Kids absolutely loved it and so did me and my husband! Had tons of fun playing with our kids at many of the interactive zones.

To preface - I am writing this review as a mom of a 1.5 and 2.5 year old but providing my insight as a former homeschooled child (2nd grade - 6th grade) visiting museums ad nauseam. The set up of this museum is underwhelming but overwhelming in the moment. After purchasing tickets, you walk immediately into a water table area which is quite large but hard for little kids to interact with the water. By little kids, I mean 1.5 (walking age) to 3 yo old. Big kids are running around and throwing balls into the water and there are maybe 5 step stools total to use to reach the water. It might be a nice add to have a little kids water area attached to the larger water table. Plus the seating for parents are plastic Adirondack chairs. Maybe they're easier to clean or replace but additional benches might be a better use of the seating. All in all, it's a rather jolting start to the museum experience. Next, you have to go back out to the lobby area to catch ONE elevator to go up to the second and third floors. The second floor was so packed, we could hardly get off the elevator. I have to preface, we are in spring break but I kid you not, every single station and toy was being used and the kids were FERAL. Bigger kids were running around, shoving younger kids out of the way (lord of the flys iykyk) which is understandable cause 6-9 year old are hyped up too. But the set up was really hard to go from one area to the next without elbowing someone in the face. The stations were cool but the flow is not the best. Speaking for 6-9 year olds too, it seemed hard for them to really play cause there were so many little kids in the way. I'm not sure how to combat something like this (accommodate for diff age ranges) but there was simply not enough space overall. And no big jungle gym or trampoline area or plastic ball area with nets for the opportunity to fling their little kid bodies around. The third floor was extremely underwhelming and a poor use of space. I think the skeleton of the dinosaur takes up way too much room and the space can be utilized a lot better by brining it down to the area with the train set. Upstairs could be a huge opportunity for a jungle gym, plastic ball pits or netting or airplanes or something else that is a lot more interactive. I feel like the set up of the museum is off. There is no natural flow and people get stuck in each of the stations. Especially if you have multiple kids you're trying to chase, it's kinda a nightmare. All in all, we won't be returning until the kids are older and it's way too hot outside to do anything else. read more

This place is seriously packed during spring break around 11 AM. We were trying to figure out something to do with my seven-year-old son on a Tuesday during spring break. We get free children museum tickets through my husband's work so this seemed like a no-brainer. We were pretty slow getting ready in the morning, but I was hopeful that since it was a Tuesday, it wouldn't be super packed. I knew it was spring break, but I was hoping that people would be traveling for spring break. I was wrong. It was crazy. The ground floor and the third floor, where there were the dinosaurs were manageable. If I only saw those floors, I would think this isn't that bad. It was the second floor, where all the people were. On the second floor in the area, where there's the pretend shopping area, the fire station, and other things, there were parents just standing around because it was too packed to go into the section. I'm lucky that my son is not adverse to crowds, and he ran in and out of areas pretty quickly, but if I had a child that didn't like chaos, I would avoid this place. I remember before going right when they open and it wasn't that crowded, so I think that's the best game plan is hit this place up right when it opens and then leave around 11 when it starts getting really crowded. All the exhibits are pretty cute. This is a nice place to bring the kids where there aren't screens. They seem to learn a lot. We ended up spending only about half an hour because a lot of the areas was so busy, and again I didn't feel bad leaving quickly since the tickets were free for us. Park in the Poe garage, you want to go up to the fourth floor to the section closest to the museum and it's really easy to get to the museum from there. Parking was about six dollars for two hours. It was really easy for us to walk to grab a bite to eat after we left the museum. I really like this location, because it's very convenient to spend a day in downtown Tampa. read more

They have so many different things like a water area, grocery shopping, farm section and this time they had a blanket fort section which was super cool! It's a great place for the littles! We had a really good experience at the Glazer Children's Museum! There were so many hands-on activities that kept the kids busy and engaged for hours. We easily could have packed a lunch and spent the entire day exploring everything the museum has to offer. It was interactive and offered something for a variety of ages. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that a few areas could use a refresh, but overall it's a fun place and definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a Florida resident and then it's only $20 per person. read more

