Marjan the owner of the salon cut my hair so badly I had to get extensions (which I've never had to have) to fill in the literal missing chunk of hair that she cut out. She gave me the most uneven cut I've ever had -- I was so upset when I got home and realized the chunk of hair missing on the side, something I didn't see in the salon as she blew my hair back. She said she was going to refund the hair cut but instead blocked my phone number and email. This woman should not own a salon. read more

See Damian !!!!! Not only is he a handsome Aussie but he gives good hair The salon is very clean and they offer coffee, cookies, wine or champagne. Parking is available underneath. Be sure to get it validated. Damian was on time and very polite. We did a simple blow out but it was the most relaxing 30 mins I've had all week. I recently went to this salon with a deal from livingsocial.com, it was such a great deal that I was willing to take a chance. If any of you girls are like me it takes a lot of trust to let a new person cut your hair. I had gotten a really bad cut over the summer and my desperate need for a cut had finally outweighed my fear of another potential disaster. I am so glad I found them!! Granted I did wait a little longer than I would have preferred but given the amazing discount I was understanding. After all, 2 woman are trying to field the nearly 800 deals sold on the site alone. The salon was cute, the staff was super friendly, my eyebrows were even and well shaped, and my hair was given new life. I've got wavy hair, not super thick but definitely not thin, Fariba gave me a great simple cut. I've been to stylists who do all sorts of things to make it seem like what your paying for is their "technique" but really this cut is the best I've had in years. Came here with the pledge-sister/coworker/new bff last night after work to get my hair re-colored..nasty roots were growing out again! One of the pros was the ability to schedule a late evening appointment so no need to take any days off work :) The M Salon is located amongst several high end designer boutiques in what looks like a small center on Rodeo Dr. I believe it is right next to a Stuart Weitzman store on the Garden Floor(luckily all these stores close at 6:00, I would have went home -$500, no bueno!). We got there late, because of traffic, she waited and was extremely sweet about it. The salon is beautifully designed by her husband and is brightly lit. There is a small cute little closet where you can change into a smock instead of the usual cape thing most places squeeze around your neck! She took care of us immediately and worked on both of us carefully yet was efficient. I made a strong point I did NOT want orange-tinted or blonde looking hair and picked out a light ash brown shade. She answered all my questions knowledgeably and knew what she was doing. I had a very enjoyable glass of Chardonnay to wait with as well :) The results: My hair came out a little lighter than what I wanted originally, but I've checked it many times when I got home and before I wrote this review(in case it got lighter or the fob-orange started to appear) and its not Orange! Asian hair apparently has more red/orange pigment so its very easy for an attempt to achieve light-brown to look..fob-orangey-brown is probably the best way to explain this shade. Bff's hair was cute and nicely trimmed, however she's not very happy with the layers and after washing it this morning realized it looked kinda choppy and is probably going to get it re-cut this weekend :( TIP: Parking is free after 6:00pm in the parking structure with paystations off Camden! read more

Honestly I am just looking for a good haircut! I have been to so many over-the-top, overpriced places that just don't know how to cut hair. I have short hair that is rather boring so knowing how to cut it makes all the difference. I ran into a friend at Fashion Night who told me about the place, so I decided to try it. The place is small but very nice and has a great design. From the second I opened the door I was offered a beverage, and greeted with a smile. The place is very clean and the staff is warm and nice, needless to say I feel I am like a first class customer without a first class attitude. It's nice to go to a salon where all the employees aren't full of themselves because they cut some "C" grade actor's hair. I got a groupon for an international facial and it was amazing. I was comfortable the whole time and I loved knowing what was happening. Bad service, even worse haircut. I can honestly say that I have had a better cut at Hair Masters. For starters I waited over 20 min for Marjan to come over and cut my hair after her intern/helper washed and conditioned it. **I was sitting with a cold, wet head for over 20 min while she was chatting it away with her only other client.** By the time she finally came over half of my hair was already dry. Instead of re-wetting the whole thing she proceeded to cut it half wet (which can lead to an uneven cut for those who didn't know this already). She has no regard for the fact that the scalp has nerve endings which transmit pain when she yanks on the hair as she's brushing it. When she was drying my hair, her giant round brush dug into my forehead and neck a number of times which was also quite unpleasant, let me tell you. The cut was horrible, it looks something like an outgrown mullet with the back being longer (just to my shoulders) and the front much shorter (coming just below my chin). Prior to her "piece of art work" my hair was a couple of inches below my shoulders. After I specified that I wanted a trim ("about an inch" is what I said), emphasized the fact that I love my layers and want to keep them and told her that I am trying to grow my hair, she cut off about 3 inches, made my layers disappear and gave me the most uneven haircut ever. This is probably the worst haircut of my adult life. This lady needs to realize that it's not the 80s anymore and go back to hair cutting school. The only nice thing about the M Salon is the decor, hence the one star. read more

