Honestly, I have no words to describe how easy it was to book my consultation, get quoted and get the surgery all done in under a month! Currently 2 weeks post lasik and my vision is SO MUCH BETTER. I had Danielle as my lasik rep and she made everything understandable and answered our questions w/great explanations. Theres even options to pay via payment plans if you're worried about the cost. Originally I wanted to come in for my consult due to my farsightedness and high astigmatism but my dad also ended up joining me last minute LOL and the team at SM location tried their best to accommodate him despite their busy schedule - MEGA THANKS! With some back and forth testing to see whether we qualified for the procedure, we did have to visit the City of Industry location a couple of times since they had a specific machine for dilation that the SM location did not have. In the end I ended up having my surgery there and it was a breeze! I also saw both Dr. Grace and Dr. Nguyen as my optometrists - both amazing and honest drs. Literally told me as it is, and reassured me that post surgery, it would take awhile for me to readjust due to my past prescription. SURGERY DAY; went in, got retested to be sure, got to meet my surgeon & the assistants- Dr. Lin- super nice man), just a bit of loud machinery noise and burning smell but both eyes were zapped and done within 20 minutes. I researched ICLs quite extensively before choosing to do this surgery because I wanted to make sure I was informed, especially after reading of some cases that didn't go well. I visited 2 other clinics in LA, one that was quite famous, and one that was a bit more modest. From the first one, I was wary of the extremely profit/business-driven mentality of both the surgeon and all his staff (that's just how they came across in my opinion), and while the latter was nice, they seemed a bit less top-notch in skill (they seemed experienced enough with Lasik, but less so with ICLs). I got so tired of overthinking the whole thing that I took a break from searching and considered sticking with contacts/glasses. Then, one day my mindset shifted to be less overwhelmed by the idea, and I searched online and happened to stumble upon IQ as being a place that was reviewed to be good to their patients and good with communicating, etc. And from my first visit onwards, I can confirm this is true. I was struck with how they had the best of the two other clinics I mentioned: the first one's expertise and the heart of the second. The whole team at IQ is very professional, yet also very humane, and they were never pushy with me. They finally helped me feel ready to go for it, and not by manipulating me, but simply by being open and ready to answer any questions I had in a very neutral and fair way. I also have to give a shoutout to Danielle, the consultant/counselor (she's like a liason to help explain the overall procedure+cost to you before you speak with the surgeon) - she's genuinely great. I'm now 5 months into living with ICLs - the actual surgery site healed early on - and I can actually say it was worth it. It's admittedly a pretty expensive procedure in general, but I have to say, if you can do it - it's so comfortable and convenient, and I am so grateful that the team was so meticulously careful with their measurements and that it all went well. Our eyes are such a crucial part of the body that I really feared the worst case scenario with mismanagement, but IQ did great. I waited to review bc I wanted to make sure my results were stable. I will update if anything changes, but so far, very good. On seeing haloes - for me specifically, I have truly a lot less of this effect than I anticipated; it really depends on the angle and is pretty negligible for me and my lifestyle needs. Most of the time, I don't have any ! (Maybe it could vary depending on different eyes, though - don't know.) Before, I was overall very cautious about whether ICLs were a good/worthwhile thing to do, but now being on the other side, I'm converted ! Poor customer service. Scheduled a virtual consultation with a set date and time. At the appointed time, I did not receive any call from the business. I eventually decided to call them, but no one ever picked up. Sent an email asking if I should be expecting a call or if I should be calling in, but did not recieve a response. Sent a follow up email stating I was ignored and asked if they just didn't want to do business with me, and that email was ignored too. The San Marino location of IQ laser center is only for the consultations and post op exams. The Rowland heights location is where the procedure is done and along with the consultation & post op exams. I was able to schedule my post op exam at this location which was closer to my work. I have done my SMILE procedure two days ago and went to my post op exam the next day. My eyes were a little sensitive to the light but I did not developed any glares or halos. I was able to drive to work the next day. But, at night my eyes are a bit hazy to the lights. On the day of my post op, Dr. Robert Lin was my doctor, he was really friendly and thoroughly check my eyes to see how they were recovering. I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid and I have gotten used to it. I never thought about getting Lasik until I had kids of my own. At this point glasses became an obstacle when it comes to playing or trying to make milk blind during the middle of the night. As someone with very sensitive, dry eyes and anxiety regarding the procedure, I had a very quick, painless, and satisfying experience. I had my smile surgery a week ago. The package comes with pre-op check up, artificial tears and antibiotic drops, the procedure itself, and multiple post-ops. The staff are all very helpful, and they get you in and out very fast. I had my ICL surgery done last week and could not be happier! My prescription was slightly above -12 and I maxed out in the prescription for daily soft lenses. I did my first consult over four years ago but between two pregnancies, nursing, and a pandemic, I never got a chance to move forward until now. The procedure itself is relatively