My husband and I celebrated his birthday at this restaurant on yesterday. We drive by this restaurant often because it's in a plaza that we visit on a regular basis. When we walked in on yesterday evening, we were immediately greeted and told that we could seat ourselves and we would be helped shortly. A woman came by our table with menus and told us about what we could order from the bar. I was completely sold when she told me she had an alcoholic drink that included Boba, which was called Boba on the Beach. It was really good. We looked over the menu which had a nice variety of Asian fusion type dishes. We placed our order and it didn't take too long for us to get our food. Everything was flavorful. Last weekend me and a few friends went to check out Glass Panda Asian Street Food for my birthday. Here's how my experience started. From first look this place looks pretty cool from the outside to the inside. The pictures and painted walls were esthetically pleasing. I could see many people taking photos all around that place. Even the bathroom had a cool Panda picture on it. We were also informed by staff that there is a lot more to be done there. Of course we ordered tons of food but I will only be speaking on what I ate there. Let's start with the Korean Corndogs. I got one regular and the other one covered in blue Takis. The regular one was good, hot, and crunchy. They don't really look like traditional Korean Corndogs so visually they don't look good at all I would definitely recommend them do it the traditional way if possible. However the way they stack it is great. How most K-Dogs are done you have the cheese at the top and the hotdog at the bottom. Here they do cheese meat cheese meat like a kabob and to me that's how all K-dogs should be. I definitely preferred the original one over the Taki one. The OG gets an 8/10 and the Taki one a 7/10. The scores would be higher for both but I knocked a point for the presentation and the Taki one didn't taste like Taki at all and in my opinion I would have used hot cheetos instead. I also tried the Korean Fried Chicken nuggets and those were really good. The flavor was there and so was the crunch and that juicy chicken. Highly recommend these (they also have regular KFC drumstix/legs). 8.5/10 Next up the Bulgogi Bao. The buns were super soft like pillows which was a great start. The meat itself was good but could have been just a bit more tender. When you eat bulgogi beef it should nearly melt in your mouth. With that said whatever the sauce that was used was a bit salty but not inedible. I also would have preferred a cold slaw in there besides lettuce to help cut the salt with the sauce. That sweetness of the slaw would have made a huge difference. 6.8/10 Everything else that was ordered according to my friends was well received and we all left with empty plates and only 1 Togo box. Final thoughts: I will definitely come back here to eat again no question. I would love to see takoyaki added to the menu as well as some street food dessert items I could name a few. But this place was great. The staff was awesome and took time out to speak with us and gave great back story about the restaurant as well as some great recommendations. The drink menu is awesome to with lots to choose from, from milk tea all the way to alcohol. Service alone was 10/10 great staff. Decor was 9.5/10. Excellent customer service from the staff during my first visit. When I wasn't pleased with what I originally ordered the manager made sure that I left satisfied with a different mindset and new food to enjoy. They are very perceptive to comments and concerns since they're a new restaurant. I ended up receiving the pork ramen which is delicious. The broth is so flavorful. We stopped in during the soft opening and it was not overly crowded. The vibe is somewhat trendy and casual. It is about half self serve-meaning you order and pay on your phone and grab your own drink, they do have servers who will bring your food out and help with any concerns. Great place for kiddos to keep entertained. A small patio is off to the side so your group can also spread out. They have some small growing pains to work out with the ordering, food timing etc. but they asked for honest feedback which shows willingness to grow and improve!! This place just opened and it fills the void in the area for Asian food option. It self-describes itself as a "Asian Street Food". To me the dishes are less street food and more fusion style. There are some interesting options and are mostly Japanese and Korean influences. You can order and pay directly from your phone so personal service is minimal. The ambiance is modern and clean. I tried the Kimcheese burger. It was good combination of two patties, lettuce, tomato, and pimento cheese. The Asian influence was minimal, but it was good nonetheless. My wife had the Pork Tonkotsu ramen. It