I recently attempted to schedule an appointment with Glendale Eye Medical I contacted the office November 12, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m., but the experience I had was extremely unsatisfactory. I called the office six times before finally reaching a live person. When I requested not to be put on hold, I was placed on hold regardless. After the individual returned to the line, I asked why, and her reply was, "What do you want, I am busy." I pointed out her rudeness, and she promptly hung up on me. My subsequent calls went unanswered. When I called later in the day, someone picked up the phone, but it seemed to be an accidental pickup, as I could hear an unrelated conversation between the receptionist and a patient, which I found odd. I have been a patient at this office for over 30 years and have never experienced any issues until now. However, I have concluded that the current frontline employees are incapable of providing professional service or even basic politeness, so I will be seeking care from a new eye provider. I attempted to call the office to speak with the office manager to request that my medical records be sent to another medical professional. I was informed the office manager was unavailable and that someone named Helen would contact me regarding my records; however, I have still received no communication from the office. read more

The service and attention to patient services is an Epic failure.....I went in 2 months ago to personally order all my records to be transferred and I was told 2 weeks......now pushing 2 months. I also asked for a copy of my last prescription for 1.5 readers to make a couple pair of sunglasses and was denied as they wanted to get me in to do ANOTHER eye exam. Having just had cataract surgery on both eyes it's clear it's nothing more than another money grab. ITS JUST READERS ...It's just integrating a minimum reader into sunglasses. We had a very disappointing experience at the Glendale location. When scheduling the appointment, the staff incorrectly claimed my father's Medicare number had changed, which was not true. Despite this, we proceeded with the visit and agreed to the $139 fee. My 95-year-old father, who was eager to see Dr. Panosian, had his appointment confirmed for 3:40 PM on 3/17/25. However, upon arriving on time, we were told that the appointment was actually at 3:20 PM and that he could no longer be seen. This was frustrating, as there was no flexibility or compassion shown, especially considering my father had taken an Uber from West LA to Glendale. The staff did not offer any alternatives, such as waiting to be seen at the end of the schedule. This lack of professionalism and understanding was extremely disappointing. I hope the office considers improving their patient service, particularly for elderly individuals. Based on this experience, I would NOT recommend this location. Goodbye Glendale Eye Medical Group. I have been coming here for decades, starting with ophthalmologists Dr. Leiske and ending with Dr. Chang. During most of these years I received excellent service and care. Unfortunately, I recently had a bad experience. I went for my annual eye exam to get my eyedrops prescribed. Dr. Panossian, another excellent OD prescribed me my usual eyedrops. Since, I still had some leftover eyedrops and noticed no expiration date on the prescription order, I went into the pharmacy to fill my prescriptions three months later. Well, the pharmacy would not fill my order indicating it was too late and I needed my doctor to reauthorize it. I contacted the office and was told (never was allowed to talk to Dr. Panossian) that he was not going to do it and I had to schedule another visit with another doctor. I really did not understand why he would not honor what he wrote that I had in hand. This left me scrambling to find another ophthalmologist via my medical insurance to authorize my eyedrops (which they did over the phone without a problem). I am highly disappointed and suspect the office staff and not Dr. Panossian for this negative situation. Regardless, this made me realize they are now more interested in their financial gain by having me pay for another consultation than my well-being. read more

