I came in the salon to get a full set acrylic nails and pedicure and wax. After 2 days my acrylic manicure nails popped off. The nail lady rushed doing the acrylics, barely any filing.. I even had to tell her to fix the shapes of the nails because they were not straight. I had to pay before finishing my nail set and I am extremely unsatisfied and upset with my experience. She did it way too fast and when I wanted to switch the color she just kept using another color instead because she ready to go home. Very bad experience. I have been here twice and both have been awful. I asked for coffin nails and they came out rounded and crooked. The gel polish started chipping and flaking off almost immediately which I've never experienced before. This place is under new management. They are located on the Twinbrook Shopping center. This whole strip mall needs an over haul. The lightening inside was significantly brighter. It appears they repainted but could have been the brighter lights. The pedi chairs were definitely nice. I called for a last minute appt and came in the same day. The staff was friendly and offered beverages. They have a pedi menu and I opted for the salt scrub pedi($35). The basic pedi is $25, decent price for this area. My pedi was nice and I received a nice scrub as massage. The paint job was meticulous and she took the time to clean up my nails. There was a strange odor in my area and it smelled of bad water. I'd suggest some candles or something to deflect this stench. All in all it was a nice experience and I would come back. read more

First and last time I'll ever go to this nail salon. Save yourself the TIME and money and DO NOT come here. It's OVERPRICED and the way do the nails is in a HORRIBLE QUALITY. Even a one star rating is too high for this TERRIBLE place. I got acrylics done and it costed $55 dollars. The nail technician charged me extra for getting the coffin shape, such a rip off. Their yelp page states that a full set of acrylics is $30, which blew my mind because of how much I was charged. Had the quality of my acrylics been amazing I wouldn't claim about the price but my nails look VERY BAD. When the nail technician was doing my acrylics, she DID NOT apply the nail polish all the way down to my cuticles which gave it the illusion of me having the acrylics for a couple weeks!!! Also a day later the nail polish was chipping!!!!! I have included a picture of my nails a ONE DAY later. Additionally, during the session my nail technician was VERY rude. She kept on asking me MANY rude and invasive questions. One in particular was, "Are you from Afghanistan?" I got so mad at this question. Just because I'm Muslim and wear the hijab DOES NOT mean I'm Afghani. The nail salon is run by Asian who I assume are from the same country. Had I asked if she was Chinese or Korean that would've been RACIST. Don't assume what you DON'T KNOW. Another thing that made me angry with this place was when the nail technician was using the shaving tool she kept burning my skin and each time I flinched, she LAUGHED AT ME. Lastly, throughout the session, the nail technician kept on getting up and servicing other people in the middle of my session. It took over TWO HOURS to get my acrylics applied. The majority of the time I was waiting for my nail technician who was servicing other people during MY session. read more

I decided to stop by since it's not too far from my new job and my regular manicurist was not available by the time I would get home! I brought my own nail polish cause I feel it last longer . The regular manicure is $15 which is what I normally pay at my regular spot. I had to ask if they charge extra for long nails and whatever else cause some places do. The lady who did my nails wasn't friendly, got her earpieces on and barely spoke to me... So I am used to manicure that includes hot towel, 30 seconds hand massage but none of that were included! So I was a bit confused cause change of nail polish is just that but I asked for a manicure. Will I go back? I'm going to start this off by saying and I have been coming to glassy nails since I was I kid. Throughout the years and changes of ownership, we have still supported this business whenever we needed pedicures or manicures close by to our house. However, in the past couple times we've been we have been disappointed and will not be coming back. It all started a couple months ago with pedicures we got in the salon. After a few days we noticed our toes were hurting (more so my mother's toes than mine) and she didn't think too much of it but being a licensed cosmetologist with knowledge in nails I knew something was wrong. As the day as went by, we developed nasty infections on our toes so much so that one of my toes was black around my toe nail for about a week. I immediately knew this was some type of fungus or an infection from their tools not being properly sanitized and them not using clean files or cleaning drill bits with every new client. The second major issue we had was the fact that this salon uses MMA which is a very harmful product when doing acrylics. MMA can cause severe damage to your nails (which is why your nails tend to be weak after taking off acrylics done with MMA) and is a cheaper alternative to EMA which SHOULD be used on nails. We went to another home based nail technician who warned my mother not to get her nails done here again after soaking her nails off. Another way to know if it's MMA is if when your soaking your nails off the acrylic is super slimy and takes forever to get off or if the smell of the salon is very strong in odor which is what was explained to her when getting her nails taken off. I wish I went with her to catch that before she put the acrylic on but unfortunately I couldn't make it to the appointment that day. read more

I had to stop the technician from cutting my toenails because I could see old nail clippings inside the nail clippers! She put away that set into her cabinet (not into the sanitizer) and hot a set out of the sanitizer (little blue bag). I could see old clippings in the tray used to hold the tools used on my wife...I did not see those come out of a bag. They reuse the nail files and purple sanding blocks...lots of other people's dead skin and ground toenails on those. We will not be back. read more

I went to Glassy nails today since they were the only ones open until 8pm near me and, boy, was I pleasantly surprised!! I walked in around 6:40pm and was greeted immediately and asked to sign in. TN started with my pedicure and didn't finish until 7:45pm. She was so thorough, that you would have never guessed it was almost closing time. And my nails were still not done! She took her time to make sure she did a good job. I felt so bad after realizing that she had a little 11 month old she had to pick up at home! Rachel did my nails, and was also so patient and kind. The manager Lyly talked to me during the process and just genuinely wanted to get to know me! She was so sweet and stayed behind while Rachel finished up. I apologized for making them late as I didn't think it would be this long but they had no problem with it! I honestly think these are the sweetest ladies in Burke! I left around 8:30, and they were so thankful for the business that they never complained! In fact, they asked me to come back again soon, and I most definitely will! read more

Sophia takes care of me each time I go to this wonderful, clean, and friendly salon. The chairs that I get my pedicure in our full on massage chairs. The ladies that work there are always sweet and willing to do anything you ask. I go every couple of weeks and Sophia is always there and ready to give me The best massage ever.