Amazing place! Grandchildren always have a great time when we come here. From making pizzas, to the ice cream parlor, ambulance and the new fort area. Their imaginations and play are refreshing to watch. Just watching them be children, play, laugh and use their imagination takes me back before tablets took over. Glazer's Children Museum is a great venue to take your children to if you're ever in the heart of downtown Tampa, Florida. It's in a great location, sitting between the Tampa-Hillsborough Public Library, Tampa Museum of Art, and the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. So while making the Glazer's Museum the main event, you can take your children to the park or along the Tampa Riverwalk afterwards. With the William F Poe (Poe) Parking Garage conveniently located next to it, you can enjoy a relatively hassle-free drive to the venue. You pay for the parking up front. While there is no parking fee waive with the museum, you're spending approximately $3 an hour for parking that has overhead protection and is fairly secured. Like most other children's museums around the nation, Glazer's is suited for toddlers to children approximately 5 years of age. The themes and areas may not necessarily be appealing to anyone older than that. And like most other children's museums, the areas and "exhibits" are centered around the aspects of daily life (such as supermarkets, doctors, veterinarians, farms, etc.) With that being said, the Glazer's Children Museum is a spacious three-stories in size. I came here with my youngest on a Saturday, and while there was a steady stream of families through the venue, I never felt too cramped or crowded. On the first floor, you'll find a small store along with a food court area. There is also a rather large elevator to accommodate multiple families with strollers which is quite nice. It is also where you will find the first museum area/exhibit. It is a sizeable water exhibit so the kids naturally gravitate toward it. Prepare to get wet, but have no fear they do provide a limited number of splash bibs! There is also a set of stairs that ranges all the levels of the museum, if you don't want to use the elevator. What immediately stands out with the Glazer's Children Museum over most other children's museums is the hanging "climber" (essentially a transparent maze of various level platforms that your child can safely navigate through) and a section on the second floor, aptly named "Forts" (this is where your kids can essentially play and build forts from the usual household furniture and furnishings. The third floor is dedicated to their dinosaur/Triceratops exhibits. It's actually pretty cool if you find yourself geeking out over dinos. Also with the reciprocal membership from another venue, admission to Glazer's in the month of October was entirely free. Overall, a great place to visit at least once with your young children! read more

This is the best children's museum we've been to. It has multiple things for all age ranges. My 5 yr old and 9 yr old both enjoyed doing their own things there. We spent 2 hours easily and they struggle to do the same activity for more than an hr. I thought the price was high- 2 adults + 2 children was $100 but once we got into the exhibits I realized it was worth it. The people working there were nice although I didn't see any museum attendees other than at the front desk. It was clean. Everything was working and looked to be in good shape. There wasn't much to the top floor dinosaur exhibit other than a large dinosaur replica. It was kinda a waste of space but a good place to end the museum trip with. Plenty of street parking and nearby garage parking also. I also appreciated that the museum entry is for all day so you can leave and come back if needed. read more

Fun museum for kids 6 and younger. Our older kids enjoyed the climbing space but other than that not much for them. My little one had a blast. There are plenty of interactive spaces but they also feel like you do it once it is not worth coming back unless you have a 1-3yr old. We had a free pass due to reciprocity with our Dali Museum passes for the month of August. Otherwise I don't think I would make the drive from Orlando. It is clean, plenty of hand sanitizing spaces and kid friendly bathrooms. There is one main elevator which is very slow and a bit chaotic with kids and parents jostling for a spot. Park your stroller downstairs if possible and use the stairs if you can and don't want to spend a long time waiting for the elevator. read more

