I was scared of wearing contacts after trying them out once, years ago. That was the first and last time I had tried to put contacts in my eyes and decided that I will never try them again. That all changed when my girlfriend asked me to give contacts a second chance. So I did. Everyone here was friendly. The doctor was awesome. Then came the moment of truth. Went for my overdue eye exam with Dr. Halabi and she is always so professional, energetic and very informative. I found Glendale Family Optometry through my VSP providers list and boy am I glad I did! Dr. Halabi is so lovely and a fabulous doctor. She really cares about you and your health and really takes the time to make sure you get what you need...in my case it was new contacts. She took the time to find the best fit and comfort for me and it took a few visits with some different contact trials but she wanted to make sure I was happy with the selection which I really appreciated. Truly a 5 star!!! I was refereed by a friend to Dr. Halabi, however she was not in the office and I met with DR. Cathy Mui. First off I missed my scheduled appointment at 4:30 due to a flat tire. When I called their office to inform them, they were nice enough to tell me that if I make it by 5:30 they will still see me. They close at 6 and I walked in a few minutes before 6. I could not believe how nice and welcoming the entire staff was. No attitude or anything that they would all have to stay for me a little late. Dr. Mui was AMAZING!! Loved her attitude. It was my first time meeting her however she was so nice and professional and made me feel so comfortable as if I have been her patient for years. I just got back from another appointment, and had to update my review because the second time around was fantastic as well. This morning, I could not focus on the bottom portion of my left eye, and light was irritating. I feared a retinal detachment, so I called right away. I was able to be seen in 1 hour. Dr. Mui explained that I had had an ocular migraine with auras. She said it usually lasts about 20 minutes, and believed it was hormonal. It set my mind at ease. She also explained it in an easy-to-understand fashion, and I did not feel overwhelmed with medical jargon. I continue to be impressed, and recommend this place to everyone. read more

I went in for my eye exam appointment and Dr. Javadian and she was amazing. She was very detailed during the examination and answered all of my question clearly. I had never gotten a proper eye examination and was a bit nervous to, however I am in front of the computer all day long for work and thought it was time to adult and finally go! My eyes are constantly red and itchy, but my vision seemed OK. I just wanted to be sure they were in good condition and get an idea of what my vision range is like. Dr. Javadian was so professional and kind. She saw me right on time and warmly welcomed me into the office. I didn't feel nervous at all because she made me feel incredibly comfortable. The facilities were very clean and organized and the staff were all so nice. She provided excellent service and informed me of everything she was doing along the way to educate me about the process. After my exam, she told me I had 20/20 vision (woo!!) and that my eye irritation and itchy-ness is likely from allergies. She recommended specific drops that could treat my symptoms. She also advised to do certain eye exercises at work to give my eyes short breaks from constant screen-time. I will also be purchasing blue-light blocking glasses. I left there feeling great after my first eye exam experience and would highly recommend her to everyone! read more

Best eye doctor ever!!!!! I have been going to Dr. Halabi for years now. I originally saw her due to my normal eye doctor being out sick and she was kind enough to take me on. After my first visit with her I switched eye doctors immediately and made her my primary eye doctor and since, have refuse to go elsewhere. I have even followed her to three different offices now! Trying to find a good optometry for me has been the biggest challenge until today. I was referred to the Glendale Family Optometry and had an appointment on 1/29/2015. Walking in I was greeted by two receptionists named Kristineh and Tenny. They were so sweet and explained to me that Dr.Halabi was on maternity leave so I was given an appointment with Dr.Yesayan. That's when Dr.Yesayan came out, shook my hand, and began my appointment. She explained every single thing she was checking on my eyes and even talked about certain functions of the eye in order for me to get an idea of what she was doing. Usually when I'm at an eye app. I have no clue what's going on but Dr.Yesayan explained everything she did. She was so kind and I learned so much all in just 10 minutes. After getting my eyes checked that's when the two receptionists, Kristineh and Tenny, along with the optician Christine came in to help me find the perfect glasses. They were so incredibly patient and Christine was so helpful. I was given so much attention by each individual working to ensure I picked out the perfect pair of glasses, and I did. Being a person who has glasses on 24/7 I take pride in my eyes so having a group of people who really care and put their 100 percent in what they do is the biggest breathe of fresh air. The environment of the office gave me a home like feeling very comfortable. I have referred five people there and every single one of them praise me for sending them to such an amazing place!
