I'm also not sure why the locals perk would be limited to only Mondays. Something available throughout the week would make more sense for people who live here. Prices are definitely on the high side, which is understandable in a small mountain town, but a small loyalty perk for locals would go a long way. During the summer I was also told they could make sandwiches during the day but couldn't slice deli meat, which seemed a bit odd and a little confusing as a customer.

The prices are great. The store is laid out very well. Produce is arranged nicely and is so colorful. They have a few produce items that most grocery stores in the area don't carry. They also carry quite a few different brands of food that are also not in any of our local grocery stores. They source their meat locally and have a nice variety of meats and seafood. The bakery is nice. Open to watch them work and I think most things are made at this location. It's a fun, different grocery shopping experience. These are not independent merchants. All of this merchandise is part of the grocery store so you go there if you want to pay. Last time I was here the mini mall was closed and boarded up. You could look through the boards and see it in shambles so I am very happy to see that is no longer the case!

I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh.