Nice little children's museum for a rainy day activity. Some of the interactive areas are a bit small so it can get a bit chaotic when there are a lot of kids there all at once. The pretend grocery store, restaurants, farm, doctors office, and fire stations offer lots of little activities. The dinosaur exhibit on the 3rd floor will be a hit for any Dino lovers. The water area also offers lots of fun interactive experience as well. I do wish they would keep their hand sanitizers refilled though. This is a nice Children's museum. There's a variety of stimulating activities from a giant climbing tree to theater to a hospital with a CT scanner. They can go shopping at Publix and farming. They can go dig up a dinosaur. They can steer a ship through water as the rain comes down. My daughter had a great time. There are some things that are broken and need attention/mending. The Publix area needs more shopping carts and more food for sure and they need to have staff there to ensure kids put things back. It's basically a mess there. First time at this museum and WoW! A very underwhelming museum lots of space and not enough exhibits! At least 50% of everything here is broken! The kids spent most of the time on the second floor playing with the vet, doctor, grocery store, ice cream shop, and the fire department play areas. I tried to interact with some of the learning things in this same area, but the interactive levers knobs and everything else were broken in this area. The kids did have fun in the acting area changing different outfits behind the curtain, the newer Forts exhibit was a let down, again wasted space. The water table, however cool the plastic floating pieces used to channel the water float away and the pieces to block or channel water flow for learning purposes doesn't work and is also broken. I looked at my wife and I said, the Gainesville Museum is half the size of this museum, but has more stuff that isn't broken. Upon leaving my kids were excited to see what the gift shop offered, but were sad to find a small sad little "trolley closet cart" for the gift shop. This is a huge afterthought given the size of this museum and what it could offer. A small café was also underwhelming but decently priced. **Overall. Not too impressed with this museum. I wish it had more to offer. Just a single dinosaur exhibit is also a waste of space on the 3rd floor they could add so much more and move the dinosaur exhibit to the first floor. read more

I've never been to the children's museum or was aware that there was nearby in downtown Tampa. Best parking is the garage next door, William Poe Parking. They charge via app or by your license plate. Parking was tight and full even though we arrived 10 minutes before opening. It's also parking for the art museum next door and the library. I would advise to come early for a good parking spot. Upon entrance, you'll notice the self serve food area and the first attraction is the water play area. There's also a climbing area but the steps were too steep for small children so we passed. Second floor had the stores, farms, and all you can think of. Third floor was closed so we didn't get to see the other attractions that were there. I don't know if it's always been that way or if they're remodeling but it was off limits. It was very busy, even going as they opened up but it was fun and there was plenty to do. What do you do when you fly in from Cali to celebrate your daughter's birthday only to be greeted by freezing temperatures and rainy weather??? YOU TAKE YOUR PARTY TO THE MUSEUM. It was unfortunate that I had to reschedule our Magic Kingdom day due to inclimate weather, but lucky for us to have found this place. There were 8 in our group, all different ages, and we all found something enjoyable to participate in. The parking was a bit challenging to find for outsiders but might be a little easier for locals. The museum: so many things to see and do and play with. The first floor has a snack bar, and to the right there is a large "splash pool" with a storm/ weather center. Second floor is where it's at. There is a leaf climbing area, a baseball area, a craft area, a building area, a play food area, a build your own airplane area, and a music area. For those who need something to do indoor, this place is definitely a must try... at least once. read more

What an awesome museum!!!! I really wished we had one this incredible at home. We spent 4 hours here and the kids didn't get to explore all the areas. There is something for kids if all ages. The water table play to learn of water movement and flow, to the dramatic play (supermarket aka Publix, farm, vet, hospital, ambulance, fire truck, fire station. To creative play, music, dance, building blocks, building vehicles, theatre, sand for ocean exploration, tent homes, and the incredible structural platform that is a blend of art and play for the kids. This is a cute, decent-sized children's museum in downtown Tampa. I took my 4 and 6 year old, and they enjoyed 2 hours of indoor fun. Parking is at the pay structure next door. It's only $1 per hour, but that structure definitely makes me feel claustrophobic with its sharp and narrow turns. We paid 50% off because of our MOSI membership. I think I might have been a little disappointed to pay full fare (although if you become an annual member and can return multiple times over the year, it's probably a decent deal). A lot of the stuff they have is too young for my 6 year old, and the place was pretty crowded besides, so it's not a great deal at $16 per person unless you think you'll spend several hours there. There are a lot of exhibits and stations spread out over two floors. My kids loved the climbing area that "taught" about the water cycle (mostly they liked climbing the giant cloud/petals). My son loved the Lego area. My daughter enjoyed making a craft in the craft area and also making a paper airplane. I applaud the concept of the area dedicated to classic children's books, but I don't know how successfully they all translated to something that kids would actually want to do that would actually advance their reading skills. I won't lie. There was a funny smell around the boating area and around the craft area. They have hand sanitizer stations throughout, but there's a griminess to the place. Many exhibits were closed or poorly maintained. I'm not sure if that's just a casualty of the current labor shortages or poor management. Certainly, the workers I met seemed kind and enthusiastic about their area. But this was a place that I don't really need to visit again, even at half off. read more