was good, but the cardboard bowl and plastic spoon didn't work well. Eating it was awkward because the bowl was too deep and spoon too small. Went by the other day to see what was up... it did not disappoint. Very trendy/quirky interior and it was so colorful! The rainbow led lights under the bar was a nice touch. I'll definitely go back! The menu is on a scam a QR code system. They have several menu options. (I saw a few reviews that stated there was a limited menu. That's not the case now). I ordered the Bulgolgi Beef Bibimbap. It was seasoned very well and hit all the flavor notes for me. I came with a party of 12. We're all "foodies" and everyone was satisfied with their meal in terms of flavor and portion size. I ordered the pear pandemonium to drink. It was a little sweet for me but the bartender fixed it, no problem. They have a full bar with many options and the bartender was pretty creative in making off menu cocktails. You can order and pay at the table and they bring it out to you. I wasn't really a fan of the street corn. I think this would be better if it was blended to make it a creamier dish. It also didn't have a lot of flavor. The chicken nuggies were really good. I liked the sweet and spicy sauce I picked to go with them. However I did think they were a little overcooked. The star for me was the burger. That thing was delicious. It was really so good. It had a little bit of heat but not too much. I would definitely order that again. I order the chicken nuggies and the breading had zero flavor, all I tasted was the sweet garlic soy sauce. The meat was a little chewy but that could be because they use breast meat. 0/10. I also ordered a small fried rice. It looked so good but it was another let down with flavor. All I smelled was garlic, no salt, zero spice and flavor. Tonight was my wife and I's first time at Glass Panda and I could not be happier with our experience! From the SUPER friendly staff, to the amazing food! We had the K-Dog appetizer and albeit different, it was fantastic! My wife ordered the Ramen of Death and if you like spicy, look no further! So flavorful! This was some of the best food I've had in Birmingham, and DEFINITELY the best of its kind. Having said that, it's not really just *one* genre. It's a real fusion of a few things, but done very well. The Bibimbap I had was fantastic, and included (somehow) the best fried egg I've ever had in my life? Fried eggs aren't really something I've ever paid much attention to...they're just fried eggs. But this one demanded I notice how good it was. The beef was high quality and cooked to perfection, and the spicy gochujang-inspired sauce was incredible. The chicken sandwich, which we got with two different sauces was absolutely fantastic, and the chips it came with -again - literally some of the best chips I've ever had. EVER. The owner (who btw was super nice and talked to us a few times) told us they cut the potatoes for them in house and the spice blend is a secret recipe they mix daily. We also got some "Indonesian Egg Rolls" which might not *sound* good if you read their makeup, but they were FIRE. Had hotdogs in them (which is apparently a popular Indonesian way of serving them) and it worked!! All in all, just a delicious and incredible experience. You've GOT to try this joint! read more

We had the chili garlic edamame which was excellent. The Korean chips were cooked well but needed salt or some type of seasoning. Teriyaki chicken was wonderful. I was in town and wanted to check out Glass Panda since it just recently opened up. The place was a decent size, and you have to order online as no physical menus were available. The cashier who helped me seemed a little nervous, but he was cool, and I'm guessing the manager that was there made sure that I was taken care of. Stopped by for my second visit last night. Ordered steamed gyoza and the pork ramen again. The gyoza arrived fried but the person who delivered the food quickly corrected the order. The steamed ones were good, although I forgot to take a picture of them. The pork ramen recipe has changed. The broth was white instead of brown and came with a little container of some type of seasoning sauce to pour in the broth if you wanted it (I did). The noodles themselves seemed to be the packs you get at the store. It was still good, but I liked the original better. I think they are trying to cut down on the amount of time it takes to prepare the ramen. Don't forget to order the spice bomb. It is prepared in-house and is really good. read more

The corn dip was huge and enough for a group of 4+. Highly recommend the K-dog. Our entrees were the Korean Fried Chicken and Bulgolgi Beef Bibimbap. Best things we tried were the Pork Gyoza, the Bulgogi Bao Buns, the Chicken Sandwich, and the K-dog! Fun and friendly atmosphere and a lively staff, this place was great for a casual and fun dinner.
