I originally intended to leave a positive review, especially after being offered a discount incentive to do so before even seeing my dogs. However, after picking them up and fully evaluating their condition, I feel obligated to leave an honest account of my experience. My dogs were boarded here for 21 days, and I paid $3,340.29 with the expectation that they would be properly cared for. When I saw them at pickup, I was immediately alarmed by how thin they appeared. At first I questioned whether I was overreacting, so I weighed them once we got home. Based on their recorded weights, they lost approximately 18% of their body weight during their stay. The more I look at them and evaluate their condition, the more upset and disturbed this makes me. In addition to the severe weight loss, both dogs also had fresh cuts and scars that appeared consistent with having been in fights or altercations while boarded. This was never communicated to me during their stay, and seeing visible injuries on top of their physical condition was extremely upsetting. I documented their condition with video and reviewed everything more carefully afterward. Two days before pickup, I received an email stating they "seemed a bit hungry after eating their food." I had provided very specific feeding instructions, including a digital scale to measure 200 grams of food per feeding, twice daily. When I checked the scale afterward, I noticed the units had been changed from grams, and I also became concerned they may have been weighing the food incorrectly by including the bowl weight. What upsets me most is that their veterinary records clearly documented their healthy weight immediately before boarding. The condition they were returned in was not acceptable and should never have happened under professional supervision. I do not believe this was intentional cruelty, but I do believe there was serious negligence and incompetence in their care. The email sent shortly before pickup now feels more like an attempt to establish concern in advance rather than address the issue appropriately. I trusted this facility with my dogs' health and wellbeing, and I will never trust them with their care again. read more

I came here because the reviews were great. Everyone raved about the treatment of the doggos and how clean the place is. I inquired about the grooming and for what I paid was really reasonable for my 68 pound doodle. He's really gentle and doesn't move when getting baths and cuts but seems like the guy that groomed him really messed up. I wanted the teddy bear cut but nope idk what I got. Plus it looks like he went a little too close with the clippers cuz there's bald spots. This will more than likely be the last time I come here. Update 2/10/26 Got a call from I suppose their corporate and they said that they reviewed their cameras and that pretty much I was in the wrong. I wasn't clear enough about what I wanted. In fairness I did agree to the length of hair but I did say I wanted a teddy bear haircut and that being said if the groomer was a professional he would've corrected my length of choice and said that it would've have worked. They did offer a generous bath and nail clipping. After a botched grooming why would I want to bring him back? So you guys could mess this simple task again?They did recommend me to their north Hollywood office where they "specialize" in doodle haircuts. If that was the case then why not point me there instead of dropping him off there for a service they couldn't provide? Again I paid 110$ dollars for something I'm sure I could've done at home. We had a great experience here with grooming for our little puppy Jaxon! The groomer Alejandra was so sweet, detailed, and gentle with our fur baby. In addition, the place is so clean and spotless and the front desk staff are attentive and answered all our questions. We are looking forward to our next grooming session here for Jaxon in May! Lastly, we toured their facility and fell in love with their dog hotel suites and custom-tailored offerings for each unique dog, so we booked a suite for Jaxon while we go out of the country this summer. We love that their suites are equipped with cameras so we can monitor and view Jaxon any time we want while we are away! I would just like to begin by saying that the team at Dog Resort Glendale were at least extremely accommodating with all of the scheduling changes that I had to make with my dog, Mooney, for her boarding. I'm grateful for their help in that department, but the level of care they had with my dog unfortunately discourages me from ever bringing her back here. There were a few warning signs that I chose to move on from for the sake of not being an annoying dog mom, but I regret it and feel bad for ever putting my dog in this situation. I've never written a review before and this will be a long one, but I feel like everyone has the right to know that their babies are being taken care properly. To sum it up short for those who don't want to read the entirety of my rant, my main issue was that I picked up my dog extremely dirty with her front arms, back legs, and sides covered in what seemed to be, and I am praying, was only dried urine. I've had both my dogs stay at their old location in Hollywood before and never had any issues. This time, I only had Mooney board and didn't realize the appalling condition she was in until we made it home. To start with the drop off, Mooney was due to provide updated vaccine records, which the male worker did not ask for when I checked in (Sorry, I wished I remembered his name, but he wore glasses). I then realized when I got in my car that I didn't give it to them, so I came back to provide it so they wouldn't have any issues during her stay and couldn't reach me. When I went to show the document, he said it's fine, you can just provide me the days. This worried me a bit because it made me question how often do they not ensure every dog is actually cleared before taking them in? I don't know if it's different because I'm a returning customer, but it was our first stay at the Glendale location. He also didn't do a little run through of Mooney's provided meals and medicine, which wasn't too big of a deal because I packaged everything to be pretty clear, so I let it go. I'm also just accustomed to the Hollywood team who checked records every time and went through each of my dogs' meal plans and medicines for their knowledge. Another small thing, which I understand could have just been the case of the 2-3 customers he was dealing with after me, but the worker had left Mooney's bag of stuff in the lobby when he took her inside. When I came back to give the vaccine records, I saw it still sitting there, which I then told him that there was wet food in the bag that needed to be refrigerated. Now for the pickup, when they had brought her out, I said hi to her and she was wet like she had just been given a bath. The same male worker had explained that she had just peed, which is why they took a bit longer coming out. I had apologized and dismissed it as she does tend to go pee right after baths. I got her in the car and my partner, my cousin, and I all smelled a stench and the closest thing to compare it to was turf at a dog park. I had told them that she had just peed and she's been around a bunch of dogs for 4 days straight so that might explain the strong smell. We just rolled the windows down and headed out. When we got home, I went to wipe her paws like we usually do and that's when I noticed how dirty she was. I started wiping the back of her arms where her 'elbows' are and they were really brown. Her coat is majority white, so it's super visible when she's been laying on the floor or somewhere dirty. Then my cousin pointed out the backs of her hind legs were dirty as well. When I wiped the area, the wipes were brown and yellow. It was then that we all really examined Mooney and saw that her whole hip also had a large dried yellow patch that was kind of faded. I ditched the wipes and immediately threw her into the bath to clean her off. I wish I had taken photos but was so disgusted that she was left like this that I acted first before I could have documented her state. Her condition made me question if she was let out to use the restroom because she looks like she had to sit in her urine with no place to go. Also, did the workers realize how dirty she was and tried to rinse her off before handing her to me to hide their lack of care? With these questions in mind, it really worries me of what else could have happened that I would never know of because all the upgraded rooms w/ security cameras were booked during her stay. I know I'm only one in a hundred, but I pray no one else's pets that stay here have any issues like I had or worse. read more