I was at the M salon last Friday for the first time. That night I had 75 gusts for my birthday party and I was nervous about getting haircut. One of my friend recommended Marjan (the hair stylist). Although I showed up 15 minutes late, Marjan greeted me in a very nice and friendly manner. She gave me a fancy gown and after I sit down and relax with a cup of coffee and a pastry, she started my haircut. She also blow dried my hair after the haircut. OMG, after she finished, I couldn't take of my look from the mirror. That night, at my birthday party, everybody gave me a complement about my hair style. This place is located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly HIlls, I figured, they must be good, high rent district. Don't bother. Ami was sweet as pie, but doesn't know how to cut hair. Whew--took a chance on the $22 groupon for a Shellac manicure, and loved it! First of all, the location is AMAZING, the parking garage is legitimately nicer than my house (and they validate for 30 minutes free!), and how on earth could I ever have gotten ANYTHING on Rodeo drive for that cheap?? The owner squeezed me in for the manicure when I had no appointment, and I got no attitude or ANY problems in using the groupon for my purchase. The lady who did my nails was so sweet and IMO did an excellent job. Maybe not the BEST most perfect manicure in my life...but it was really great and I can't complain at all. They have a nice color selection, wine to serve, and it's RODEO DRIVE!!! I would go here again in an instant, and recommend purchasing the groupon if it's still available (I sound like an ad, but I was soo hesistant seeing the 2 bad reviews for this shellac manicure, but my worries were unfounded) read more

This place is AMAZING I could not speak more highly of it. Due to a series of incredibly awful events where I was cancelled on by another salon upon arrival (red moon salon) right before my bday weekend, I ended up here! Thank god. They heard me upset outside their salon and came over to me and asked what happened, I was very upset blubbering the situation to them through teary eyes and they said just come in we will do your manicure. I was beside myself with thanks. They took me as a walk in then and there. My friend referred me to M Salon because I'm super fickle with my color and when I ask for a trim, I only want a trim! My stylist succeeded with both! My blonde hair has no sign of red or golden hue (Yesssssssssssssssssss!) and my long hair is still flowing in the wind just more healthy and knot free! Wow what a treat getting my hair done at Rodeo salon. My hair looks great and received many compliments. I wanted a updated look that was low maintenance, and that's what I got. The hair stylist showed how keep up the look, and I am able to continue with styling my hair on my own. Plus, I was able to bring my daughter, who got the royal treatment too. The ambiance is sophisticated, but very comfortable. They aren't kidding about the cappuccino, so yummy. Plus having a glass wine was the cherry on top! Marjan is great and so are her people. This place is really subtle for being on Rodeo. Her pricing is super fair and you always get offered wine or champagne. And they have wifi and a little outdoor seating area...it is very serene and quiet - not loud music fighting the blow driers. Oh, AND she validates the valet parking! I went to the M salon after purchasing a voucher on livingsocial for a cut and deep conditioning treatment. When I arrived I was given tea and cookies while my stylist, Fariba, finished with her other client. They used morroccan oil products which left my hair shiny and frizz free. While I waited for the deep conditioner to sink in I was offered champagne...and of course I accepted! The entire staff was so friendly and even allowed my boyfriend, Keith, and my yorkie, Lilly to wait inside while they finished up with my cut. Fariba did a great job and really listened to what I wanted. I have long hair and wanted to keep it that way! Thanks M salon! Marjan made my hair do things of which I had no idea it was capable! I SMS'ed my boyfriend pics from my phone, and he asked how Mary Louise Parker had gotten his number. Marjan was efficient, relaxed, and personable. Whitney, who washed my hair and massaged my scalp (almost fell asleep), was similarly chill and friendly. She also makes a nice cappuccino! The [Rodeo Drive] salon is both elegant and cozy, in a lovely little multi-level courtyard with Escher-like small escalators, among trees and marble walkways. I told her Marjan wanted to keep as much of the length as i could while getting rid of the unhealthy ends (6 mo. since last cut, fine curly hair), and that I have an uneven curl pattern and usually get chunky layers, shorter around my face. She did just that, but in a way that looks more grown-up than previous cuts. My sense is that she has a terrific eye for current style, and understood what would look good for my face shape. The threading was nicely done, and she gave me a useful tip on plucking [leave everything up to the line of the outside edge of the bridge of the nose]. The blow dry, though, was the grand finale. I've had my hair blown dry before, and never been impressed with the look of it -- overdone, too frufru, or, at best, novel to have it straight, but not as pretty as curls. This was awesome. Straightened the top half-ish and left the bottom playfully curly -- I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it was hott. I will come back just to have her blow out my hair, for special occasions. And I'll definitely be back in 3 months for a cut. The experience, start to finish, was just lovely, and I continue to enjoy my cut, even without the blow dry. Impressive! read more
