I was making a trip to Estes Park and a friend of mine who vacations there often suggested taking a little detour to Glen Haven General Store for a cinnamon roll. It was out of the way and for a roll, my husband was NOT pleased but we did it anyway. He said to get there early, which we did, but the store didn't end up opening until I think 9 a.m. We waited for half an hour or so. There were hummingbirds outside and pretty scenery. We hadn't made it too far into the mountains so we were itching to get back on the road and then...it opened! A line had started to form as opening got closer and we filed in as soon as the doors unlocked. I got a roll and a $.25 cup of coffee and headed out. I got myself situated in the car to enjoy the treat. It looked good but I was still not convinced it was the most amazing thing ever. And then I tasted it. Mmm. You know how the inside of a cinnamon roll is the best part? Well, the WHOLE roll is that way and it was quite delicious. And yes, it was worth the detour and the wait. I saw people carrying boxes of them out and my friend also told me when they are gone for the day, they are gone. Definitely a little gem in Estes Park. GO THERE! Oh yes, I see in other reviews about the owner being kind of rude. Uh, yeah, he is. Kind of like the I didn't want to get out of bed today kind of people. But I just stayed positive and it went smoothly.

Delicious cinnamon rolls. Call ahead if you want more than 6. They also have a few flavors of ice cream and some deli sandwiches. Sandwiches are pretty good but on the smaller side.

We always go to Glen Haven for their wonderful cinnamon rolls and it's a nice drive to the store. I do wish though they would make some cinnamon rolls with raisins in.

My mom used to buy us kids some cinnamon rolls to split and it was one of my favorite memories from summer.

We've been coming to Grand Lake area for many years for camping trips and Air B&B stays and inevitably forget something or need something for dinner. The prices are relatively affordable so we don't need to drive to City Market in Granby and the people are always kind and helpful and welcoming upon entering the store. I love the flowers and picnic tables out front making it a happy experience. The interior is spacious but jam packed with good products and decent selection of foods and grocery stuff. They even have a little deli inside!! Their produce was in great condition and I bought a gorgeous bunch of fresh cilantro, a healthy chunk of fresh ginger and a lovely garlic bulb for my stir fry dinner for a couple bucks. Then I forgot rice and went back and got jasmine rice and ingredients for chocolate chip cookies!! LOL! This is an awesome market!!

To make matters worse, I was charged twice on my card. After I had already paid and left the store, an employee chased me outside and insisted I pay again, even though my card had already been charged. It was frustrating, embarrassing, and completely unacceptable. I left feeling disrespected and unsatisfied with the entire experience. I would not recommend this business based on how I was treated and the lack of care in handling my payment.

We ordered two different kinds of sandwiches, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The flavor was completely on point, everything was so fresh, and they make it right in front of you. The deli is run by a super cute couple, and you can tell how much care they put into their business. We happened to visit during the shoulder season, so luckily the line wasn't very long. However, I've heard from others that this place is super popular, and during the peak summer season, there is usually a line waiting right out the door, and after eating here, I can totally see why! In fact, we loved it so much that we tried to go back the very next day, but unfortunately, they were closed (they are closed two days of the week, so be sure to check their hours!). I highly recommend stopping by Scratch Deli and Bakery. It is a must-visit spot, and we will definitely be back the next time we are in town!

All of their meats are cured in house and served on their fresh baked bread each day. They are vegetarian friendly and offer vegan and gluten free options. They also offer breakfast items like burritos. Be aware their sandwiches are loaded with ingredients and big. I could only eat half of my sandwich. I do appreciate the size though as you never know how hungry you are going to be after a long hike especially in this altitude. We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. It was the perfect stop before entering the park!