I'm writing this post to warn others about my unfortunate first experience at Dog Resort. I brought my 4-year-old healthy French bulldog, Dexter, in for overnight boarding from Friday to Saturday. Everything seemed fine the first day and night, but when we woke up the next morning (Saturday), we received a call from Dog Resort saying that Dexter had been found unresponsive and that we needed to get there ASAP. Because we were out of town, we booked a flight home immediately. Before we could even get on the flight, we received a call from the vet informing us that Dexter had passed away and that he was brought in deceased, so there was nothing they could do. Once we arrived back in Southern California, we went straight to Dog Resort and demanded to see the video footage. What we saw is what prompted this review. Dexter was taken into the playroom that morning with the other dogs, where he could be seen happily playing and running around. However, after about 30 minutes, it became clear that he was winded and hyperventilating from the activity, which is common for French bulldogs. A worker then removed Dexter from the playroom and placed him alone in a private, glass-enclosed room. While there, he continued to hyperventilate and vomited white foam five times within a span of three to four minutes. Several employees walked past Dexter during this time but ignored his condition. He eventually collapsed onto his side and appeared to suffocate on his own vomit. What frustrates me the most is that Dexter laid there deceased for a full 10 minutes before anyone checked on him, during business hours (around 7 a.m.). When I asked the manager why no one attended to him sooner, she stated that the other workers were cleaning and that they can't watch the dogs at all times. For the price paid, you would expect someone to be actively monitoring the cameras during business hours, but apparently that is not the case. I then asked for a copy of the video footage so I could review it myself to determine whether there was negligence involved. The manager said she would bring the request to corporate and follow up with me immediately. After several days passed without any response, I emailed again requesting the footage. Their response was as follows: "YES, SO UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE THE FOOTAGE. THE CAMERAS RESET EVERY 2 DAYS AND WE NO LONGER HAVE THE VIDEO. HIS STAY WITH US WAS FROM FRIDAY TO SATURDAY MORNING. OUR CORPORATE OFFICES ARE CLOSED ON THE WEEKEND, AND BY THE TIME CORPORATE RECEIVED THE MESSAGE, IT WAS TOO LATE." I also followed up via email requesting the incident report and the waiver I signed when dropping Dexter off, but I have yet to receive a response. Very unprofessional! I am sharing this story about my best friend, Dexter, whom I miss so deeply, and about the horrible experience we had here--hoping it may protect others from experiencing the same heartbreak. read more

I dropped my dog off here while I was away for two days for a wedding. I've never used a dog hotel before, and my dog has never stayed anywhere other than my home or my mom's home. So I was both anxious and curious to see how he would do. I found dog resort on Yelp and based on reviews thought this would be perfect. The good is for $10 more than the lowest rate, a jr suite vs a standard room, I'd get to watch him on a webcam. And from the looks of it, it seemed comfortable. The bad is I never got any communication from anyone at dog resort during any point of the stay. Even when I emailed to ask how my dog was doing. I noticed my dog spent a lot of time in his jr. suite and not in the play area so I assumed something was up, but nobody reached out to inform me about anything. This led to me being pretty anxious the whole trip, constantly checking the web cam. And most of the time my dog was near the clear glass door watching the other dogs and barking a lot. Again, it would've eased my nerves to get any updates but I received none. It was nice to know he was safe, but based on how much money I was spending on this, I assumed there would be more communication/ updates. When I dropped him off the person at the front desk did say I could email and they'd give updates or pictures but again, when I reached out I did not hear back. So just keep that in mind if you are new to boarding your dog. Other than that the place was clean and they had a lot of different options for rooms. I don't think I'd use them again though due to lack of communication. read more

