They asked questions about my camper height length, utility needs and matched me to a perfect-for-me quiet campsite. Art is the cruise director. He is always available to chat with guests and ensure they are having the best experience. Evan is not on staff. Evan is such a beautiful soul making sure everyone feels welcomed and connected here. The facilities are good, but this review is about those little orange stickers they make you put on your camera lens. Personally, I didn't take my mobile device into the pool area, but my partner did and so used the stickers. The problem is this: afterwards, the removed sticker left a horrid mess. Nearly impossible to get off entirely (and left the camera useless for awhile). Alcohol didn't work very well, and you shouldn't really use that anyway as it strips away the delicate anti-reflective coatings and the oil-repellent layer on the glass. If you're going to require sticker use, get stickers that peel off easily and not leave a glob of sticky junk on your lens. read more

This review is based on 10 visits over the past two plus years, including three Dare To Be Bare 5K runs: The Experience: My first visit here was my first experience in a resort of this type, and as a single male, I thought it would be uncomfortable. This was not the case. I was comfortable and welcomed. That first day at the 5K run was life-changing and opened up a new experience that I continue to enjoy. I found the other guests to be accepting and engaging. No matter what your interest, you will find something to do. I am not a hang-by-the-pool and drink kind of person. I want to hike, bike ride, work out, and just walk in the sun. There is something here for everyone. The Facilities: I can't tell the number of times I had to find another shower or restroom because the one I was intending on using was being cleaned. I can't complain about that. The dry camping area has just got a large upgrade, additional paddle ball courts have been added. It seems that the facilities are constantly in a state of improvement. The Staff: Without exception, the staff has always been friendly and polite from the front office down to maintenance staff. As they drive by in golf carts, they never fail to wave, and the staff at the café are exceptionally friendly. K.C. is pure joy. I have also sent a few emails to the office with questions and always received a quick and friendly response. The Management: In the just over two years that I have visited, I never had an occasion to talk to Art. My first impression of him was when he had to deal with a person at the pool who had too much to drink. He de-escalated the situation and dealt with it exceptionally well, with the offending person having a staff member stay with him as he cooled down. My only personal interactions were brief words, to say the least. While I have seen a few reviews here who may have been critical, I simply didn't experience that. The residents speak very highly of him, without exception. In my most recent visit, for the 2025 5K, I spoke with him for a few minutes. He was friendly and engaging, and after the short talk, he did something that impressed me: he asked for my name. At that point, the conversation became personal and he lived up to the residents description. The Residents: The one thing that everyone needs to understand is that when you visit this resort, you are visiting someone's home. If you were to visit a new friend's house, you would show respect to them and their property, and you would show thanks when you leave. Visiting GE is no different. The residents that I have interacted with have been exceptionally friendly. The first person I ever spoke to at GE was a resident, not a guest, and that helped shape my thought process. I'm sure, however, after a long weekend, the residents are glad to see everyone go home, just like when guests visit my home. The Dare To Be Bare 5K run: This event is run exceptionally well. There is no doubt why it sells out. The swag is great, the support is great, and will certainly continue to compete. All the residents cheering as you pass their homes is encouraging and the atmosphere is electric. One thing happened this year that is worth noting: A runner suffered a cardiac event, collapsed, and had to have CPR administered, and an automated defibrillator had to be used. I don't want to speculate on the details, but he was sitting up when I passed him. The staff, residents, and other runners saved his life, by all accounts. He was in all the runners thoughts and I hope he is doing well. Perhaps, as this event grows, a medic might be hired to be on location during the event. Final thoughts: Scattered throughout the property are small painted river stones; these stones have words and phrases on them. Some are faded, but others look new. I don't know if it's just a resident who does it or if it's something that is done by the staff, but they don't go unnoticed; they are on prominent stones, on benches, on residents' property. They are everywhere. If you are interested in visiting, let me leave you with the words from three stones I discovered during my last visit: Just Be You, Live, You Can! read more

