I knew which windows (4 of them) I wanted replaced since an Anderson Renewal guy had come out separately to inspect & provide a quote. Chris from Main Street was extremely kind, helpful, and upfront. I chose them ultimately because of this pleasant meeting, urgency for the replacement, and fair price. He was my only point of contact the whole job which was nice and he was on top of communicating things throughout the whole process. We also have siding being replaced so he communicated with my other contractor to coordinate timing. Pricing was very reasonable compared to Renewal but more expensive than a DIY vinyl install because of the window quality. I wanted a window that would last and was willing to pay more. The Anderson 100 series installed was literally half the cost of what Renewal had quoted me (I believe they quoted the 300 series) but are very high quality windows regardless and we really like them. There are some minor aesthetic defects from the manufacturing of the windows (pictured here) but they can be trimmed off very easily and aren't a concern. The installer Dre came in with Dan as support and they did a beautiful job. I had plenty of notice beforehand and they finished the job exactly as estimated (about 6 hours) after cleaning up very nicely. All in all, I thought Main Street Windows had a competitive price, I appreciated their recommendation for the product, they did a great job communicating, and the windows look great.

Hanson's solution was to cover the damage with touch-up paint, which is completely unacceptable for a product sold as new. Very poor quality control and an even worse response to the issue. Shameful. During this process, rain entered the home while tarps with holes were being used for protection. Approximately three inches of rain came into the structure, causing extensive water damage throughout our home and personal property. Following the incident, Hanson's representatives left the property and advised us to contact our homeowner's insurance. As homeowners, we expected the situation to be addressed directly and professionally given the extent of the damage that occurred during the roofing project. Since that time, we have spent the past nine months attempting to communicate and seek resolution. We have reached out multiple times, including attempts to communicate with management, yet the matter remains unresolved. The damage caused significant disruption to our lives and home. Beyond the physical loss, the process has involved ongoing stress, delays, and repeated attempts to obtain meaningful communication and accountability. Hanson's has publicly asked us to contact them, however contact has already been made numerous times without resolution. At this point, public requests to "reach out" are frustrating when emails and prior communications have not been adequately addressed. We continue to deal with major damage and $74,762.46 in uncovered losses. We are sharing this review so others understand our experience and in the hope that Hanson's will respond to the emails already sent and work toward a direct and meaningful resolution.

The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.
