This place is super cute and was affordable on a recent trip to Westport. I booked it based on there being little availability in town when I wanted to go and very few other choices. With a quick glance at the map it looked like there were a few walkable places nearby. I didn't read much about it and mostly just choose it based on price as I just needed a place to sleep for a night, but was pleasantly surprised by what we found. The person working behind the counter was super nice and friendly. I appreciated the info he told us about the surrounding area and the recommendation to go for a sunset walk nearby. I also appreciate that this property has parking spots right in front of your room. The building is an older style, but very quaint. You get actual room keys which are a bit bulky, but sometimes do make me feel more safe than the electronic keys. Everything was clean and in good working order. I had no idea this place had a kitchen, but this allowed me to save some money by having a meal in the room. There is a grocery store located very close. I also really appreciated the bathroom amenities which included a toothbrush and toothpaste which is not something I recall seeing in a hotel anytime in recent years. There's a large grass area out front which children were playing in and people were walking their pets. There's a covered structure that looked ideal for spending time outside in the colder/wetter weather. There's a bar with good food to the left, a brewery with pizza up the road to the right and a Mexican place across the road. read more

Under new management. This place is much more affordable and much clear than the competition. The amenities are nice as well: tooth brush, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, DVD player, cable tv. In additon, there is: complimentary water bottles, snacks, and instant noodles! And for a motel lodging this place is super clean with little touches that make it homey, such as flowers. We booked this room because it was cheapest available at $175/night. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Pluses: friendly ground desk, kitchenette included decent fridge, microwave, stove top, sink along with plates,silverware , and pots and pans. It also had an area to clean and cook your fish. Tv with xfinity and king size beds. In addition, it is walking distance to shop N kart and multiple restaurants. And they had free snacks in lobby along with toothbrushes, tooth paste and other items you might have forgot in bathroom. Negatives: far from down town, dated, and cheaply updating. In addition, it got way to warm but didn't feel comfortable leaving windows open....I would not consider this a $175 room but have not compared it to other Westport amenities. Decent and if nothing else was available within this price range (aka $25-50) I would book again. read more

I am sorry there are only five stars available as become our favorite lodging when we visit Westport. I've been motorcycle touring for over fifty years and prefer the Mom and Pop motels as they are usually closer to city center and affordable. When traveling with my wife I have to be more discerning than when I am on the bike. There are national chains she won't patronize due to one experience that was less than satisfactory. I've been sitting here trying to say something negative about our stay here and finally thought of one. It's too quiet. No freeway traffic, no kids running up and down the hall, no doors slamming. How boring. If you can handle affordable lodging with immaculately clean rooms, a friendly caring staff and a quiet location you will not be disappointed. We keep coming back here and have never been disappointed. read more

The Asian manager/male owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful and hung up on me without even discussing my situation. I gave them 24 hours notice to cancel my reservation because my charter was canceled and the manager did not want to even talk about it. He just kept saying too bad I'm charging your card and hung up on me. What a scam this place is. I have never been charged for a canceled charter. Wow!!! read more

Mariners Cove Inn has very friendly management! They offer free snacks and beverages to customers in the lobby area. The rooms are pretty clean and have a lot of character; smells clean as well. Each room has a designated stall (motel); which I enjoyed very much. It's a short drive to the waterfront, but good luck finding something open to eat at during off-peek season. Overall, great location near grocery store, friendly service, and affordable prices. I would stay again! read more

Bring your flashlight to check sides and back of wood furniture for mold. Homeless couple next to my room kept me up all night yelling obsenities and had two barking dogs. Was offerred a different room my second night and it was moldy too. Spent my evenings cleaning each room. The beach was wonderful. read more

Best hotel in Westport!!! Sage is so sweet and so accommodating. We came on a slow week in February and he upgraded up to a suite for no extra charge just to be so nice! He let us have our pick of the rooms and gave us a tour!? We have stayed here before because we remembered the movie selection they have in the lobby, the snack table, with beverages and treats, and the fire pit we had complete access too! It's the best price and most comfortable/ cozy retreat. Sage is so nice I didn't want to say goodbye! Can't recommend this place highly enough! Room 8 was spotless (and I'm a bit of a clean freak/germaphobe to say the least so this was my number 1 priority), bed and bedding were wonderfully comfortable, furniture and artwork were attractive and modern (most places seem to be rather poorly/shabbily appointed), and as a bonus it had a mini fridge / freezer, cable TV, wifi--all of which made for a very enjoyable stay. Pine Tree Tavern two blocks away was a great spot to hang out in the evening. Shop n Kart across from PST is great for grabbing drinks and snacks for the room. AND there's a lovely coffee stand behind the tavern for coffee to get your day started. They clearly take a lot of care to make this a comfortable home away from home. Affordable price too! The fire pit in the gazebo outside was a relaxing way to wind down the evening. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat!!! read more

We enjoyed our time there. The staff was very nice. The room was clean. We loved the bedding. Nice and cozy.