painless. The second eye stung a bit when they put in the drops but that was the extent of "pain" you experience. Nothing a long term contact user can't handle. After the procedure your eyes just feel tired. I took several naps before knocking out for the night. Almost immediately after surgery, I could see better than I could with my contacts. They put shells over your eyes for the first 24 hours but I had my eye pressure checked around 3 hours post surgery and I got a glimpse of 20/20 life! The most challenging things about the process have been unrelated to the surgery itself. You have to stay off your contacts for 3 days before the pre-op appointment and again before the surgery. After the surgery, no bending/lifting above 15lbs for two weeks (challenging with two young kids so make sure you have a support system set up). I had some hesitation about the procedure because I was told by another well known surgeon that I was not a good candidate. I want to say the SMILE procedure has been life changing! I have been using eye contacts and glasses for well over 10 years. I relied on them every single day. Not being able to see is a huge problem. Everywhere I went I had to make sure I carried my eye contacts and an extra pair of glasses in case something happened to either of them. I came across IQLaserVision on Instagram. We first set a virtual appointment with Veronica Covarrubias who explained what the procedure will look like and why I wanted LASIK. But then I learned there is a procedure called SMILE. Essentially, this is when the surgeon uses a laser light to cut a tiny incision in the cornea and removes a piece of tissue. Reshaping the cornea to correct your vision. (This is the best I can explain). They work out a plan for you. You can make monthly payments or pay all in full. First step is leaving a $100 deposit. At the time of your first visit they will run a few tests of your eyes. Which will determine if you qualify for LASIK, SMILE or both. I went with SMILE because it's a small procedure and the recovery process is basically the next day! On the day of the procedure- I was nervous but also excited. Soon after my procedure, after leaving the surgeon's room (Dr. Erica Liu-made me feel so comfortable during the procedure- she talked me through everything to the 'T') I don't think I could have done it without her guidance oh and the numbing drops!. I was able to see more than I had been able to in years. Soon after getting home I had to take a sleeping pill which I didn't want to take because I was excited that I could see. But I had to take the sleeping pill because I didn't want to feel any weird sensations or pains after the numbness went away. There will be some dryness in the eyes for a few months but during that time I need to be using Artificial Tears and just for a week after the procedure I used drops that are antibiotic eye drops. Fast forward to today...I am so happy. Well worth the procedure. I highly recommend IQLaserVision. The staff is so friendly and Dr. Erica T. Liu did a beautiful job. Oh and I now have 20/15 vision!!! For my birthday, I gifted myself Lasik. It's been about 6 weeks now, so I feel a bit more comfortable sharing my thoughts. The free consultation took about 2 hours to complete. I didn't need to bring in any of my history because they did a complete workup. They even noticed that I had a mild lazy eye, even though I forgot to mention it and it's so mild that my usual optometrists tend to disregard it. Side note for those who are nervous: there's absolutely no pressure to follow through after the free consultation. Truth be told, I actually contacted them two YEARS ago, left my info, and chickened out. It was only last month that I took the initiative again to set up a consultation. They offer 3 different procedures based on what best fits you. Because of my unique situation, I could only go with the ALL- laser, and even then, they made sure I understood that one of my eyes would never, ever reach 20/20. It was brought up in every meeting (face to face and over the phone), and I had to sign a waiver right before the actual procedure. I appreciate that they never gave me false promises. Your total cost includes your pre/post op care package, the procedure, 1 year's worth of checkups, and a lifetime guarantee (fine print included, of course). As for the operation day itself, everything went fairly smoothly. The time spent with the actual laser is very brief. The laser auto tracks your eye so you can look around without fear (even though you should definitely keep as still as possible). There was no pain. I repeat, no pain. There was mild discomfort, and I did struggle a little though. Dr Liu was comforting and paused the procedure to let me regain my composure. For those who I just scared: I was never in danger or pain; I just really wanted to blink. I went home, popped a sleeping pill, and woke up the next day able to see. The checkup revealed that I am officially 20/20 with both eyes open. I am not 20/20 when tested individually, but like I said, they warned me continuously beforehand. In the weeks and checkups since, they say my vision is still stabilizing, but I'm doing fine. They only 'negative' side effect so far is that I'm really sensitive to light now. It's hard for me to go out without sunglasses during the day. They tell me that should slowly get better over time though. As for the little things I usually throw into my reviews: parking is a breeze, and staff is defintely welcoming. The lobby offers a few complimentary indulgences, but each location offers different things. The City of Industry office, for example, offers a massage chair. And I'm still trying to figure out if I shed real or artificial tears when the doctor asked me where I used to live, prompting me to think of my dear friend Hansen. Man do I miss Hansen. I used to live with Hansen and I came to love his long wrists and the way his hair grew after he cut it. He would cut his hair in a way that still allowed it to grow back and it was beautiful to watch his head hide itself again and again underneath his dark, dark hair. Hansen would cook ramen noodles for himself