I booked through Expedia. I was texted my room number and door lock key code the day of check-in. They do not keep the lobby open, but that presented no problems. The room was clean and recently remodeled. The bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning, but there is excellent flow through ventilation and a fan was provided so we slept comfortably. An extra blanket was also provided and was needed. I had an interaction with housekeeping and it was pleasant. The room had a view of the marina and ocean views were available from the door. We watched the sunset from the landing in front of the room. Parking was plentiful. The wildlife can be loud with the windows open, but earplugs were provided. Overall, it was a perfect experience. I would certainly stay here again There is an on-site restaurant called The Siren which had excellent service with decent food. read more

What an amazing three day weekend. Huge shout out to Saltwater Inn for being part of that. Nestled between the marina and the jetty you find this gem. Large picture window overlooking the marina. Step out the front door and you are looking over the jetty. Listen to the seagulls and the foghorn. Amazing sounds and views. We were room 203. King Marina view room. Code box instead of keys. No AC but there is a large oscillating fan. Ice is bagged inside the lobby. Nice comfortable bed. Electric fireplace. Microwave and mini fridge/no freezer. Fresh renovation. Quiet for most part. However there was a yippy small dog that woke us up one morning in another room. There is a restaurant onsite for lunch and dinner. Unsure how it is since it was uber busy and we ended up never dining there. Free parking and is walking distance to lots of shopping and food. Short walking distance to jetty, docks and tower. You can't go wrong booking a reservation with Saltwater Inn. read more

Outdated, overpriced, and looking to make any extra charges they can. Tube tv's with vcr's, mismatched linens, and only 2 pillows. No ac, was over 85 degrees in the room when I walked in. Also, no way to keep your windows open as they open ALL the way and we were on the first story. Our party was one of five rooms and everyone else said that they couldn't sleep all night due to the noise. I wondered why they supplied ear plugs! One of the other rooms also wouldn't shower there as it was all rusty and seemed dirty. Mine was actually the highlight of my room! I would expect much more as we all paid just over $100/night. They charged $40 as a pet fee and $50 for a late check out. Even charged me $10 for an overly-soiled hand towel!?! I stay in hotels for work frequently and this is one of the worst experiences I've had. Look elsewhere... read more

The stars are for location and allowing pets. We took the comforter off the bed it was so disgusting and old. I couldn't look at it or touch it. Rooms are not clean cobwebs, dead fly, and room smelled when we arrived so I had to open windows to vent the room. It has potential but needs new carpet, bedding... mattresses are still old thin metal coils. Decor doesn't match... not sure what they were going for. Not sure what's going on but I keep feeling the room shake...since we're not having an earthquake I can only imagine it's other customers. The walkways appeared structurally unsafe. I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this place but overall I had a good experience. Our room was clean. We had an ocean view. And best of all they allowed our black lab in the room for only $30! No it's not a super fancy hotel with a pool and sauna but I just wanted somewhere on the beach for a reasonable price. This place is in the heart of the tourist area of Westport and it's right on the beach. I felt we got the best of both! I was very happy with our stay. The only thing they could have improved was update the tv's in the rooms. But we weren't there to watch tv so it wasn't a major issue. read more

NOT as advertised at all! The rooms here are worth about $30/night, NOT the $109/ night +tax . We got a 2nd floor King suite with an ocean view, however the room was dirty, gross and outdated. It's February and the heat did not work!! We tried to call the 24 hour maintenance line a few times, but the line was busy. When we went to check out that morning, we told the front desk attendant about the heat not working and the 24 hour emergency line being busy all night, she didn't do anything. No discount, no apology. Also note from the review above: there are no extra blankets or pillows available. This hotel has sadly gone down the drain with the new management/owners. There are much better hotels in Westport. Next time we will be staying at the Westport Inn or the Breaker's Boutique Inn. read more

Paid $120 for a $30 room. Drunks in the parking lot, running around all nite. Management closes up and leaves with no one to answer calls. You can here everyone in every room around you. One neighbor was locked in his room unable to get out! He beat on his door tell 0230. Had to call 911. They gave me $10 off for the inconvenience of my half hour of sleep. Unless they lower the rate to $30 don't stay here! O & Greg, Kerri should be hating this place. And I like her for it! read more