One of the nicest hotels for your money in this area. VERY CLEAN. Bed was super comfy. First thing i noticed when i walked in the room was the smell. It smelled very strongly of cucumber melon which i didnt mind but if you are sentive to smells and fragrance i would take note. I didnt come with much i forgot alot of things but this hotel had very many amenities. Also i loved the fact that there were plenty of clean towels and pillows. The bedding was super warm and cozy unlike most hotels ive stayed in. My only real complant would be the desk guy was kinda pushy and nosey. He wanted me to book my room immediately which i wasnt ready to do over the phone yet i was price checking around And he was rude about the fact that i didnt check in at the time i said i would because i got stuck in traffic from seattle. When you look at the place it might not look like much, but don't let that fool you. The beds are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean, sure the room seemed a little cold to start out but it quickly warmed up when I turned the heat up just a bit. But the true gem of this facility is the owners. It's like staying with a grandparent or really good friend. Wanted to make sure we were taken care of every time we saw them. Offering snacks, water, popcorn, etc... for example, my wife went up to ask for ice, in conversation he found out that it was her birthday and ran and found her a bottle of wine. I was fortunate to get a room for one night and was absolutely thrilled since I had no reservation. The room is spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We rented a double queen room. The bathroom is also very nice and long with a double sink. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was very friendly and kind towards our two year old. Definitely a kid friendly place. If I could give this place a negative star I would. We pulled up, several motel room doors are open (like airing them out). The person in charge offered me a room that he had just got done shampooing! I told him I wasn't going to stay in a room with a wet carpet. He said it wasn't too wet. He then showed me another room which was also unacceptable (this place was rated a 3 star according to google). I also noted in the description that it was close to everything as in walking distance. The person in charge also told me this when I called. It's not! It't about 1.5 miles from the marina. My 85 year old mother couldn't walk that far. They've been doing some remodeling the carpet was new the beds were new very clean room it actually smelled clean when we walked in. BEWARE! I booked this room for a charter fishing trip that was cancelled last minute due to a storm. I called the hotel immediately to cancel my room and they refused to refund me. Granted I called at 7:00pm (as soon as the charter got in touch with me) and I was due to check in at 3:00pm the next day - technically within the 24 hour cancellation policy, but just barely. The person on the phone (owner? Same guy I spoke with when booking) was extremely rude and refused to listen at all. He kept referring to an email that I never received. I offered to pay a partial fee, but he refused to negotiate at all. I was calm and reasonable, but was forced to hang up the phone on him when he started yelling at me. I've never been treated so rudely at a hotel before and I travel extensively. Be certain if you book this hotel that will not need to cancel - they WILL NOT budge on their policy. We take the same charter every year and I had planned to reschedule the trip for later in the year and book the same hotel, but will not be doing that and I have told all of the rest of the folks on the charter my experience. read more

Great place to stay! The owner let me practice my few Korean words and kept checking on us to see if we had everything we needed. Helped hubby get on the wifi. Close to grocery store, beach, state parks, lighthouse and downtown Westport. Room was much more spacious than other motels we've been to and very clean. Also had a very nice bouquet of fresh peonies. Very generous with the snacks, bottled water and the teas were wonderful. When we go to the coast again we'll definitely be staying here. We've stayed at Mariners Cove for the last 3 years. Management the first two years was good but this year the new management was not kind. I called a few days before our trip to confirm my reservation for the weekend before we arrived and it was confirmed. When we arrived on Friday to stay the entire weekend we were told that we only had a night and no other rooms were available. That and the owner's daughter (who just "happened" to have the same very uncommon name as me) had that room and it was obviously booked much before this. We ended up finding a different hotel room for the weekend thankfully but we were not thrilled. The rooms are very big and some have kitchenettes available which is nice. There's no breakfast, internet, or any amenities other than renting VHS tapes. So if you're willing to take the chance on your room not being reserved by the new management, go ahead and take a chance. read more

There was nothing particularly special about the room or establishment. We got what we paid for- a cheap room. A $53 room (with AAA) is hard to beat and it served its purpose. Clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly and straight to the point. Within walking distance to coffee and a bar and not far at all from the ocean. My husband and I go to the beach every year for my birthday/our anniversary(27th & 28th). We always try different places because we haven't found one in particular we would like to return to. Well I was very excited to try this place out, especially after seeing they had new beds to try out. The owners were very accommodating, and nice. I enjoyed that they offered so much up front in the office. The king suite we stayed in was very clean and spacious and the bed was nice and cozy. I liked that they had a covered area that has a nice little sitting area and fire place. The first night was quiet and pleasant. The second night we were there, we were thinking about roasting some marshmallows, but unfortunately we had less than courteous neighbors that night. Constantly going in and out of their room(didn't know someone could smoke so much) to the sitting area smoking cigarettes, weed, and being loud. So we chose to just stay in our room. This lasted half of the night until pretty late. And unfortunately I had a hard time sleeping due to the fact that I could hear someone snoring very very loudly. I have a hard time sleeping as it is right now being 7 months pregnant. Once again, around 4am the "neighbors" continuous going in and out of smoking continued again(loudly talking, slamming the door, and hacking up a lung). So my husband and myself decided to give up on trying to sleep. I don't blame the owners for any of this, just stating our personal experience. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, other than our "neighbors" obvious lack of respect for others. The owners were accommodating and friendly. read more