I am amending my original 1 star review, and making this 4 stars, ONLY because of the action taken by upper management to address the grievances I outlined below. My intention in leaving my review below, was to: 1) get the attention of the ownership/upper management in regards to this location's manager: Cesar, and to 2) inform potential future customers about the management of this facility.. but I do not want to impact the overall success of this business.. I sincerely hope that Cesar's behavior will improve. With that said- here is my initial review: ------ I do not like leaving 1 star reviews, but after almost 2 weeks of mulling it over, my husband and I felt like it was best to be honest, for the sake of other dog owners to know about the management of this place. I will start with the pros first: We really wanted this to be our new place to take our two doggies. We had previously been taking them to the Hollywood location, which was always amazing and we felt so safe leaving our two male labradoodles there (Ozzie and Redford). I wrote a 5 star review for that location that you can read... this new Glendale location is absolutely stunning, large, very clean, and only 5 minutes away from where we live... so we were actually very excited about it! Now the CONS: At our first drop off a few weeks ago- we made a 2-night reservation for two SEPARATE rooms for our dogs... because under normal, at-home circumstances... they are so sweet to each other, and to other dogs. But when they get to a kennel situation, it's better for them to be separated because of their ages and activity levels. Redford is a senior 11 year old dog, and does better in a large group with the older, smaller dogs... Ozzie is younger and more energetic and does better with the big dogs... they also get competitive with each other in kennel or multi-dog situations. We made this extremely clear to the woman taking our reservation (Anna) over the phone, AND made sure to let Cesar and the other gal working that day... THEY NEED TO STAY SEPARATED. I confirmed that we had booked two rooms, and had them print out an itemized receipt when we checked them in and paid.. you can see on the receipt that we booked 2 rooms and paid for them. We then proceeded to tour the facility because they were offering tours, reminded the other girl working that they HAD to stay separated, said bye to our doggies (who at that time were in two separate rooms), and carried on with heading out of town.. then on Monday 1/13, we got a call from Cesar (the manager) at the Dog Resort, letting us know that our dogs had gotten into a fight with one another and Redford had gotten bit near his eye. We of course were shocked because we had assumed they were keeping them separate.. but he informed us that they put them in the same kennel, and that they knew nothing about keeping them separated. We know our dogs and that they can get competitive with one another when there are other dogs around, so this is a situation we try and avoid. Cesar was so extremely rude, refused to take responsibility for his negligence, kept trying to tell my husband and I that we *didn't* book two rooms, we didn't pay for two rooms, and we *NEVER* told them that our dogs had to stay separated for the duration of the stay... we checked in AND paid with Cesar. Over and over he was trying to gaslight us.. and refused to give us any information on how to contact someone higher up from him- his manager maybe? It was the strangest feeling because we just wanted him to admit that he wasn't paying attention to what we had requested and failed to make notes in the system and inform his staff. Cesar should not be the manager of this location... he does not have the diplomatic skills to navigate a situation involving his own negligence, and is extremely RUDE. On the positive side- Annie did call me a few hours later and she was very kind and compassionate about the situation. She took responsibility for not making it more obvious in the notes when she took our reservation over the phone about our dogs being separated, and offered us a full credit for a future visit, or a refund check. We thanked her and chose the refund check. We would love to be able to bring our animals back here, AND would be happy to amend our star rating... but not as long as Cesar is the manager. If upper management is reading this- I hope you take these 1-star reviews seriously.. the last thing I want to do is impact an overall star rating of a small business, but there are animals involved and Cesar is not qualified for this position of caring for their well-being or safety. read more

We boarded our 4 yo dog, Biscuit, here while we went on a 10 day vacation out of the country and couldn't have been happier with our experience! It C was our first time and our dog tends to have anxiety when we leave. The last time we left her with another boarding facility, she came home with severe Pancreatitis. They took great care of her, called us to give us an update during our trip, sent us photos and were very communicative. We were able to check on her while we were away and could see her sleeping comfortably on her bed in her little suite. You can bring their favorite blanket and toys so they don't feel so home sick which is nice. It's a clean facility and the staff are all super nice. You can tell they take good care of the pups. A nice inside play yard for the animals and temperature controlled (which is nice considering heat during the day). We love in Santa Clarita and it's well worth the drive to know your dog is well cared for when you're away. Thank you!! read more