For what I paid ($312 for 2 nights) I would definitely not come back here. I am by no means a motel snob. I roll pretty easily with lower end motels. I do expect them to be fairly clean and for it to be stocked properly. I don't expect an old school beach motel to be very luxurious but this motel needs some desperate TLC. There is decay everywhere and rooms are musty and not very clean. When we arrived there was no soap, 2 kleenex left with no back up, 1/2 a roll of toilet paper and a coffee pot that had a mug teabag of coffee for the pot maker, which makes no sense! Also, no phone to contact clerk, which I thought was odd but that was the least of my worries. I had to make multiple trips for supplies based on the lack of what was provided so I was kind of miffed that it was so carelessly stocked with basic supplies. Also, the room is very muggy. Even in 70 degree days, it felt very muggy in the room. We left the window open but it didn't seem to help much, not a whole lot of ventilation. If I paid $80 a night for this room, I might not be as expectant. But $150 a night (that includes taxes and fees) is pretty steep for what we got, just sayin'.... read more

If I could give it a 0 I would, booked online via the pictures from expedia, very deceiving. The only reason it is getting 1 star is the marina view. Pet hair on our sheets, bubble wrap for a shower mat, mold everywhere, grounds despicable (there was a full coors beer can outside our door for breakfast) mismatched patching tile in the concrete "shower", the toilet barely flushed, patio closed, restaurant closed, bar closed. My bad for paying $375 for two nights. Know wonder there is no refund! I usually don't do reviews but i felt this merited it. While reasonably priced, I will never stay there again. The room was extremely dirty and smelled like B.O! There was a thick layer of dust on everything and what appeared to be bird poop on one of the pictures. There was what appeared to be a bullet whole in the sitting area window, which made me feel uneasy. Forget getting a good night sleep on the bed! The mattress was so hard and the sheets didn't fit the bed and kept coming off. Couldn't sit on the sofa due to the horrible oder embedded in it. Plus it looks like they picked the sofa and love seat up on the side of the road. Faded, stained, some tear spots and extremely worn down. Find another place to stay when down at Westport! read more

We stayed in their RV park for the very first time this weekend and managed to snag Site #1 which gave us a wonderful view of the marina and a spot alongside our trailer to park our truck. They didn't charge extra for our second dog and were quite friendly upon check-in. Although they made it clear we had to be out before Noon today due to someone who had reserved the site. We went ahead and took advantage of getting the the restroom/laundry room key. The restroom/shower area was clean and it was nice to be able to toss a couple loads of laundry in after a couple days of camping at Grayland State Park. It was nice to not have to pay to take a shower although the shower area is quite cramped and even though there are shower curtains for the showers you still have to dress/undress in a tiny cramped area with a bench that's only about 3 feet long. My shoes under the bench and clothing on the bench got wet even though the shower curtain was closed. We would stay here again and in fact enjoyed the views of the marina, watching fisherman snag salmon in the boat basin, nearness of the lighthouse trail, watching the sunset and climbing on the jetty! Unlike Kerri we had a bad experience at the Half Moon Bay Bar & Grill which is documented in our review of it. read more

This place is a DUMP. Not as advertised! $119/night+tax was ridiculous. The boxspring was stained, the couch had holes in it, the bed was really uncomfortable, dirty carpert, two small pillows and no extra blankets, NO AIR CONDITIONING. Damp, dusty, musty smell. Paper-thin walls, I could hear every word of every conversation going on upstairs and the ceiling sounded like it was going to cave in. No screens on the windows so the flies could come in, and the fishy smell of the marina prevented you from doing that anyway. The attached bar & grill was very noisy and the noise permeated the rooms. (see my review on the restaurant--that was delicious, though). The front desk staff was not friendly at all. Good things: the location on the end of the boardwalk, the housecleaning staff was very nice, a free paper every day, and Tully's coffee in the room. But overall not worth the price! read more

This place was horrible! We took a party of 14 people into the restaurant for lunch. The place was only partially occupied but we were told since we had a party larger than 8 people that we could only order from a limited menu that only had 5 or 6 item none of which was suitable for children. We inquired about options and were told even if we split up the group we couldn't order from the full menu. The hostess and server were very rude when we asked questions. We took our large group and left. On the way out another family told us the food was awful anyways. read more

Really not good for the price. Beds were thin, and you could feel every spring. Windows were filthy, why not maximize the view? The people were very nice, and I think they are trying. No WiFi, although it's advertised. Bar and restaurant are not open. Bathrooms, carpet, beds all need a facelift. read more

