Had the joy of getting my very first Gout flair up on my right ankle. I couldn't put any weight on it and so I wasn't able to drive there. Took a Uber there There were 2 other parties ahead of me. Filled out all the forms and made my payment. I waited about 40 minutes until I was called in and placed into an Exam room. Waited about another 23 minutes in the exam room for the physician to see me. She was very nice and confirmed that I was having a Gout flair up - swelling and heat. Prescribed some meds for me (sent directly to my pharmacy). Gave me some diet recommendations and told me to set up an appointment with me PCP. Overall, not a horrible experience, I was expecting to wait a lot longer. The care I received was great and I the medication did allow me to start walking again and the swelling went down. read more

When I was on Medi-Cal I had to go to an urgent care for some dull abdominal pain. I was able to book the appointment the same day through an online search app. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Waiting room was clean and there were a couple other patients aside from me. Took about 15-20 minute wait after I completed the paperwork. The PA that saw me was very professional, explained my symptoms and after some cursory tests, nothing much was wrong with me...MANY SUCH CASES in my poor weird health, but at the very least I'm glad there was nothing wrong with me and I reset back to normal like a day or so afterwards. read more

After traveling all over town to find an open, not-so-crowded urgent care facility, I came to MedCove. Both of my kiddos were feeling unwell and needed to be seen right away. That said, the front desk staff was kind and helpful. It is a small office, so seating was limited. I felt like anywhere I stood; I was in the way. Thankfully, there were kind patrons who were sociable and engaging which made the time pass quickly. My kids were seen together. As far as customer service is concerned, I felt like we were a bit rushed. The male nurse (?) was rather brusque with my son -- he didn't notice, but I did. The female nurse (?) must have been ready for her day to be over.... she did not answer either of my kids' questions about their treatment plan, or engage them in their curiosities about what she was doing to them (taking throat cultures). Her replies were an afterthought and impatient seeming. I'm bummed I didn't get her name. IF I come back, it is because they are open late and have fast-ish processing time; it would NOT be for the customer service and bedside manner. read more

The office experience was terrible. Been waiting for over 2 hours. My husband cut his finger & potentially needed stitches. I called MedCove & they told me to bring him in, it was only max an hour wait. The reception individual were talking amongst themselves while we waited to sign in. They were not very attentive. The staff was great; however, the practitioner was extremely unprofessional. Dr. Dolly Pham was, unfortunately, the worst experience I've had. I've had many frustrating doctor's appointments and have cried at plenty of medical offices, but I have never had to raise my voice at a doctor before--until this visit--due to the way my mother was treated. Dr. Pham entered the room with a cold and dismissive demeanor. She began poking my mother's back to the point where I had to physically hold her to prevent her from falling, and then she raised her voice at her. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly attempted to push us off to the ER rather than address the issue. After we've waited for over 2 hours and paid $30! I finally snapped because of the terrible treatment and told her that if she could not remain calm and treat my mother appropriately, I would need a different doctor. I'm extremely upset with how my five-year-old daughter was treated during our visit. After patiently waiting for two hours, the practitioner named America walked in, didn't greet her, didn't ask how she was doing, and immediately told her to sit down in a rude and cold tone. There was absolutely no effort made to make her feel safe or comfortable, which is unacceptable--especially for a child. If your staff can't show basic respect to young children after such a long wait, then maybe you shouldn't be treating kids at all. It's clear there's a lack of proper training--or compassion. We will not be coming back, and I hope you seriously reconsider who you allow to work with pediatric patients. read more

I have to say when i called the girl was super sweet and answered my questions. When i arrived it was the same she was super friendly, smiled and courteous loved her! I forgot her name :( i think it was marina not sure. So far so good, as i was called in like 15 min or so if that. The male medical assistant or nurse i don't know what he was as he wasn't wearing a badge, was completely unfriendly. I said hello he pointed down the hallway. I'm a nurse myself and just got off an 11 hour shift and was surprised and disappointed in this treatment. I can only imagine if i was a helpless patient walking in at his mercy. This guy was not at all courteous or friendly just seemed over his job. He needs to be met with and reminded what profession is in. Medcove has online appointment booking! It also does x-rays. I only had to wait 20 min to be seen (past appt time). When called back to the exam rooms, my blood pressure was taken. They immediately took x-rays, then in about another 20 min a kind and knowledgeable PA told me the results and examined me further. Everything was very clean. The man/technician who did the blood pressure and x-rays had lousy bed-side manner and yawned a lot, but the PA was great. I recommend it because of the cleanliness and thoroughness. read more

I highly recommend this URGENT CARE. Dr. Grace is extremely knowledgeable diagnosing your systems making a list and ruling out other possible problems. Took my kid in over the weekend since we couldn't get in with our regular doctor. The front desk was friendly and helped us get checked in without much hassle, even though it seemed a little busy. We saw Dr. America and she was great -- really patient, explained things clearly, and made sure we understood what was going on. What I appreciated most was how she interacted with my kid -- kind, calm, and made them feel at ease. Grateful for the care we got that day. After the dust has settled I won't forget this place. It was the height of COVID. People were scared and desperate. Myself included. We had to wait to get COVID testing and even after getting the test results came slow. This place offered swab testing. Same testing you can buy today for $7 to $10 today. The only thing was this place charged you $120 to test. They profited off the fear and freighten. When you don't know what's happening and your medical centers take advantage of those they vow to care for it's absolutely abhorrent. In a time if crisis you truly know who a person is and this place showed its face behind the mask. I will never ever go here again. Everytime I drive by this place it sickens me for what they done. Mixed experience here. The visit itself was alright - short wait, friendly staff and all. But then they completely messed up with my lab samples. Two of them were supposed to be frozen for testing, but they overlooked this crucial step and Labcorp had to cancel those tests. What really irked me was how they handled it. Every time I called about the results, they'd say they were busy and would call back but then never did. It was only after five days of calling them that one of the providers talked to me. But all she said was everything looked fine. Conveniently left out the part about the two canceled tests. I only found out when I got a paper copy of the results that not all of the tests were completed. They should've owned up to it and been straight with me. The experience left me feeling disappointed and concerned about the level of accountability and communication there. read more

