I received inaccurate information over the phone multiple times by two separate individual staff members from Glam Squad. It was really frustrating because the staff was aware of the address that I was requesting service each time I spoke to someone. The first individual was really nice, patient and helpful, so I thought, but he misinformed me of the availability in Palm Springs when he called me. He stated he could send 4 beauty professionals for my party of three. I was requesting three blowouts and 3 make ups. I was unable to book over the phone because I had to add my payment information to my profile. I add my payment information, gave them a call and waited for a call back. Within 30 minutes I receive a call from another individual stating they are all booked up for that day and will call me back if they find someone. Finally, they email me that actually they do not service Palm Springs for those dates. Like others have mentioned, they were a much better service pre-COVID but are now charging the customer $15 just to request a beauty professional they've had in the past. And this cost is not passed on to the stylist. Customer service is terrible and completely unhelpful. Stylists can literally no-show or be late and there's nothing they'll do to rectify the situation. I've had stylists not show up and when I call customer service, they apologize and say they have nobody else available. And good luck trying to get your money back- the customer service reps are incredibly hard to get in touch with and it takes several attempts to get any help from them. I regret purchasing a package of blowouts pre-covid with them that I'm now desperately trying to use up. I had a 4 PM appointment for a blowout. At 5:27 someone showed up finally and I sent them away. I never received a phone call or email canceling the appointment. As if 1 & 1/2 hours is a normal delay? The last time I booked with Glamsquad, they canceled my appointment the day before and I could not find a place to get my hair done for a black tie work event. Glamsquad is not a reliable service. My last 2 experiences resulted in my not being able to get my hair done for events I thought it was necessary for. I won't be using them again. read more

I love the Glamsquad app, however they do need to make the customer's phone number available to the stylist because that is a flaw in the app in my opinion as it does NOT allow the stylist to communicate with the customer to let them know any updates. Either make an option for stylists and clients to be able to message each other or provide a phone number for both customer and stylist. I wrote in my booking that there was street cleaning so I was recommending the stylist to arrive in time to look for parking. Long story short I was told that since the stylist couldn't find parking she left and I was responsible FOR THE FULL SERVICE INCLUDING TIPPING FOR A SERVICE I DID NOOOOOOT RECEIVED! $200 for something I didn't receive!! I was told that it was responsibility to have parking readily available for the stylist. I live in Santa Monica near a huge park with free available parking but I guess the stylist couldn't walk a block??? ... Whatttt??!!! This is not only outrageous but I was never notified of this alleged responsibility of mine. It wasn't until i threatening them with suing them for all the damages I was incurring in cancelling my family photoshoot that they reimbursed me. Before COVID I loved this service. It was amazing for events to just have professionals come and get you ready in your own home. However, it's all fallen apart now. My last two appointments the stylist just didn't show up. One of them failed to account for travel time and was an hour late for a 1 hour appointment. At least she reached out to apologize but I had to rush to do my own makeup at the last minute. This time I got a message that the stylist was on time and on her way but after 30 minutes no one came and I reached out eventually being told she didn't have the address and could try to come in a bit...after my appointment should have ended. I had a really important event yesterday afternoon that meant a lot to me. I booked a Glamsquad makeup appointment yesterday morning and it was confirmed for 2:30pm. I got 2 confirmations. 2:45pm rolls around. No one has arrived. I filled out the "contact us" form to ask for someone to make sure the artist was still on his way. Then I called and a girl answered the phone and said she'd look into it and get back to me. Cut to the call back 10 minutes later telling me the makeup artist wouldn't be able to make it. I'm sorry, what?! No one called to tell me in advance? Or even after the appt. started? I had to follow up 15 minutes into the appt.? I'm not sure where the miscommunication happened on Glamsquad's end but what a flaming dumpster fire. Never again, unfortunately. And the gal on the phone said I could get 50% off my next appt. LOL. I tried to call back to speak to someone on the "leadership team" but no one was in. Really? Then I got an email saying the appt. had been cancelled and they understood my plans had changed. I was flying back from Chicago, getting in at 11:50 a.m., and found out I had to be at an awards show for work at 3:30 p.m. I didn't have time to go to a salon for a blow-out so I Googled and found out about Glamsquad. I booked the appointment about 5 days before the show. The stylist who came to my house was prompt and professional. She had all the supplies she needed. She was done in under 45 minutes and my hair looked great. I loved how it turned out and will definitely use this service again. I got a $25 off code from someone else's Yelp review, so including tip the whole thing cost $35 - cheaper than DryBar AND I didn't have to drive or park anywhere. I had a Saturday 1:30pm GlamSquad appointment for hair and makeup. I had confirmed the appointment and received confirmation emails. 10:30am day of the event, GlamSquad called to cancel and say the stylists are not available. What? How do you cancel the day of and 3 hours before the appointment!!!! Very difficult to find hair and makeup appointments the day of.... it's impossible. GlamSquad acted like no big deal. But honestly, Glamsquad has the WORST customer service and ruined an event my boss, an A LIST ACTOR, is attending later tonight. Her nails are a mess. This is for a red carpet. She has to leave at 5:00pm. I booked last night for 3:30pm. I called right away to request a woman named Amber, who my boss likes because we used them last week, seeing if she would be able to come. They said they would call me back and never did. This morning I called back to say hey I would really love to make sure we confirm this new person. 3:00 or 3:30 PM works perfectly for us. They said great, and they would call back or email to confirm. I opened my email to see my 3:30pm had been canceled and that they rescheduled for 5:00pm RANDOMLY. So I called them, and the woman on the other line could not have been more condescending in her tone. She told me she had a recording of me saying I had said 5:00pm last night (which is ridiculous, but even if that was true, i told them specifically i want 3 or 3:30pm on our last phone call). She was arguing with me and not trying to be helpful in the least. We ended the call of her basically threatening me with this recording, not offering to give me any sort of discount or whatever for next time. So now my boss is without the person she wanted in the first place, and without a mani/pedi appointment. It seems trivial but it's her job to look presentable and glamsquad's whole concept is to be a RELIABLE GLAM SQUAD for events like these. NEVER using them again. Do not use this app! I was completely robbed by them last Friday 2/21/2020. I booked a blowout appointment, told my stylist what I was looking for and she said not a problem. I was unaware that apparently customers are responsible for the stylist getting the job done on time. I wasn't paying attention to the clock I knew it was taking awhile but figured the stylist would be keeping track of the time so as to not go over my appointment time. That wasn't the case she took 2x the amount needed, didn't tell me then made me record a video saying I agreed to the charges. I truly blame the back end folks - because our stylists were very sweet, yet they had no clue where they should be going or what they should be doing, even after I spent countless hours on the phone with Glam Squad setting this all up. Went through line by line of the (HIGH high level) clients, their services and time slots they would all be fulfilling in the corporate room. They knew we were running a VERY High profile event, and were not only incompetent but unorganized from start to finish. I had given them every detail laid out, in its full entirety(in an excel! for crying out loud) but day of it was a huge disaster. Never in my career have I ever experienced anything like this - and I have worked with some of the best and biggest in the business.