Like the other poster said, "this place is a dump." Of course, other places in the vicinity did not look much better. If you are into fishing, you can't beat the location as the boats are right there. I also stayed in the top floor room at very end of building which gave me a spectacular view of the ocean, sunset, and boats coming/going. Unfortunately, only one room has this view so I figure I got lucky. Also, the hotel has a reasonably good restaurant and bar that help make up for the room deficiencies. Now, here are some specific complaints (1) bed sagged beyond belief; (2) cheesy towels; (3) shower facility was like camping out; (4) only one bar of soap? should have had at least two - one for sink and one for shower. read more

This place is way OVERPRICED! The room is easily only worth 60 to 70 $$ tops. Its quaint and quiet and we actually enjoyed our stay until they thought it wise to charge us an extra 50.00 saying that our "towels can't be resued". The only dirt on those towels was from the beach....this is a beach hotel. For 110 a night you get a cramped room with a view of an R.V. Park, charged for using the towels, no AC and one free bag of ice (thats right you have to pay for ice here). read more

We didn't stay at the motel but had dinner at the restaurant. Our family had a very nice experience; food was good, wait staff very nice and we thought a good selection on their menu. They are still getting up to speed so the service is a little slow but they've only been open a week or so and I would expect that to change. My family just spent four days in room #115 with a wonderful view of the marina. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was very outgoing and friendly. The Islander has a great location, it is close to everything. I really enjoyed talking with the new owner, he and his wife are real friendly.The Islander was built in the early 1960's. They are always busy doing what they can and he told me they are trying as time and money allow to update things. Once again we really enjoyed ourselves. Wanting to escape the humidity and 82 degree temperatures that had been plaguing the Seattle/Tacoma area for weeks, I accompanied my husband to Westport when he went fishing. Chose the Islander because it had the best reviews and was close to the marina so my husband could walk to the charter boat and leave the car with me so I could go to Ocean Shores. I wasn't expecting luxury, but I've NEVER stayed in a motel that didn't have air conditioning. Turns out, there is no air conditioning in Westport - not in the restaurants, not in the shops, not at the Islander. So much for escaping the heat and humidity. Consequently, I had to sleep with the window open, but was hesitant because my window overlooked the marina and the outdoor patio for the restaurant that's attached to the motel, and because there were NO SCREENS on the windows and I had already found a spider in the room. It was much too stuffy to NOT open the window, though, so I banished thoughts of invading spiders, mosquitoes, and seagulls and left it open all night. They do provide a small desk fan in the room, so between that and the open window, it was tolerable, barely. However, that also meant that I could hear the fishermen leaving at 5 a.m. every morning. Seriously, do they not realize that some people are sleeping?? They were yelling to one another and slamming doors so hard the entire motel shook (not exaggerating). Fortunately, because it was after Labor Day, almost no one was using the patio in the evenings, so there wasn't any noise from that. They do leave the patio lights on until about midnight, so the room was quite bright between that and the marina lights. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The room was also clean, except for the wayward spider and the windows, which had some sort of film on them (condensation? dirt?). While we were there, I read other reviews online and came across the information that you get a 10% discount if you're there for a charter. No one had mentioned that when we checked in, but we asked about it when we checked out and they confirmed that it was true. Then the clerk had a heck of a time trying to refund our credit card because they had already run the charge when we checked in. Well, maybe if they had TOLD US about the discount upon arrival, they wouldn't have to change the charge at checkout. Sheesh. If I ever go to Westport again (unlikely), I think I'll try the Westport Inn. Still easy access to the charter place but looks a lot nicer. read more

The Islander is an historical business in Westport. I am excited that Islander is open once again. Restaurant and lounge soon to open. This is an older hotel in an absolutely perfect location, sitting between the Westport Marina and Grays Harbor Bay. The rooms are slightly dated but are clean and comfortable with fantastic views. The staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile to insure guests needs are met. read more

Stayed mid April. Terrible customer service. There was a party above us making an unbearable amount of noise up to and after quiet hours. Tried calling the front desk(found out there is no one working at night), tried calling the night number provided but they refused to pick up after speaking to them the first time. Then had to call the cops twice, but again nothing was done. Finally fell asleep after 4am due to exhaustion. I stayed here. The restaurant had good food. The room was a little shabby. I have stayed in worse. Unfortunately I returned from a day of fishing & found that my sunglasses & case had vanished from my room. I am sure they were on the table when I left that morning. My friends & I tore the room apart but they were gone. I informed the lady at the front desk of this. Her answer was, "I hope you find them." They sent me an e mail asking how my stay was & I replied by asking them if they found my glasses. No reply. read more