So, my son wanted to visit this museum right after watching the Blippi special when he visited the museum. This place has a strong nautical theme due to the port and that was pretty fun. To be honest, coming from Orlando, this museum definitely pales in comparison to the Science museum. My husband did a search to see if there were any children's museums we could take our kids to while we were in the Clearwater area. We got tickets online and walked right in with our passes we printed out for a easy check in. The museum is huge and little ones can spend hours here if you let them ;) The exhibits keep the kids entertained and involves a whole lot of interactive play. Our six and three year olds loved playing grocery shopping, driving a fire truck, making pizza, using boats to float, etc. There are plenty of things to do and it can be fun for the adults too! This place was amazing with the CDC guidelines. We wore a mask the entire time we were there and constantly was going from one thing to the next with developmental activities for the kids to enjoy. It wasn't crowded when we went and the staff was constantly cleaning rotating different sections at a time. It was an energetic, fun, and safe afternoon! read more

The Glazer Children's Museum had the Daniel Tiger Exhibit through Labor Day. Our boys love Daniel Tiger so we made the trip from Orlando to Tampa to pay it a visit. We absolutely loved the exhibit and the entire museum! Parking is across the street in a parking garage. It's $2 per hour is $8 for 24 hours. The garage has an elevator so is handicap accessible or easy for parents with strollers. The first floor of the museum includes a ginormous water table, little kiddie area perfect for small babies to crawl and explore and a little boat that little ones can pretend to drive. My boys LOVED the water table. The museum offers water resistant smocks to keep children dry. The second floor has a play kitchen, farm animals, pretend grocery store, fire station, ambulance, veterinarian, jungle gym and the Daniel Tiger exhibit! My boys were most excited for the Daniel Tiger exhibit which included interactive characters that talked after pulling a lever or pushing buttons, a juke box that played Daniel Tiger songs, the Tiger house, a story book sitting area. The kids could pretend to deliver mail too! Their second favorite area was the Publix grocery store with pretend shopping carts and all the food group represented. The staff even hosted a building blocks competition. Each family were provided blocks to build the tallest tower and there was a prize for the winning family. The Glazer Children's Museum was a lot of fun and we're glad we made the trek to Tampa. If we lived closer, we would definitely invest in an annual membership. read more

Our son fully enjoyed his visit here! Loved the vision and sound area with pianos, kaleidoscope drawing with light was cool. My son favored the fire department and loved going down the pole from the top to bottom floor. The water area was a blast too! I loved the mini skyway bridge and my son loved the wfla news/storm set up. Great museum and so much for kids to do here to let there creativity and imagination grow! My only setback were the "clouds". I can't remember what it's called but it's platforms and netting for kids to climb high above and that set off my anxiety. I feared my son would find a ripped area in the net and fall out. So, if you're like me: don't let them climb in that area. read more

My family visited the museum for Children's Board Free Tuesday. This occurs on the first of every month. Adults and children are able to get free admission. A donation is optional. This worked out great for my little family since my only child is 1. We had a fantastic time and particularly visited to attend the Daniel Tiger Exhibit. If your child is a fan, I highly recommend going. Everything is hands on and many cute photo ops. Masks are recommended and hand sanitizer stations are everywhere. I do wish Daniel Tiger made an appearance as I have seen posted on the museum's social networks but that happens randomly. Overall, it was a very nice place for us to spend an hour or two at. Why 4 stars? Because it's another place to keep our kid happy for an hour or two. --- --- --- Our weekends are basically centered around occupying our 19 month old these days. Lately, we seem to be on a tour of places like this where we can just put him down and let him run around aimlessly. This is a fine option for that. Most of the kids running around here were a bit older than him, but he seemed to have fun in plenty of the various rooms. The whole first floor was definitely geared more toward kids older than him, but he had plenty of fun on the second floor. We purchased our tickets online in advance, which I believe is required during COVID-19 times. Our registered time was to arrive anytime between 2p-3p and there was no time limit. Our son got really crabby at around the 90 minute mark, so that's when we headed out for the day. Fortunately, walking outside next door to run around in Curtis Hixon Park quickly turned around his temper tantrum. Our experience at the park almost made it seem as if Curtis Hixon was just an extension of the museum! read more