Glen Eden is a wonderful place. It is family friendly. They started a youth program, once a month. If you're a family and you show up on a weekend, that does not have a youth program on the calendar for that day , you can let the office know in advance and they can contact a volunteer who coordinates youth activities, so she could set something up for you. They have rules in order to promote safety, peace and harmony, and those rules are enforced. The people at Glen Eden are very friendly and visitors, of all ages, are very much welcomed. I'm on the fence if id recommend this place. I've only been there once and although I didn't have the best experience I'd like to give it another chance. First off my husband and I took a trip to AZ and planned a visit to one place in AZ and this one on the way back In advanced. We scheduled a tour. Even called twice to confirm our visit. We even called a few hours prior to arriving. We get in and the lady at the desk was like we don't do tours today. And who scheduled it. She realized she was wrong and tried finding us a tour guide. We could literally hear her calling residence. Finally after the 4th call someone agrees. I'd also like to add no one was smiling, or welcomed us or asked how our day was or even how our drive was, we had driven 6 -7 hours. Just to just visit this place. The only lady who was nice was an older lady with curly hair, who I bought a towel from. Anyways I'm already feeling off putting, then the "tour guide" comes. He tells us to follow him. So he's in his cart while we're following him in his golf cart while he's just pointing at things. We finally get to the pool, he gets out. As I'm exiting my vehicle he walks up and just very aggressive goes, "hey, ok. I need to ask you guys a question" and I just knew what he was going to ask just by his tone. He says "have you guys ever been to a place like this?" I tell him yes and we love it. He then says "ok good, so then i don't need to tell you" .. then proceeds to tell us about how folks come here for the wrong reasons, and how they get banned on the first visit. How this place used to be just families and now people think it's for other things. Enduring 20 mins of lecturing as he's walking us to the pool area talking just so loud. I just wanted to go at that point. He asks do we have any questions. I said nope, I just want to set up my camp. I'm just glad this wasn't my first naturalist resort and he wasn't my first tour guide to a place. I probably never wouldn't have stayed let alone come back. With that said the camping site was nice and huge. We found a great spot to set up. After some coaxing from my husband we went down to the pool. I literally just didn't feel welcomed to go. But I'm glad we did. the water was nice. Especially the indoor pool. It was very well heated. I would never recommend this place to a friend as a first time guest. 2 stars for the pools and camping site. read more

We're back at GE for a week this time! Participating in group actives such as art classes, Bunco (I even won some cash!), water aerobics, disc golf and hanging out at the dog park with the other dog parents have been a great way to meet new people and enjoy our stays even more! I've learned a lot since first coming here years ago like how to use the laundry facilities and how much easier showering is at one of the shower facilities rather than the rental unit and never to miss fried chicken or pizza night. I've recently been thoroughly inspired to teach an art class here and will be doing that during our next visit in September! There's a real magic happening here that I can only explain as being like "Camp for Adults". With so many activities happening, it's almost like being a kid again and I'm starting to see how the friendships I have outside of here aren't the same as the friendships I've made inside of here...they're better! read more

Weird things art made up as to why I couldn't keep my year membership I paid 565 $ for. I went 4 times b4 getting gold membership and that was a fudge up on front desk for not keeping records. Wonderful experience all around! Friendly staff at front gate/office. Tour guide was great and answered all questions. They were celebrating their 60 year birthday today 7/9/23 with plenty of food and music and places to sit in the sun or shade. I've been to clothing optional beaches in the past and this was my wife's first experience ever being unclothed in public and she was doing this for me basically, she was hooked immediately and felt comfortable being in her birthday suit (yay!). Back to the premises: very clean pools, bathrooms, showers, courts, etc... Lots of activities to be had throughout the day. We were given free passes for another day to return and will return this week being that we are here in California for a week. Overall, a must for anyone interested in trying this lifestyle out or for others who have done this before. read more