So I came here for my daughter since she was in need of an Opthemology doctor. As I walked in I was greeted by really nice staff. The women at the front were nice. Then almost immediately we were called to be taken to the room. The young assistance was so sweet. She was patient and very nice. When the doctor came in she was the very opposite. She was moody, and seemed a bit rude. She quickly looked at my daughter. Looked in her eyes and that was it. She asked a couple of questions and was done. So I asked if she was going to check if my daughters prescription was ok. She said that I had to see an optometrist. I felt I wasted my time here. She basically did nothing!!! Scheduled an appt in May. Loved one is bed bound and took a lot to get transportation lined up. The day of the appt we get a call canceling the appt due to the Dr. Not feeling well. No offering for another Dr to see my loved one or anything. What a disappointment for patients who go through hell to schedule a ride with an ambulance wait a month for the appt and then just a simple cancel with no other accommodations to see another Dr or covering Dr. This is clear sign that this place is not run by professionals but amateurs. I contacted this company 5 months ago and have been dealing w Janeth Megia.I will just start with saying that's she is the absolute worst employee I've have ever come across, she goes out of her way to make things more difficult over the last 5 months she has giving me nothing but the runaround in abating my mother's glasses.In the last 5 months, my mother has taken wrong medications multiple times which can be deadly because of the fact that's she could not get her glasses.After my last call w Janeth, where she couldn't provide any information or an update she hung up on me, had to call again and demand to speak to the manager -Jacqueline that has been that has been in a "meeting "or "out of the office " for the last 5 months according to Janeth. When I finally got to speak to Jackquline she had stated she was never made aware of my requests to speak to her nor the fact did she know that I've been trying to get my moms glasses for the last 5 months.After speaking with Jacqueline, my mother's glasses were ready a few days later. Bottom line, Janeth went out of her way to NOT help. She had the worst attitude doing the whole process, also this company also has no clue what new name they are under.I will take my business someplace else after 20 + years. Don't waste your time, very rude. They asked for insurance beforehand and was told that if they didn't accept it, I would have to pay for the visit, which I was willing to do. I went to show them the insurance before the visit and very rudely was told how they don't accept the insurance and also told that they don't accept any Medical which I know they do, I asked when did they stop accepting Medical and was told that they never accepted Medical, I said I know you accepted it so the girl tells me Yes, we do but not for your type of visit. Wow! I'm so impressed by Dr. Wang at Glendale eye. She is so detail oriented and actually cares. She considers medical history and really pays close attention to everything. She also explains things really well. I was born with an eye disorder many Optometrists have to google while I'm in their office, but Dr. Wang knew all about it and addressed all of my ongoing concerns with it. I would highly recommend this Optometrist. A couple tips for the office they could improve upon... The office is downtown Glendale and there is no street parking or obvious parking lot. It's the kind that they validate parking but it's confusing and hard to figure out which one to go into. I would recommend they tell every new customer where to park when they book their appointment verbally and via email/text. Lastly, to use the bathroom you have to take a big wooden stick with a key attached to it. It feels a bit like a truck stop and I think I would recommend they contact their property manager to remove the lock and key on restrooms or maybe use a code like most places now that need that kind of thing. However, overall it was astounding because Dr. Wang is just the best! read more

Their employees are helpful and friendly. Their new location is very modern and up to date. However, the four star review is because I always used to get my glasses fitted from Bill Valentine. As the Glendale Eye Medical group offers it all from vision checks to glasses, they are missing one of the greatest master opticians in the industry! Disappointed that he wasn't there I went on a quest and found him! He has a great selection of glasses and his own office! While I still get my vision checked from the amazing doctors they have, I make my way to Valentine Optical for my glasses needs!! He has a wide variety of frames and lenses to choose from! Dr. Richard Weise did a surgery on my husband's eye one month before , he wanted to see him after a month. We went on our appointment day and after checking his eyes he said that my husband needs a minor procedure to be done. Then a male employee came in the room and wanted to schedule the appointment for that procedure. There were some questions in my mind , so I wanted to ask him, he didn't even give me chance to talk , in a very rude way he cut me and blamed me that I am wrong!!! I was speechless... then Dr. Weise and his nurse Maria entered and they explained very clear. I was so embarrassed and humiliated by THE employee ( and that was not the first time.) The place is very clean. The reason for 3 star rating is their unpunctuality. I accompany my mom to this place for almost 7-8 years and I do not remember a single time, they honor appointment time. Expect to be called 25-30 min late. plus you are going to wait for the same amount of time in the waiting room that is inside. I have to mention the great job their front desk receptionists do. I took my mother to see Dr. Weise to place plugs to block the tear drainage in her eyes, I was offended by his arrogance and he gave me the impression that he is all about $$$$, no compassion for patients. After he did the surgery my mother condition improved in the left eye but kept on complaining about her right eye, she saw another ophthalmologist who told her that there was no plug in the right eye. I took her back to see Dr. Weise who in total arrogance said that there are plugs in both eyes, my mother had to see another ophthalmologist to place a plug in the right eye as there was none. In our experience DR. Weise lied as there was no plug in the right eye, either he did not put it or it fell off, lying about patient care is horrible. Also Dr. Weise need to understand he is not God, that he swore to take care of patients and to be honest. read more

I had a very bad experience here. The assistant put the first drops in my eyes and told me it would sting. The stinging was extreme. I asked if they had taken the anesthetic out of the drop and she said that usually the anesthetic drops come first. I asked if there was any reason I didn't get the an aesthetic. She said they take 15 minutes. Since I was on time for my appointment I don't understand the problem. Everything they did after that was done without anesthetic and very uncomfortable until the very end, when I got drops for the glaucoma check. I won't go back. read more

