The parking lot is a decent size so we didn't have any issues with parking. The entire trail is wide and gravelly on a lot of the trail. It feels spacious and well maintained. Be careful going downhill due to the gravel and it is best to have hiking shoes and not running shoes to prevent from slipping. There is a decent amount of bathrooms along the way, which is great! There is limited shade so if you go in the summer, consider a hat. Also if going in the warmer months, I would come early to beat the heat. Bring lots of water to stay hydrated and possibly a picnic lunch to enjoy when you reach the top! You will see a historic cabin site along the way. The best view is from the top, which gives you panaramic lake views. It's truly beautiful and such an amazing reward when you reach the top! The views are spectacular!

To get there you…read morehave to driving a fair way along a winding dirt road that has more than a few potholes, but the views of the valley and hills are well worth the drive. The six campsites are quite separated from each other so you don't have to worry about hearing your neighbors. It is BLM land so you don't have to keep your dogs on leash. Boudicca and Jules Verne had a Blast running around the woods while we stayed here. The majority of the trees are Madrone and I have always been fond of those trees. There is some poison oak to watch out for, but just a little here and there. Great spot for car camping!

There are many trails that you can go on at this state park. Like many have mentioned, the parking…read morelot is rather small and so it's best to arrive early. The parking lot can fill up and in that case, you will have to park farther down and walk to the trailhead. The earlier you start your hike, the more likely it wil be that you find parking, especially if you are going on a weekend. There are no bathrooms near the parking lot. There is also not a parking fee. We took the Table Rock Trail, which is about 4.4 miles total. It had amazing views. The trail has a rock labyrinth along the way that was fun to see. The trail is very rugged with lots of rocks the father you hike up this trail so come prepared with lots of water, hiking shoes, and dress in layers. The views from the top were amazing. There were areas with ice on the trail so be careful when hiking. There is a more popular trail to Mount Saint Helena that is very popular as well. We have not taken that trail yet, although plan to in the future. We will definitely be back at this state park and look forward to exploring the other trails.

First you have to…read morecross the Little Rock Cemetery to get to the trail that takes you to the ledge of a giant sink hole. If this doesn't feel like an adventure to you yet then find the hole in the safety fence, locate a rope that is tied around a tree and climb down to the little beach below. After all of that and your still feeling brave then enter the dark cave which leads you to the crashing waves. This cave would be absolutely perfect for some kind of sea monster movie because it is big enough for a giant sea serpent. I'm totally afraid of heights but I'm so glad that I was brave enough for this memorable adventure. Who said you can't rappel down to the sink hole wearing a pink pencil dress?
