. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. After a a couple games of pool, (Becky won both), our breakfast was served. Amazing portions, Chicken Fried Steak was Crispy, Gravy was homemade , (no canned Gravy here), (2) Eggs over easy, (2) crispy Hash Brown Patties. Regarding the service, the woman who greeted and served me was extremely polite. She checked on me often, filled my water every time it was down a couple of ounces, and seemed very kind. Honestly, I did a double take and walked in and out a couple of times because I wasn't sure it was a restaurant. I thought it was a pet shop. I honestly could not tell. To me, it was definitely quirky, but it fit the overall vibe of the town of Joseph. I really enjoyed watching all of the customers come in with their dogs. I ordered the veggie omelette, it was small and bland-not bad once salted but not generous in portion or well flavored. My biscuit, however, was the best part of the meal-flaky and a decent size. Our kids ordered pancakes and they looked (and tasted) burnt-like they had been cooked in a pan after cooking bacon-but no bacon flavor. My husband ordered the lumberjack and it would only satisfy an anemic lumberjack. It looked like only one egg was used for his scrambled eggs.