Had a very mixed experience here this past weekend. Came out on a Friday afternoon and booked a 20-ft RV for the evening as well as a day pass for Saturday. Checked into my trailer and the keys literally snapped in half, I was locked out. Called the front desk and was asked to bring them back in exchange for another pair. No one wanted to drive a new pair over to me.. fine. Second pair snapped in half again- unbelievable. This has never happened to me in my entire life. They ended up moving me into a different unit. People at the resort seemed very click-y but I get along with pretty much everyone, except this incredibly rude Hispanic lady at the smoke pit who works on site who, after I sat down Friday evening to join everyone for a smoke, told me to "Close my legs" as I was sitting on the benches nude. "Close my legs"??? Aren't we at a nudist resort? I guess I should have to make accommodations for whatever sort of sexual trauma she must have suffered from in the past. God forbid you see a... GASP... penis, at a nudist resort! The horror! Another guy "Ted" or "Tom" - very pompous and arrogant, muttered under his breath something about "people at this resort seem 'sus' ... clearly a jab at me" - trust, I have more class in my pinky finger than this prick has in his whole body. I probably won't ever be back. Very judgmental, rude and arrogant vibes throughout, when it should be a loving and accepting environment. This place is wonderful. I stayed overnight several times during the year and found the accommodations clean and in good working order. Great water volleyball. There are multiple pools for different activities. The office staff and housekeeping are phenomenal and very responsive. There's plenty to walk around and see. They have a memorial park up on the bluff to commemorate loved ones that are no longer with us. There is hiking and many friendly people. They even have a dog park. read more

Glen Eden offers a clean facility and beautiful grounds to enjoy social nudism in a safe and healthful environment. The club has a great gym, water aerobics classes 3x a week, and fitness and yoga classes daily. On grounds, there is a disc golf course, a Radio-Controlled Race course and numerous walking/hiking trail opportunities. People keep active also on well-maintained pickle ball courts and tennis courts, with free clinics and zero fees for court time. Live Bands, DJ's and many "themed" weekend events keep everyone hopping and bopping. As true with other live-in resorts, you'll find more retired baby boomers than younger couples. However, the weekends draw a large and younger set from the Los Angeles and San Diego area as well as Las Vegas and Arizona. Social nudism is not for everyone, however Glen Eden has been a delight for its members and visitors for over 50 years. read more

Glen Eden might as well be a elderly cult nestled in a run down trailer park. It has the feel of an abandoned city. There are planned activities but rather you have to knock on Mary's trailer door. The one two to the left with the blue lights. What the actual f#%^. We were toted around for an hour on their required tour which I might add was pretty damn useless as there's NOTHING to see. One average pool center, trailers, tennis courts, trailers, stacked rocks and oh look more trailers! Online glen Eden looks like a fun oasis but what it actually is is a dumpy trailer park filled with mostly old men. Trust me save the gas or better yet just say screw it and go to glen ivy instead. You can't be naked but at least it feels clean. If you're looking for a fun naked resort this is surely not it. If you're 55+ and your life seems to be crumbling I'm sure this bunch of weirdos will welcome you. read more

I once wrote a positive review on Google for this place, but now that I have had time to speak to former employees and patrons my view of the place has totally changed. This isn't to say a niche few wouldn't enjoy Glen Eden on a day to day basis, but the only real reason to come here is for the large events that they host. Even when a large event is being hosted I am not exactly sure most people would be comfortable here anyways. The biggest turn off for myself, and I'm sure for most of the population who might seek to try this place on for size, was their focus on children. I can't condone the open promotion of bringing children, not to say child nudists shouldn't exist and be allowed the same freedom as adults but only to express my deep concern with active promotion of it. The place is made up mostly of old men with unrelenting scowls for anyone other than their cult-like group, and the amount of pretentious and hateful individuals in the place who seek to oust anyone who doesn't share every one of their sentiments is suffocating to say the least. Another suffocating factor is their lack of any real, competent authority within their little diner. The food they serve would be better labeled as retirement home essentials, and they actively want the food to be boring and bland. Their front of house staff are unreliable, and the back of house overworked to the point of utter exhaustion. If it weren't for constant and unrelenting nepotism, and the plethora of creepy old men, then I assume the place could really thrive. No matter what they say I can't bring myself to find the desire to return. When I was there it felt more like these individuals valued nudity only if it meant others could see them and their genitalia, and less about being able to take part in a healthy and comfortable lifestyle of nudism. Perhaps if it weren't for their overcompensation, putting restrictions where they'd do no good and ignoring critical flaws, I'd be able to muster the will to try it out again. read more