and always leave the remaining soup for me to drink on a cold night. I've been wanting to get LASIK for about 3 years now and was hesitant due to the surgery itself as well as the cost. After losing my hard lenses twice and facing difficulties with not seeing 24/7 without contacts or glasses to care for my special-needs daughter, I started to seriously look into LASIK. I went to the San Marino office last weekend for a consultation. The office was very clean and staff & doctor were welcoming, thorough, answered all my questions and were all smiles! After doing multiple eye exams/tests it was determined I was a candidate for Lasik which I was happy to hear. After the consultation, they explained because of my vision, in order to make my far sided better that my near sided would be slightly compromised. They advised I try temporary contacts for a couple of days so I could see how the lasik would look through my own eyes. I took their advice. I realized with the contacts it was harder for me to read and look at my computer at work. Before the appointment I was all ready to get lasik but after the explanations and trying the contacts, I realized it wasn't worth it for me personally. When I let them know, they were so nice and didn't try an push any sale. They said I needed to do what I felt comfortable with and were still all smiles. I love that they were honest, upfront and I always felt like they had my best interest in mind. If my sight gets worse in the future, I would 100% go back to them. They are wonderful to work with! I currently work here. And I had Smile procedure done 1 week ago. Everything is way soooo good, Sharp vision and I don't experience much glares or halos. But there's only one disadvantage: why have I waited for so many years to make up my mind!!! My eyes are sensitive and susceptible to seasonal change and dry weather. Wearing contacts always makes my eyes super dry. I also suffered from surface defect, which might lead to severe problems if not treated timely, due to contact use. I was hesitant to have the surgery because I was afraid that the surgery would escalate my dry eye condition. However, without wearing contacts or even glasses, the symptoms actually improve. Now I can see 20/15 (which is better than 20/20). If there's an earthquake hitting at night, I don't have to look for my glasses before running. Lol Thank you everybody! I had the smile eye surgery last week in this office. The procedure is fast and safe. The surgeon would explain the details starting the procedure. Everything went well. I can start driving and working the next day of the procedure. No pain during and after the procedure which is the favorite part I like. Back when I was in college, I'd pretty much decided I was never going to get this surgery. I accepted that I'll just wear glasses for the rest of my life. However, my wife kind of pressured me into getting an evaluation to see if I was eligible. I was eligible so I decided to go ahead and get the SMILE procedure. I was super skeptical and very VERY anxious about getting the procedure done. But honestly, all of the doctors there were super nice and made the whole process as comfortable as possible. Every day my vision seems to be improving. I almost want to cry because of how good my vision is, but I'm nervous to cry because I don't want to strain my eyes haha Follow up service has also been superb. Even after you give them your money, they will still treat you like family. I respect that a lot. Anyways, I recommend people get the SMILE procedure if possible. It's a bit more expensive, but the recovery is fast and the procedure is painless. Very much worth the extra money. I hope these guys are able to stay in business because they treat people right and that's hard to find these days. One last thing. I read another review saying how the doctors wouldn't get back to them in the same day after the surgery. This ALMOST happened to me, but the doctor finally called me back 2 minutes before closing haha. They could be a bit better at responding to calls (because, i mean, this is a very scary procedure an during recovery patients are obviously very anxious), but other than that they treated me like a king! Honestly the best decision I could've made. The staff was amazing to work and made the decision easy to go through with. Jacinta was the rep I spoke with mostly and she was so sweet and patient with me. She had my questions answered and I felt knowledgeable about my options. I decided to go through with the Smile procedure as it had a faster recovery time than lasik and that was super important to me with my kids. The day of my procedure I met my actual surgeon, Dr. Patrick Pham and he was amazing. He walked me through all the steps, before and reminded me during surgery, so I was comfortable and knew what to expect. The procedure was about 10 minutes and I was up and ready to walk out but the laser was in my eye about 20 seconds. The next day I woke up and was 90% better and by 24 hours i was at 100%, still some fog but that all went away by day 2. Overall I'm so happy I went with them. I no longer have to rely on contacts or glasses and wake up perfect able to see. Thank you everyone at IQ laser! read more

Writing this review day after my micro-LASIK surgery. Actual procedure was at the Rowland Heights location. Props to ALL of the staff. Everyone is very nice and attentive. Top notch service. Expect a lot of testing to make sure you're a good candidate. As for the actual procedure, no pain at all, but quite a bit of pressure. And yes, there's like 5 seconds of darkness in each eye during the surgery, but other than that, all you have to do is focus on the red light. And maybe enjoy the slow Chinese music in the background. Dr. Lin and the tech will assure you and walk you through the whole surgery process, so nothing to worry about. You'll be in really good hands. Excited to say I have 20/20 a day after my procedure! Still a bit blurry and I'm seeing some halos from lights in the dark, but all normal and should go away as I recover. I'm really happy with the whole experience and would recommend this place to anyone. read more