Made an appointment for a telemed appointment through the app Solv at 5am. appointment was for 9, i logged in about 8:45. by 9:22 i haven't heard from anyone so id decided to call the office. Then they proceed to tell me that Solv is a third party app and they don't accept appointments from there. I had an appointment scheduled for 12 PM, arrived 30 minutes early, and still had to wait three hours to be seen. When I asked the front desk for an update, I was told, "You'll be seen, be patient," which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. It's clear they double or even triple book appointments without any consideration for their patients' time, expecting us to be understanding simply because they're "doctors." To make matters worse, when the doctor finally comes in, they spend barely five minutes with you. I used to like this place, but I don't know what's going on anymore. This "urgent care" is unethical and should be investigated by the medical board. I was involved in a bike crash today and, even though I was wearing a helmet, had some blurry vision. The 24-hour nurse my health insurance provides recommended that I go to an urgent care immediately. When I called MedCove, I gave them my full insurance information, asked if they were open, and checked on the waiting time. The receptionist told me that my insurance would cover the visit and encouraged me to come in. When I arrived twenty minutes later, the waiting room was empty. I checked in with one of the three receptionists who told me that they had met their "quota" for the day (whatever that means), that the doctor wasn't seeing any more patients, and that I could come back in morning. I arrived a little after 6pm and MedCove closes at 10pm, so I would think that that would give ample time to see the doctor. As you can see from the photo, the "open" sign is on and the waiting room is empty. The staff turned away a patient with a possible head injury. Unbelievable. From the looks of it, this place is a glorified Covid testing center pretending to be a medical facility that treats patients. MedCove is in a sad little strip mall and the waiting room offers no privacy and looks more like a cheap takeout fast food restaurant. read more

If you are looking for an urgent care to go to, then I definitely recommend MedCove. This office is a little far from where I live, but my insurance provider had recommended this office because they just so happen to accept my insurance plan which is LA Care. Upon seeing some of the reviews, I was a bit skeptical about sending my mother here to get some x-rays taken especially because she is not that fluent in English so there is a language barrier, but when she came home she had told me that the doctor here is very friendly and had helped her look into the issue she was experiencing. Just so happens, I had to pay a visit myself the next day since we both had caught a cold a week ago and I was desperately in need of some prescriptions asap since my healthcare provider was unable to see me that day. I arrived as soon as they had opened and had to fill out a lot of paperwork outside which was a bit tedious to do but not bad. The employees at the front were okay, not the most welcoming but not rude either. After waiting outside in my car for a couple of minutes, I was called in by an assistant who had taken my blood pressure and checked my heart rate before being lead to another room to see the doctor. Forgot her name but she was actually very friendly. I can definitely see why my mom had said the doctor here is great. He was very welcoming and after checking my heart rate and symptoms he had provided me a prescription for some antibiotics and other medication right away. Definitely will come back if I need urgent care services. read more

This place is low budget, unprofessional and not someplace I intend to busy again. The first time I came they no told me that they a limit on how many illnesses they would treat - 1. Totally ridiculous. The second time I came they informed my daughter that her insurance did not cover her procedure, so I agreed to pay the $50.00 they asked for, but before they would do the procedure we had to pay. This place charged my husband his deductible when he has already made his deductible payment with his primary doctor. They told him they wouldn't see him if he didn't pay it. When I called to tell them they need to make a reimbursement they put me on hold for a long time. On top of that I had to call back and yes I was old the reimbursement had been process the issues is those people talked down on me not letting me speak because "I was doing go head why I wanted she said" doctors are great, front desk and billing people are horrible. I had recently been around someone who tested positive for COVID and needed a rapid test stat! I came to MedCove on a Friday morning and arrived a little before 8:30 (opens at 9am) and was the 30th or so person in line. They were very transparent about the $150 fee not covered by insurance and the line moved at a pretty good rate. Testing was efficient, quick, and results were provided shortly after. If you are in need a rapid test I would highly recommend coming here. Things to keep in mind: - Get there around 8:30 if you are going first thing in the morning. By 9am the line was around the block! - Be prepared to pay $150 not covered by insurance. If you want to try and have it covered by your insurance YOU have to contact YOUR insurance company after to see if they will reimburse you. I have pretty great insurance and based on the Blue Shield website verbiage it was not covered. If you don't want to pay it is highly recommended to visit the drive-up testing sites located in LA and San Bernardino. However, don't expect results for a few business days. - Dress appropriately, be prepared to be in line for at least an hour. The beginning to end process can take around 1.5 to 3 hours. Of course, depending on how many people are in line. read more

They answered my many many questions without hesitation and wanted to make sure I knew what was going to happen next. They provided X Rays and a Radiology consultation.