I spent so much of my adolescence here. I remember Ray and Mildred so well. I would visit with Mildred every weekend we were there. I have the best memories from my childhood from here. My very first job was at the Sunshine Cafe! We used to have talent nights, softball games, and so much more fun. I remember talent night, we did "Harley Brown" instead of Charlie Brown (yep, it's an oldie) So many families would be there, tons of kids. So many people I wish I had stayed in contact with. I was 12 the last time we were there. I don't know why we quit going. I really wish we hadn't quit going. I'm 53 now and someday, I will have to go for a visit. I wish families would get back into the outdoor and nature aspect of life and go camping again like we used to. read more

Although we don't see many kids here lately it is definitely kid friendly. Bad behavior is dealt with swiftly and fairly in my experience. I am a member of Glen Eden Sun Club. This is a fabulous place to enjoy the sunny Southern California climate. The resort has 3 beautiful pools plus a brand new conversation pool. They are well maintained, clean, and sparkling. There are so many amenities that you will always find an activity to enjoy. Or you can relax by the pool all day and do nothing but soak up the rays and good vibes. There are several pickleball courts, tennis courts, and a raceway course for little fun motorized cars. We have a wonderful Art Studio where you can take classes or work independently on your own projects. There is a kiln to fire ceramics and pottery, a large air-conditioned inside studio as well where you can watch YouTube videos for inspiration and peruse the many art books which are available free to everyone. I am a beginner but the volunteer teachers are very supportive and patient. I have made many beautiful art pieces in spite of my lack of talent! Every Saturday there is a ukulele jam session where beginners are more than welcome. They have loaner ukuleles so everyone is welcome. It's really a blast. We have a quite large dog park which is enjoyed by our furry friends! We have hiking trails all over. Plus you can walk all over the acreage and meet lots of friendly ppl. Some are full time residents and some come in their RV's for a peaceful wknd getaway. We have dances every wknd. Now that it's summer, we have them outside with live music. Great bands. We have excellent management that keeps the place running smoothly. We had great compliance with COVID and management did a great job keeping us safe unlike some communities that had high caseloads. Management specifically Art and Steve did a very good job protecting us from recent floods and fires in our area. No homes were lost here due to their tireless efforts. Art and Steve are fair and competent in their management and stay true to our mission statement which proclaims "peace and harmony." You won't ever see a HOA with peace and harmony in their bylaws! As a woman I feel safe here. More safe than outside our gates bc respect and good behavior is expected and honored. Anything less than complete respect for those in our community is swiftly remediated. We have a close knit community that is kind and helpful as well as compassionate. I am taking a friend to a medical appointment tomorrow. Ppl bring you food if you are sick and run errands for you. We look out and take care of each other. In our current polarizing political culture, Glen Eden is like a breath of fresh air. It's the way communities used to be. We talk to each other, we know and care about our neighbors and we have zero crime. Come visit sometime. Ppl are friendly and supportive. Go to a free yoga class, strength building, play cards, play pool, sing at karaoke. Enjoy our gorgeous landscaping, have a meal at the Cafe and relax. We have a wonderful club with great and competent management with Steve, Art, and our Board of Directors. We are a non profit, member owned club with a commitment to excellence and integrity.