While Glendale Eye may not be the cheapest (nor the most expensive), the level of care and attention given their patients is unmatched. There's no pick-a -number and get-in-line attitude. I've been wearing glasses for over six decades. I must say my experience with Janeth was fantastic! The best ever! She helped me select frames that were perfect for my face. She additionally kept me up to date on the delivery process. Janeth also made sure both pairs were visually accurate and made sure the fit was perfect. I've never had such discourteous and borderline mean-spirited experience with a medical staff. I arrived 10 minutes late for a 9:30am appointment due to parking in the wrong garage (there is no signage to direct you to the right garage). I made it clear that I had to leave by 10:30 for a critical job interview. I've been on disability which has run out, so I HAD to get this job. I was penalized over 20 minutes for being late. Expecting it to be longer (there was no communication from the woman at the front desk), I asked if I could quickly move my car as the garage I parked in charged, while the garage for Glendale Eye - again unmarked - will validate. Being on a fixed budget, I had to move it. During the 5 minutes I was gone they let in every patient in the waiting room and penalized me another 15 minutes. God forbid they wait 5 minutes for me knowing I would be right back and had a hard stop time. In the actual waiting room there are blaring TVs and blaring music - at the same time. I think this is how they torture inmates at Guantanomo Bay! So I had to sit on the floor outside the office. And wait. I reminded them I had to get to a job interview. It meant nothing. I finally get in to an office and dealt with yet another rude person who showed zero empathy regarding my need to leave at a certain time for an interview. So I left. No help with my eyes and late to a critical job interview. Thanks Glendale Eye! read more

What an excellent facility. One day before vacation my eye is swollen shut, I called for an appointment. The young lady says nothing is available. Now I'm in big trouble. 5 minutes later she called me back, having gotten my number from caller ID. Her name is Espi, my new angel! The staff was wonderful, Dr Kouyoumjian was so sweet, and fixed me right up. I was a first time patient, but now I will recommend this office to everyone I know. With Claudina mediating, they opened the office up just for me to take care of my issue. Dr. Aghanian was incredibly kind, gracious and knowledgeable. She and Claudina really went above and beyond to help me in my time of need. Dr. David Fuerst of Glendale Eye Medical has provided me exceptional care. He is extremely knowledgeable about opthamological medicine, and has a wonderfully caring approach when treating patients. Dr. Fuerst is a great example of a doctor who always puts the health of his patients first. He is tenacious when it comes to providing world class eye care. He stays after an issue until it is resolved and is especially good at keeping his patients informed during every step of the treatment. In 2008 he treated me for cataracts and the experience was among the best of any medical treatment that I've received. He restored my vision to 20/20 in each eye. An amazing outcome. $210 for an eye exam for a 10 year old. You are told one price on the phone, a different price when you get there, and are billed for additional services after the fact. Awful and misleading billing practices. Never again Just so you know before you go in, since this is not made clear in any way $40 is for the doctor to write a prescription (which we didnt even get because the doctor basically told us at his age he wouldn't wear them and that his vision doesn't seem to be bothering him" This amount is not a part of the eye exam which is pretty underhanded considering if you go anywhere else these charges are included in the exam price. read more

Came to get a prescription and try to get contacts. They didn't have the trial contacts for my astigmatism so I was told that they would call me. They never called and the lady who dealt with me seemed like I was a big bother. The person trying to help me with getting the new lenses for my current frames was annoyed that I wouldn't leave my only set of prescription glasses with her to get new lens, after I kept explaining I didn't have another set and I need my glasses to see at work. read more

I've been a patient of Carolyn Wang for 2 years now and she's the best! Every other optometrist I've been to in LA was in such a hurry that I felt like I was at a drive through! But every single person at Glendale Eye Med Group is super nice, and friendly. I've never had to wait very long. Dr. Wang obviously cares about the health of my eyes, she always does a thorough check and takes time to talk me through the details of my prescription, including exactly what to do -- for example, if I change my mind and want to get 2 week contacts instead of dailies. I can no longer recommend this medical group. The whole enterprise has steeply declined in the three years since I had my first cataract surgery there. My first experience with Glendale Eye in 2019 was exemplary. At that time, all staff went above and beyond in both technical and administrative care. Sadly, this is no longer the case. There is now always over an hour's wait to see my doctor, who has been triple booked for the same appointment time more than once when I've seen him this year. The "surgical coordinator" who also seems to double as administrative supervisor, is almost totally unresponsive unless she is nudged and reminded to do her job. She does not answer calls or emails in a timely fashion at all. Always has to be reminded at least once before she does what she says she will. I have already been waiting two weeks to have my surgery paperwork completed and schedule finalized. At my last surgery It took ONE VISIT to the previous coordinator to have all the details of my surgery completed and scheduled! As of today I have cancelled my second surgery here and will tell everyone I know to steer clear. DR. PAUL IS STILL THE BEST THOUGH! Try to book him through somewhere else. read more

