The back windshield shattered on my truck late in the day yesterday. I wasn't even sure if I would be able to reach anyone after hours, but Fernando returned my call promptly and gave me the best price of any other quote I had gotten and I got about 6 or 7. My Range Rover was recently broken into in a parking garage. The jerk that did it busted out my back window. My insurance allowed me to call their preferred providers or go off the list if I preferred someone else. Called 3 off the preferred list. One never returned my message. Another couldn't schedule me in for a week. The last scheduled me, but then had to postpone because they realized they couldn't find the glass replacement anywhere in Austin. I gave up on all of them and researched Yelp. Glass Brothers stood out because of their rating and proximity. Called them and spoke with Adam. Loved the efficient and no-nonsense approach. He just asked for the year and make/model and said he would call me back to see if he could find the glass. He called me back and said they had to special order it and they could have it in two days. He scheduled me for an at-home service the afternoon the glass was to come in. The morning of the install, I got a call from the installers asking what time in the afternoon worked best. Gave them the time and they said they would be there. They showed up on time, walked me through what they were going to do and then did the work. About 45 minutes later it was good to go. Looked great, no leaks (to date), very professional. They even thoroughly vacuumed out all the broken glass. The final plus, is the work was roughly $150 under my deductible. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again, but hopefully I'm through with idiots breaking my car windows. read more

These guys are awesome. They are in South Austin so I thought I would check them out based on the review. I needed to get the passenger window replaced due to a crack. I called, got a immediate response. He had to check to see if he had the right glass but called me back in 5 minutes and scheduled the mobile repair at my job a few hours later. They kept in constant contact in terms of arrival time. I was shocked because they completed the job in about 15 minutes. Everything worked great. Yesterday as I was driving home, I noticed a 15" crack in my windshield. At midnight I asked for a quote via yelp on the repair price. Fernando with Glass Brothers responded almost immediately. I then had Adam call me the next day to follow up. We determined by phone that the area was too large to be repaired. It was at this point a large star and went to the edge of the glass. He gave me a quote that was very reasonable and said they could have the glass and by at my location within two hours. I asked if they took credit cards and he said they do. Within hours I had my glass replaced. They did a great job, took the old glass, and cleaned up. Fernando was fast, friendly, and did quality work. My car was broken into overnight on Red River by the new hospital. When I saw someone had smashed in my window, I was so frustrated and flustered. This has never happened to me before, so of course, my first reaction was to get in touch with my insurance agency. They wanted to put me in contact with a company called Safe Lite, and were eager to transfer my call. Well I'm glad I did my research first! I reached out to numerous companies and was left with feelings of betrayal. Not only does Safe Lite dominate with sponsored ads, they are partnered with most insurance agencies causing a monopoly of the sorts. As far as pricing goes, beware of the rip off going on. No doubt, I'm certain Safe Lite will do a great job! They are reputable and extremely professional, I'm sure. They offer warranty! Okay, well so do the Glass Brothers. Go with the expensive guys and be a sucker. Get your quotes and support local! It is apparent to me that Glass Brothers are the best of the best!! I was met at my home within a very short amount of time, and my window was fixed with rapid speed, precision and exceptionalism! No, I do not know these guys personally, but they are extremely friendly and courteous. I felt deceived by other local companies, and am very glad I got on the line with glass brothers. They put a factory standard (non-tinted) front passenger window on my Kia Soul and did a great job. Most importantly, they were honest and upfront about everything. I was left feeling confused and deceived by other local guys, who couldn't seem to explain the tint process to me. I had originally planned to have the windshield replaced on my hunting truck ('04 Silverado) at their facility which is near my office. I contacted them via Yelp in the afternoon yesterday since I had driven the truck to work. Instead they suggested mobile service at my home after work @ 6:30PM since the install took an hour and it then needed to rest for an hour afterwards before driving. I felt bad because it was the hottest day of the year (110 in Austin) but they didn't balk. Their team showed up right at 6:30, worked quickly, and handled everything flawlessly. Fernando returned my call in just a few minutes. I happened to be right in the area, so he directed me to their lot and took care of me on the spot. I'd say the whole thing took about 15-20 minutes. I had a pretty nasty stone impact on my windshield, so the repair didn't go totally invisible, but I was happy to have the work done so promptly. My main goal was to keep the spot from spreading. I have a very expensive "heads up display" type windshield that can easily be $800 to replace and I wasn't ready to go through insurance to make that happen....maybe next time.
