It may not be polished on the outside but the inside of Beauty Mark felt bright, clean, and comfortable. There is a ton of natural light that makes the ambiance really nice. The bathrooms is a single room, but very clean. Since this spot isn't usually a nail salon, I was the only one getting my nails done in their waiting room area. There was ample space for me, my nail artist + all her supplies, and my stuff. They played local/ Hawaiian music at a nice volume, loud enough to hear but at a volume where you can talk freely without an issue of hearing the other person. Since last September 2016, I started Crossfit and in July of this year, I began powerlifting. Some days, I don't care if I have makeup and some days I'm coming in straight from the office to train with my mascara (WATER-PROOF) smearing under my eyes, which I wanted to something about it (yes, I'm vain). I remembered her from the 2017 Crossfit Open and noticed that she is a makeup artist because she helped one of the ladies at Arkaios Crossfit with her makeup for a bodybuilding competition! I saw her post on where she got her lashes done and booked an appointment. While I was making an appointment for my lashes, I inquired with the gal if she did powder brow tattooing and she recommended me to CJ! Talk about fate. CJ is one of the brow specialist at Beauty Mark. She also does makeup as well too. I texted CJ shortly after and she was able to squeeze me in the beginning of December. Beauty Mark Honolulu located in the McCully area on South King Street is easy to find. If you're familiar where Pineapple Patio, Beauty Mark is across the street in a building on the 2nd floor. Don't let the appearance of the building alarm you (its circa 1970ish, I think) because once you enter the salon, it's like you're in another world like the beauty salon of Narnia. It's relaxing, clean and the vibe is friendly where you are immediately at ease. For each of their services, they'll have you fill out a form to provide information on yourself as well as consenting to doing the procedures. With CJ, I chose to do the powder brow tattoo because in my opinion from the picture I've seen as well as searched online, it's a softer look of a regular tattooed eyebrows. CJ will work with you on your eyebrows until you're satisfied with the recommendations as well. She'll go over with you what she will do before and during the procedure. She will also take a before and after photo of your brows. NOTE: The procedure itself wasn't painful. Overall, a great experience because of CJ. I will never go back to strip wax. Terri has many years of experience and educated me on the difference between strip and hard wax. The biggest difference is the pain associated with wax, and with hard wax - it's a minimum! After my wax, it doesn't even feel like I've been waxed. Apart from the pain it is how the wax pulls the hair so that it gets it completely from the root. After a year with Terri, my hair is growing back less and thinner. And I wear contacts so my attempts at "grooming" my brows is actually laughable. I've now got "brow style and color" that looks great all the time!
