She curled the curls so tight they looked liked rats tails. The manager intervened when she saw that I had tears in my eyes. She did try to fix it but it was a futile attempt. The damage was done. I was there for over 2.5 hours and I was late for my event. I actually had someone at the event say to me that my hair looked "so different" and recommended that I stay with my normal softer look. I was mortified. This event was a special one to me and it was ruined. I didn't want my picture taken at all! I couldn't wait to wash it out! ... the only positive I have about my experience is that in the shampoo and blow dry was very relaxing. After that, it was horrible!

I typically do my brows myself, but with a big trip and two weeks of wanting to spend zero extra time on my makeup, I decided to leave nothing to chance and opted to have them tended professionally. I paid the extra fee to have the owner, Destiny, do my brows herself. No messing around. I walked in and she was ready. The space was clean, and I dropped into some casual conversation with her and her coworker with ease. They were both free when I walked in, but both chairs filled within a few minutes. I explained where I was going/my needs, and she did her thing. My brows are a little uneven as far as thickness, so for the first couple of days I added a little fill to the one, but after a couple of days they evened out and still looked great. The shape was perfect, they were the right shade, and gave me the POP I wanted. I went in the ocean multiple times, salty hot springs, hiking in the Mexican sun, endured a myriad of pillowcases in hotels, plus had my sleep mask and several different hats on, and we're still looking pretty good now that I'm home from my adventures. I would definitely consider microshading there in the future. Destiny's vibe might not be right for everyone, but the Browtique was it for me.

Trent has been cutting my hair for a few months now and I get so many compliments. I even had him wax my eyebrows.... Fyi not as painful as I had thought. Miranda has been cutting my partners hair, and his too looks great. We have a set apt every three weeks, which I never thought I'd like because I hate pre-sch my life, but it's been so refreshing knowing, that day and time are mine. I love that Westgate Salon has later hours a few days a week, and am thankful for that. Just call and ask and see if they can fit you in. She rearranged her day to squeeze in the color (it had not been noted on the appointment) and didn't miss a beat. No huffing or eye rolling, just a fantastic service. Probably the best haircut I've had in 20 years. The salon itself is open concept and the 'color bar' is like a big picnic table with lots of people and stuff coming and going. It got really crowded. Finding a place to sit while your color processes can be a challenge if it's busy. However, the staff are incredibly patient, kind, and eager to assist in any way they can to make your experience a positive one. No attitude, laziness, or sloppy t-shirts like at other salons nearby.
