When I returned, I completed the intake paperwork and had my blood drawn without any mention of a different price. Only when I went to check out was I told that I owed $150. I was then informed that the higher cost was because I was not using insurance. While I understand that insurance status affects pricing, this was never disclosed ahead of time, and I was never asked whether I planned to use insurance or pay cash. Had I been told the correct price upfront, I would have waited until next month when my new insurance plan begins and done the blood work then. When I questioned the discrepancy, the receptionist was cold and detached, taking a very matter-of-fact tone rather than showing any effort to understand my perspective or acknowledge the miscommunication. The main issue here is transparency and patient care. I left feeling like just another number, with little concern for how the situation affected me or whether I chose to return. Clear communication upfront would have completely avoided this experience.

This office has already canceled on her once with less than 24 hours' notice, which was frustrating and inconvenient--but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today, after driving over 40 minutes to the appointment, we were told she could not be seen unless she left a credit card on file. This was never mentioned over the phone when the appointment was confirmed. My mother, understandably, declined due to her credit cards being recently compromised at another medical facility. Instead of showing understanding or flexibility, they demanded a $100 cash deposit just in case of a future no-show. She didn't have $100 cash, and they refused to provide her with care. Shockingly, there was another woman in the office at the same time who was also denied care for the exact same reason. Denying patients--especially those in pain and with valid insurance--due to arbitrary financial policies that weren't disclosed in advance is unethical and deeply concerning. To make matters worse, this office has the audacity to enforce strict no-show penalties while canceling on patients themselves with less than 24 hours' notice. The double standard is unbelievable. We will be filing formal complaints with the state medical board and the Attorney General's office. No patient should be treated this way. This office is a clear example of what's wrong with parts of our healthcare system: prioritizing financial policies over compassion and care.
