Unfortunately, though, timeliness is a problem. I booked from 1-3 and emailed to ensure that was a sufficient timeframe for the work. I was assured that the team they were sending could manage it. The hairstylist arrived on time, but the makeup artist was so late, arriving after 2:30. I called twice before she showed up to see what was going on and was told artists could arrive at different times in the window. When she did finally arrive she said she was running late from a different wedding. This messed up my wedding timeline and I didn't have time for the pictures that should have been happening while my makeup was still being done. Its unprofessional for the company not to have reacted appropriately when I called and arranged a backup, or at least offered an explanation other than she doesn't have to be there in the time you hired your beauty team to be there. It's extremely disappointing that something that should be fun and magical on my only wedding day was instead a cause of incredible stress, and the only thing that went awry with my timeline. For this reason, I can't recommend booking unless you are only getting one thing done with one person.

After doing research, I booked LV Hair and Makeup about 2.5 weeks prior to the wedding. I sent in an inquiry through their website. I received an email back from Laura. She is the main point of contact when it came to the pricing, booking, and confirming. Their website is detailed with prices and packages. I booked an Elite Hair & Makeup package for the three of us. It cost $219 per person. Upgrades are an additional cost (ex: airbrush makeup $35, eyelashes $10, rhinestones $10, hair extensions $10, updos $10, Hollywood waves $10). Since they're mobile, they charge a travel fee of $20 for each artist. A deposit is required before you get a confirmation. Deposits are non-refundable. They take payments through PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle. The remaining balance will be paid after the services. Although Laura had many grammatical errors and may seem all over the place, she was very responsive. She sent me a detailed breakdown of each charge. After sending her a deposit, she sent me a confirmation of my appointment date, time, and location. The day before the services, the hair and makeup artists contacted me for reference photos to get an idea of what we wanted. I sent them a few images I found online. Karina and Liss arrived on time on the day of the appointment. They came extremely prepared with their own lighting and products. Both artists were gentle and patient. Karina did an amazing job with our makeup. I asked for a full glam for my mother and I. I wanted a warm eyeshadow, cut crease, gold shimmer, contour, and baking. Took it back to the 2018 makeup era. I asked for the same makeup style for my mother, but she wanted her outer and inner corners smoked out with a shimmer in the middle. My sister went for a soft glam and a smokey eyeshadow look. We absolutely loved our makeup and appreciated how well it stayed on for 12+ hours! Liss did a beautiful job with our hair. I sent her images of the hairstyles my mother and sister wanted, and she did exactly that. My sister wanted curls and a braid around her crown. My mother wanted her hair curled and half of it pinned in the back. I was the only one that did not have a reference photo, simply because I couldn't find what I wanted. I explained with as much detail as possible about the hairstyle I wanted. I wanted braids on the side of my head, majority of my hair slicked to one side, volume on the top, and curls. Even without a reference photo, Liss was able to bring my vision to life! She used a lot of hairspray, so our curls stuck throughout the night. When I arrived at the hotel I didn't see the salon listed on any of the signage at the Westgate, nor did the hotel's concierge know of this business. Finally I visited their website and noticed that '3rd floor' was stated at the bottom of their webpage. When I made it to the third floor, there sat the Serenity Spa? The only reason I thought this was mislabeled was because I had seen photos on their Yelp page that showed the same windows. I no joke had to do detective work to find this biz. I showed up to my appointment barely on time (despite arriving to the hotel 30min early) and incredibly stressed, especially since they have a strict refund policy. I specialize in Balayage. I reached out to Heather, who is the owner after finding her on Instagram. I sent her a picture of my hair, told her what I was looking for and sent her a picture from her profile as well as one from mine as inspiration. I did not tell her I was a stylist. I verified that she, the owner, and self proclaimed "Balayage specialist" would be doing my hair. She didn't inform me that she had an assistant- which would have been fine except she had the assistant do everything after painting me. Here's how it went down: I arrived and was greeted by the assistant. Her name is Avery. She did my consultation which I had already done with Heather via text so I thought that was strange but I went with it. I explained to her that I get my hair done twice a year, so I keep it rooty and my natural color dimension throughout. I had been growing it out since October so it was the perfect Virgin canvas. We discussed pricing and application and agreed on it all as well as an Olaplex treatment. (Hot tip: they don't actually use Olaplex for their treatments, they use WellaPlex. It's not the same.) She left and then Heather came out and she was silent the whole time she "painted" my hair - it took her an hour and a half and she left at one point to text. I can promise you I do not have enough hair to justify that application timing. She had me faced away from the mirror so I was imagining the application and talked myself into trusting the professional. After she was done, I sat for an hour to process and then Avery took me to the bowl to rinse. Avery washed my hair, checked the lift, mixed my toner and applied it. She did my treatment and then wrapped my hair in a towel and brought me back to the chair, she turned the chair so my back would be to the mirror. She said she wanted to "save the reveal for last." (I should have known then that something was wrong) Avery- the assistant- cut my hair. She actually did well. No complaints. But that was the worst blow out I've probably ever had. Heather didn't come out once to see my hair after she was done painting it. She didn't check the tone. The cut. Nothing. Avery finished my hair with curls and turned me around. I was immediately overwhelmed. It was SO GOLD and it was literally all over. She had over painted me, none of my natural color was left. No dimension. Painted me straight to my roots. I am not a confrontational person and I was just so mortified I left as quick as I could, paying quickly by card and tapping the 20% tip for who even knows what reason. I wish I would have seen it after the wash, I would have known right away and had time to digest it and face it head on. I was stunned. The drive home I was in a panic. I walked into my house, straight to my bedroom to investigate further. Splotchy, uneven color throughout. I don't even know how someone could have messed this up so bad. I've never seen a botch color service this horrible. After I regained my composure I reached out to Heather via text being as respectful as I could. I recognize that she offered to fix it, but unfortunately the trust is broken. As a stylist myself I understand how difficult it is to correct what I had now. She couldn't do the one job I paid her to do, how could she now do a technical color correction? No. I couldn't accept. I asked her for a partial refund, which I thought was fair. She was not interested in that. So here's the real kicker: Heather has had this new salon open for over a year. It's at a new location, but this is the Yelp page? Why is there no Yelp page for the actual location? Don't worry girl, I added it. Why is there no Google Review page? She doesn't put herself out there to be reviewed. I wish I would have seen this page first! I would have never booked her! So many people with similar experiences! I added her business here so that others could see it and be warned. She doesn't have to claim this business to be reviewed. I really wish you would have given me the partial refund I requested, I now have to put out additional money to a qualified stylist to get me back to an acceptable color.
