I have a complicated history of astigmatism and have mostly peripheral vision due to Amblyopia on my right eye. So I'm left eye dominant which makes me a higher risk but Dr Melikian did an incredible job of being very thorough during my consultation, did lots of testing and made me feel very comfortable that I would be ok despite other doctors advising me not to do it. So I scheduled my procedure within two weeks and had both Doctors Youssefzadeh and Melikian day of surgery. They were so incredibly professional, fun and kind. I love their personalities!!!! My surgeon who did my intraocular lens replacement was amazing and my post-op surgeon was also amazing. They have great team here. I think they don't do a ton of these procedures yet, as the OR staff at the Encino surgery center kept saying removing my "cataract", which I have none, which is mildly disconcerting when someone is about to perform surgery on the one and only pair of eyeballs you have. They had a little bit of trouble booking both eyes at once (since this is cash only and not thru insurance, they can do both eyes at once), but it got resolved and overall my experience has been 5-star b/c both surgeons I saw are spectacular. Everyone here takes care of you really well. They explain everything really thoroughly. The procedure itself took only like 10-15 mins and they ensure that you are comfortable and well informed every step of the way. I had barely any pain the night of my surgery and by the next morning I had no pain at all and I could see almost 100%. I know that LASIK is not cheap so it's considered a luxury for most, but I think this place has very fair prices so I think it is more than worth the investment. I'm extremely happy with my results. They also have two differently priced packages: one is the one year guarantee and the other is a life time guarantee. So definitely ask about other options as that can affect the price. The only issue I had was with the front desk staff, I called numerous times to schedule and each time they assured me that they take my new insurance. The day before I made the appointment, I got a text that they do not take my new VSP insurance type. Even after being told many times that they checked and I'm good to go!
