I'll start this review with the positives. I did a major master bath remodel and needed the glass shower enclosure as the final step. I called Glass and More. Spencer showed up when scheduled, he measured everything accurately, and gave me great advice which helped me choose the right materials. His team showed up 2 weeks later and did a great install. Problem is that the shower door seal leaks and we end up with at least a quart of water on our marble floor after each shower. I called several times before finally reaching Spencer. He sent one of the installers who said that it was leaking through the hinges. He added some small gaskets to the hinges and said it would fix the leak. Well, it still leaks. I called Glass and More several times with no response. I finally called from a different phone and Spencer answered immediately. He said "yes, I got your messages" and then hung up. Three months later and he hasn't done anything. Be careful when hiring this company. My experience has shown that you can't count on them to stand by their product. read more

Our shower contractor (who I trusted) recommended this company for the glass. I signed a contract before looking at reviews (which I obviously dont recommend). I became nervous that we would be ripped off but for no reason. Spencer always called back, typically within a few minutes. They delivered the glass on time and it looks great. The gentleman who answered my call could not have been more disinterested in my business had he tried. What a great experience! Spencer came to our house and measured the piece of glass that was broken in our sliding glass door, went back to his shop to see if he had that size in stock, and, the next day, they installed our new glass! We built a new house in Clarksville, MD. We hired Spencer, the owner of Glass and More, INC to install ALL the bathroom shower enclosures and mirrors back in September. We paid him a deposit of almost 50% of the invoice back in September. He has not completed nearly 25% of the work. It is now November and we are unable to use our showers b/c they do not have shower enclosures in the bathrooms. He has not completed the work and is not answering any of my phone calls or emails. He has promised the builder that he would come to the house on 2 occasions and never showed up. He doesn't even return any of his phone calls. I will now have to hire an attorney to get my money back for the unfinished work and pay someone double to cleanup his mess. HIs lack of professionalism is disappointing and has caused us much inconvenience and aggravation. I do not recommend using his services. You will be sorry if you consider using him. An awesome experience--I called to have two window panes replaced and they were out within a couple of hours to complete the job. They were careful, neat and courteous. The cost was actually less than what was quoted. I had contacted another company who not only quoted a higher price, but said that it would take 2-3 weeks. Glass and more provides excellent customer service before and after installation. We experienced some issues with water leaking out from under the shower door. The folks came out several times to fix the problem but it still persisted. Spencer and his crew finally identified the problem and just like that it was like having a new shower once again! We have been long time customers of the team at Glass and Moore. They first helped us in 1995 and they consistently do a fantastic job at a great price. I highly recommend Glass and More. The guys were perfectionists and made sure the mirrors we had installed looked amazing. We've had their mirrors for over 20 years and customers love it. We had them do a bronze mirror with a bevel strip and it came out fantastic. We still receive compliments on the mirrors 20 years later. read more

Never use this company. Years ago we had our bathroom renovated. We used a small contractor who called Glass and More for the shower enclosure. It was improperly installed and no one would answer the contractor's calls. Because we didn't want the contractor to eat the expense of having it done over, we left it and the door has never closed properly. It gets worse-- fast forward, we called recently to "fix" the door and they were a no show, no call. read more

I needed a large mirror cut for my bathroom. I first went to a competitor who said it would take 2 weeks, required 50% down & it was pricey. Because I needed the mirror right away I called Glass & More. Took a chance. I spoke to Spencer. He said he could have the mirror done in a couple of hours, delivered for free same day & cheaper by 30%. When the delivery person came he was very pleasant & refused to take a tip. This company took the money and never carried out the contracted service (first time I encounter this in my life). After paying $450 to replace a skylight in June 2013, they went "silent". My real state agent and me have called about 30 times over a 3 month period, left a dozen voice mails. Only once did the owner (Detlef Spencer) pick up, and told me they would come to do the job (no apology or explanation was provided). They never showed up. I have reported the situation to BBB and I only want the money back, I would not let these people into my home. Unbelievable. read more

I am unable to get it repaired because Mr. Spencer, the owner, does not return phones calls and refuses to honor the warranty on his product and service. I do not recommend this company. Spencer has installed glass shower enclosures for me on two renovations. The first was in 2004 and the second was just a few days ago. In both cases I comparison shopped and found his prices to be very competitive. He is prompt and reliable and although I am not a glass expert, his work is a good as any I have seen in a showroom. As part of the recent job, I asked Spencer to replace the worn seals on the shower door he installed ten years ago and to adjust the door, and he did so for no extra charge. I was very surprised to see the negative reviews posted on this site, since they are not consistent with my experience working with Spencer in two encounters spanning ten years. read more

I needed to have a glass door replaced. I called around found that Glass and More was the least expensive contractor. He installed the door; however, he did not replace the molding at the bottom of the door. I mentioned that the molding needed to be replaced. He noted that the painters should replace the molding. I said that what happens if it rains and I stated that I have never heard of a window/door contractor not replacing molding that they have removed. It boiled down to me telling him to replace the molding or he would not get paid. He replaced the molding. He wished me good luck in Gaithersburg because the he had to replace the liquor store glass due to a break in. So I guess that he lives in a mansion in Potomac and he is just there to get money/exploit the citizens of Gaithersburg. Then he had the nerve to offer me new glass doors for my bathrooms. II asked him if he was joking! You get what you pay for and I would never use Glass and More again even if they volunteered their service. read more
