I'm a regular at this shop and I've never had a bad experience. It was my first time getting my service done by Lily, and she might be the best nail tech I've ever received service from. She is extremely meticulous and knew the exact style i wanted.

By far the BEST nail salon in Northern Virginia! Over the years I have been to so many different salons but I will never go anywhere else now. I go pretty much once a month and I have never had anything but a wonderful experience. Best part of this salon is it doesn't really matter who you see because they are all amazing. I usually see Lily who is so great and so sweet. I see Rachel too who is just as amazing. Very clean, friendly, and talented! Highly recommend.

This place is under new management and everyone is so kind and helpful! I got acrylic nails and a pedicure and I cant be more happier! The pedicure went so smoothly and my feet haven't been so pretty and soft. My nails on the other hand, were phenomenal! They were perfect and I'm so excited to show them off. Couldn't be happier. Definitely will recommend to my friends.

I've been here two times and I've been very happy with my services. I only get gel mani and pedicure and eyebrow wax and I've loved how gentle and quick they work. I'm impressed with how clean they can get my cuticles and the gentle removal of the extra skin around my nails. They also offered me water and check in on me during my services. The massages are short for basic services but that is okay, the prices are good and I will keep coming back here when we visit the Burke area.

Broken nails after 2 days. Crazy.

I came in the salon to get a full set acrylic nails and pedicure and wax. After 2 days my acrylic manicure nails popped off. The nail lady rushed doing the acrylics, barely any filing.. I even had to tell her to fix the shapes of the nails because they were not straight. I had to pay before finishing my nail set and I am extremely unsatisfied and upset with my experience. She did it way too fast and when I wanted to switch the color she just kept using another color instead because she ready to go home. So awful I experienced this after paying $155 before my nails finished. Not coming back ever again. BE NICE TO CUSTOMER AND RESPECT WHAT THEY SAY. NO RUSH.

I went here for the first time today and I had a great experience! was able to come in and get in without an appointment and didn't have to wait too long. Lily did my nails and she was so sweet and i loved talking to her! Also really appreciated the offer of water/soda/juice that they had! Definitely will be coming back!!

Very bad experience. I have been here twice and both have been awful. I asked for coffin nails and they came out rounded and crooked. The gel polish started chipping and flaking off almost immediately which I've never experienced before. Why the second lady was doing my nails I was cut twice and she kept asking prying questions asking who had done my nails before because it was done so poorly, meanwhile it had been a lady at the same salon. Overpriced and bad quality.

First time coming to Glassy Nails and I am so impressed and so satisfied with my nails! I asked for a full set acrylic that was shaped tapered/coffin. I got Kim and she was wonderful! I have been wanting these nails that I have found on Pinterest for a long time. I usually go to Vivian's but I think I found my new go to nail salon I showed Kim a picture of what I wanted. She took a quick look at the picture and did an AMAZING job. She is very talented and knows exactly how to do nails. She took her time and went back to fix what she had to fix; which I really appreciated. Thank you Kim!

Acrylics were not applied all the way to my cuticles which made it look like I had it for a couple weeks. Nail polish chipped in ONE DAY.

First and last time I'll ever go to this nail salon. Save yourself the TIME and money and DO NOT come here. It's OVERPRICED and the way do the nails is in a HORRIBLE QUALITY. Even a one star rating is too high for this TERRIBLE place. I got acrylics done and it costed $55 dollars. The nail technician charged me extra for getting the coffin shape, such a rip off. Their yelp page states that a full set of acrylics is $30, which blew my mind because of how much I was charged. Had the quality of my acrylics been amazing I wouldn't claim about the price but my nails look VERY BAD. When the nail technician was doing my acrylics, she DID NOT apply the nail polish all the way down to my cuticles which gave it the illusion of me having the acrylics for a couple weeks!!! Also a day later the nail polish was chipping!!!!! I have included a picture of my nails a ONE DAY later. Additionally, during the session my nail technician was VERY rude. She kept on asking me MANY rude and invasive questions. One in particular was, "Are you from Afghanistan?" I got so mad at this question. Just because I'm Muslim and wear the hijab DOES NOT mean I'm Afghani. The nail salon is run by Asian who I assume are from the same country. Had I asked if she was Chinese or Korean that would've been RACIST. Don't assume what you DON'T KNOW. Another thing that made me angry with this place was when the nail technician was using the shaving tool she kept burning my skin and each time I flinched, she LAUGHED AT ME. Lastly, throughout the session, the nail technician kept on getting up and servicing other people in the middle of my session. It took over TWO HOURS to get my acrylics applied. The majority of the time I was waiting for my nail technician who was servicing other people during MY session.