Excellent facility, excellent staff, excellent doctors! I'm impressed with how complete their services are, how professional yet friendly and helpful the staff is, how many perks they provide, and how compassionate and experienced the doctors are. I recently had cataract surgery performed by the team here and cannot be happier with the results. I'm particularly terrified of anything near my eyes and told them prior to it. In the pre-op visits, the staff from the front desk to the ophthalmology techs were all very friendly and professional. Dr Kouyoumjian and Dr Drexl oversaw my case and I never felt more confident that things would go well. They reassured me that they would take care of my fears, yet I was still anxious and hardly slept the night before. On the day of surgery, a car was sent to pick me up and I was greeted by a very friendly and professional team at the surgery center and an anesthesiologist who "gave me the good Tequila". I barely remember any of the procedure and what I do remember was uneventful. Before I knew it, everything was done and all my anxiety was for naught. The post-surgical follow ups have been equally pleasant with follow up calls by the office to check on my progress. They also offered to send a car to pick me up for my follow ups. Prior to the surgery, my right eye was so blurry that I was practically blind. My vision hasn't been this good in 20 years and I only need glasses for reading now. My family has been going to the Glendale Eye Medical Group for several years now. All of the staff know us by name. I like how they apply a personal touch to each of us and remember our needs. I had a huge problem for many years with headaches caused by glasses and they were able to figure out that it was due to astigmatism and now that I have proper prescriptions for each eye I no longer have headaches or dizziness. I have gone to Dr. Panosian and feel very comfortable with him. You can tell that he enjoys what he does and sees each patient as more than just profit because he actually takes time to listen to you instead of rushing. First time at Dr Perez optometrists office. Very welcoming staff,helpful and friendly service. I never had prescription glasses before so this was a big deal for me. As soon as I walked into their office I felt very comfortable, and the office is very clean and organized .They have a big selection of brand name frames and sunglasses. We came because my daughter needed her new glasses and new prescription, we went to Kaiser before and their prices were so high. We were referred to Dr Perez and decided to give them a try. I am so glad we did, Dr Perez is very friendly and professional, he gets involved with all his patients and he really cares for them. Very genuine person. Judy helped us order our glasses and she was also very courteous and helpful. I definitely recommend that when it comes to your eyes that you choose a Dr that cares one on one, Dr Perez does love his profession. read more

I have only had great experiences with this office. The entire operation is very professional. From check in, to a very short wait in the large clean waiting room, to gentle nurses, prompt and knowledgeable doctors, to parking validation, its about as good an experience as you can have visiting the doctor. I see Dr. Wang. She is wonderful. She has excellent bedside manner and is very prompt, knowledgeable, professional, patient, and takes the time to answer questions thoroughly. In the past I have often felt pressured to make quick decisions about which slide is the clearest when determining prescription strengths. Dr Wang takes the time to go at your speed and make sure it's right and you are comfortable. My wife also goes to this office. She sees another Dr. and thinks highly of him. read more

I went to Dr. Weise to get an upper eyelid surgery in February of 2020. The consultation went well, although after the surgery, Dr. Weise became very rude and unreasonable. I was not satisfied with the results of my surgery as my left eyelid still had excess skin. I expressed my concern to him and showed him how the procedure was not done correctly and he said that he would take care of it. A year later and after months of calls to the doctors office, he said he would fix my eyelid at my expense. It is ridiculous that I would have to pay for him to fix his own mistake. Then, I complained to him that it is not right for me to pay for him to fix his own mistake, and he did not respond and proceeded to walk out of the room. I have reached out to the staff multiple times, although it was of no help. The only response the staff, manager, and supervisor said was " I'm so sorry to hear this." I am extremely disappointed about the results of my surgery and Dr. Weise's behavior. He is very unprofessional when it came to dealing with this situation. I do not recommend anyone to go to him! If I was able to give him 0 stars I would. I have had multiple surgery's and have never experienced such an unprofessional doctor. read more
