When I called asking about the facilities and what to expect, the person I spoke with asked me about my dog, her personality and experience with boarding. He quickly realized given my dog's temperament/experience that GPR is likely not something she would enjoy and referred me elsewhere. This review is much overdue. We adore Epi, his wife, and staff! They are always accommodating for overnight boarding, even when late notice. Plus they don't charge extra for special feeding requests. I appreciate that they don't price gauge, but have very reasonable fees. In their care, my dog gets lots of TLC and plenty socialization with fellow dogs and humans. It's obvious they're animal lovers, not just your regular run of the mill business. I think their perky, positive staff translates to happy dogs! I am very happy with this place. Epi and his staff are very nice and loving to our dogs. When I go out of town and call them, Epi will give me a thorough account of how our babies are doing. He is very accommodating and we are comfortable leaving our babies there, as we travel frequently and recently had to leave them there for 9 days. I was considering this place for a week during Christmas and was inquiring about info, prices etc. I got the rudest emails from their representative Epi. All I was asking was for information and all their responses were super short and very uninformative. I was instantly turned off. They need to work on their customer service. i love this place! My Siberian Husky, Denali, means a lot to me and i recently started working in the downtown area. I wanted to find a place that was clean, respectful towards the dogs and owners, and where my dog can have the time of her life. I was recommended to Glendale Pet Resort by a friend, whose dog also boards there, and i was sold. I really like how the big and small dogs were separated and how the back yard was set up. My dog loves to run so have a big room at room temperature where she can play and run made me feel comfortable. I don't think she likes to go to dog parks anymore. They make the dogs feel like they are at their own home. I couldn't be happier read more

I come into town a couple times a month and my dog loves it here for daycare! She is always tired from playing with other dogs and the employees are always friendly. I've been bringing my dog here for years and he loves it. He's excited whenever I take him and exhausted when he gets home. That's a good sign to me. And he never comes home with cuts or scrapes, like I've experienced at other places. The crew really understand dogs and how to handle them. Epi, the owner is also a professional K9 dog trainer. I leave my dog with EPI and his staff regularly and have never had a problem. My dog does seem a little dirty and tired when she gets home but I think that's because she's playing with other dogs, something she doesn't get to do at home. From all appearances, they do a good job but only the dog really knows! I wasn't that satisfied with the glooming services, but that's not a big deal to me. read more

My 2-year old pit bull mix, Tina has been coming to Glendale Pet Resort since December 2014. Epi and his awesome staff are very caring to our dog. I can tell they all really love working with dogs. The facility is huge, with beds for overnight stay and agility training playground. The dogs are separated based on size and energy and they are kept out of cages, which is awesome, except during feeding time. My super active dog gets so excited whenever I pull up to Glendale Pet Resort and she gets home tired from an all day or overnight socializing with other dogs. We took our doggy in to be boarded for the weekend. They were attentive to her needs and made sure to keep her in a smaller group of pups that were more her speed, which I really appreciate, she's shy! All the staff I interacted with were kind & knew our dogs name by sight after just having her in for half day daycare. We will totally go back for boarding in the future. read more

Have taken my 12lb Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix here three times recently. Once for day care, once for a weekend, and once while I was gone for two weeks. Each time I picked my little guy up he has been happy, and was clearly well taken care of. My interactions with Epi, the owner, have been great - he is thorough and informative. He has experience training dogs around the world and not only loves what he does, but is very good at it and loves the dogs who are in his pack. He is very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient in answering questions! His main focus is on dog training which is a plus as I knew my pup would be in good hands and in a safe pack with Epi and his staff and the other dogs there. Price is also very reasonable! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glendale Pet Resort. read more

I have been using this dog resort for about 3 years and have never had a negative experience. The staff is friendly and kind, and the facilities are well-thought out with the dog's well-being in mind. My beagle is great with people but doesn't like small dogs AT ALL. The staff knows this and they keep her with the staff most of the time--and when she comes home she is always happy. Most importantly I notice that when I drop her off there she shows no reluctance. That tells me a lot. The dogs get regular exercise as well as "down time" and are separated into groups based on size and temperment. I am an enthusiastic supporter of Glendale Pet Resort. read more

I took my puppy there starting in mid October of 2013 we thought everything was going great, our dog came out happy and was always excited about going back. Right off the bat our dog contracted a skin infection (our vet said more then likely from unclean conditions and laying in urine while playing). We decided that we would take him back there at the off chance that we contracted the skin condition somewhere else. Upon returning with in two weeks our dog picked up dog warts, although this is common in puppies it is usually picked up when infected dogs play together (our vet also validated this story). This place is very unclean it smells of urine and mildew. I strongly recommend spending a little more money to make sure your dog is clean as well as happy. read more

I have sent my dog to Glendale Pet Resort three times now in the past year, and I thoroughly recommend them to any dog owners. Our little guy comes back happy and relaxed every time (which has not always been the case at other kennels). Whilst the exterior of the building may not be much to look at, the set-up inside works extremely well (dog's don't care about interior design or the style of signage). It is mostly a huge open space, like a warehouse, with a sizable outside area at the back with 'easy-turf' fake grass. There are also smaller rooms at the front of the building where older dogs, or more fragile dogs are looked after. In the large indoor space there are stalls where the dogs are fed individually, and comfortable spaces for them to sleep. Of course it isn't clean like a doctor's surgery, because dogs shed hair, make a mess with food and do other business all over the place, but they do a terrific job at keeping it clean and organized, and frankly it is as good as I have ever seen. All the dogs I have seen there when I take mine are having fun and playing well together. The older more tetchy dogs are happy and relaxed in the front rooms where they are isolated from the more high energy dogs (like mine). Epi, who runs the GPR, is a very friendly, helpful and skilled dog handler. He trains service dogs for all manner of jobs, including the Police service. His own dog, a beautiful German Sheppard, has immaculate behavior and is a real testament to his skills at dog training and handling. I am always very satisfied with the level of 24 hour care, protection and service that GPR provides to all its temporary residents, and so is my dog. The prices are reasonable too. I thoroughly recommend Glendale Pet Resort, and will always take my dog there when I need to. read more

Took my 2 Jack Russell Mix 15 pound dogs for 2 days of day care. We were passing through the area on vacation. Checked with owner the week before. He asked pertinent questions about my dogs such as being social & up to date on vaccinations & flea medication. Dogs had a great time & were exhausted each evening at the hotel. this place is amazing. i've been using Epi and his staff for years dating back to when his resort was in Blythe. he loves dogs and it shows. every time i drop my dog off she runs in the door and never looks back. almost as though she doesn't want her friends knowing that dad dropped her off. when i pick her up, it could be a week or just two days, my dog is so tired from all the playtime she gets. i'm never worried about her once Epi and his staff take over and that's a great feeling.