I decided to stop by since it's not too far from my new job and my regular manicurist was not available by the time I would get home! I brought my own nail polish cause I feel it last longer . The regular manicure is $15 which is what I normally pay at my regular spot. I had to ask if they charge extra for long nails and whatever else cause some places do. The lady who did my nails wasn't friendly, got her earpieces on and barely spoke to me... So I am used to manicure that includes hot towel, 30 seconds hand massage but none of that were included! So I was a bit confused cause change of nail polish is just that but I asked for a manicure. Will I go back? No... let's work on the friendliness and also manicure should include a hot towel and that 30 seconds massage!

I only ever do simple cuts, nothing fancy. My haircut, done by Anderson (a level 3 stylist), is objectively good. The skill was there. But it's definitely shorter than I wanted it. Went in for a lob, came out with an asymmetrical bob...Honestly I was panicking while he was drying it because it was starting to look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek. I asked if he could style it like in the reference pictures I showed (simple waves, to reduce Farquaad-ness). He tried to do it with the brush/dryer, which obviously wasn't working, and didn't want to use a flatiron. So I just suffered through scalding heat on my scalp and hair pulling. I got told I don't have curly hair. I got told I don't have frizzy hair. I, in fact, have both of those. Some other minor things: 1. When I got home I had some hair that was noticeably longer than the rest, like it never got cut. So...I had to do it. Just a few strands, but normally stylists check for that when your hair is dry. 2. I almost never use heat on my hair, so I asked for recs and mentioned a specific brand doesn't work for me. He immediately said he loves that brand. I said yeah...but it doesn't work for me. Anything else? "Any salon brand." Cool. Not helpful. 3. Asked for something at the end to tame the pieces that were sticking out (again, I have frizzy hair). He looked...confused? Smoothing as a last step has been standard at every other place I've been to. There is nothing in the whole salon like that? Also, my introvert-self just wants to go somewhere where I don't have to be engaged in conversation the whole time. Anyway. Won't go back, my hunt continues.

Honestly, I absolutely love a place with character! I've posted pictures below because they made me cackle--some people might call the decor tacky, but I think it's hilarious. It was such a great takeaway from the experience. The inside has the standard massage chairs you'd expect, the vibe is very "chill and do your own thing," and I'm sure you could ask for tea or whatever else you need. I got a pedicure at the beginning of March (and I know I'm due for another one soon!), but get this: I just got regular polish--no gel or anything--and the color is still completely on my toenails! If you ask me, that is quality. Definitely worth it. If you're in a pinch or just in the area, go ahead and hit this spot. They will not disappoint!

I knew my feet needed a LOT of TLC to prepare for the spring/summer, after an intense winter of dry weather, resulting in cracked heels. I called an hour ahead for an appointment and ended up making it earlier than anticipated. The salon was empty when I walked in and the nail tech was immediately available to begin working on my feet. The salon has a decent selection of nail colors and I was quickly able to select one I liked.I will say that the massage chair they have for nails is not too comfortable. Although I was extremely sore from a tough workout the previous day and could've used a good massage, the automatic massage on the chair seemed to hurt more than help so I shut it off and simply sat in the chair. The nail tech brought me some magazines to flip through while she worked her magic. What followed was the best pedicure I've ever had! The nail tech was so detailed and thorough and literally worked on my cracked heels until she had removed every last piece of brittle skin. In the past, I've had nail techs spend as little as seconds removing the dry skin with a pumice stone, so I was thoroughly impressed with her attention to detail. She begain with a pumice stone, but quickly realized that wouldn't do the job, so she used a blade to remove the remainder and it worked like a charm (and was NOT painful). The massage she gave me while scrubbing my legs was amazing as well...it included using her hands, hot stones, and a hot towel left on for several minutes. I didn't feel like the process was rushed at all, as I've felt at other nail salons, and the end result was fantastic!! I will definitely be returning to Mia's, after a wonderful first experience!

I was surprised (but shouldn't have been, given her years of experience) that immediately she could tell that my skin used to be oily and that I was not a stranger to retinol. She did a deep exfoliating treatment on me and extracted an extremely stubborn and deep blackhead in my cheek that I'd had for months. I am a skincare nerd and even though I use exfoliating products regularly, she said that this treatment was more effective than over the counter or store-bought products. I believe her! My skin not only felt hydrated and glowy the rest of the day, but honestly felt so clean, soft, and kind of... lighter? Because it had been purged of all the heavy dirt and dead skin, I guess! You heard right - - not a $50 no-show fee, not 25% for a no-show. They wanted the entire amount upfront before I could have my next appointment. It was absolutely outrageous. The one facial I had was decent (I went in for foot reflexology today), but the aesthetician was pushy about me making future appointments.
