I have been going to Dr Levy for over 10 years. He has treated my family as well. After multiple horse back riding injuries and back injuries from work too. He has helped with my migraines over the years. I started to have my daughter go to him during high school with all her horse back riding and sports. I went to his office because I had a heart problems. All I did was hear him talk about trying to get the money from Promenades company approval. I don't know honey finally got approval. He worked on me about two minutes when I left there. My back had a little hump in it right now center of my back, any bills the insurance company for five different things well I'm going to find out what they were that he billed them for, then he sent me a bill for $30 over the $10. My co-pay was $10 and now he's got it up to $30 and he sent me a letter. They won't pay it so he says you have to pay five different procedures. If you cannot overcome or keep your other biases to yourself, at the very least and as a health care provider should know that weight is not a single determining factor for any health issue. Just had the absolute WORST telephone conversation with a doctor Levi. Probably the worst customer service I've come across in a long time over the phone. If he doesn't have secretaries, he should get a few to answer the phones for him so that his demeaning tone doesn't lose him business. I had a good friend of mine, buy me six alignment appointments with a doctor inside this same building. I googled what I THOUGHT was the one I had been to once before, but apparently I called the wrong one and boy did he let me know it. I told him that I had wanted to make an appointment. He asked what my name was and I told him. He asked if I had ever been there before and I told him only once. He started getting annoyed (which I could clearly tell through the phone.) He asked if I had seen a doctor Levi (which now I know was him) I repeated again that I had only been there once and that I didn't remember the doctor's name, but that he was an older gentlemen. He said "well I'm 51 so that doesn't mean anything" (I only said that because he sounded like a younger man, and because I was hoping maybe there was only two of them and through process of elimination we could find the one I'm looking for) Unfortunately it only seemed to aggravate him more... I said, "Well...I'm feeling like I have the wrong place." He then huffed and puffed and, I thought he asked me what my name was again, so I told him...but then he goes "No! How do you spell it!" Like practically yelling at me. "Oh!" I said...as I spelled it out. Him: "Well you just have the wrong business, who you're looking for isn't here. Me: "It must be in the same building then?" Him: "It's in the same building, it's in a different office...who you're looking for isn't here so you obviously have it wrong. I'm in suit 3, have you even been here before? No, so call HIS office NOT mine." I replied with an "Ooook a**hole." Honestly, I'm soooo glad my appointment is actually next door and not with him because I'd have canceled it if it was after that interaction. I truly can't believe he'd talk to someone like that, with such annoyance and zero customer service skills, just because they were confused about two chiropractic offices in the exact same building right next to each other. TW for: fatphobia, eating disorder, racism & misogyny. For context to this story, I am a fat, 29-year-old, college educated Latina. I walked in to the office and while I was filling out paperwork, Levy stated that I didn't have to wear a mask but if I felt comfortable I could and I could ask him to wear one too. I did ask him politely if he wouldn't mind wearing his for the duration of our appointment because the pandemic is not over as much as we all want it to be. When he returned from grabbing a mask, I saw that the cloth mask was situated under his nose only covering his mouth. It either stayed under his nose or chin throughout the hour. I didn't push further and kept my KN95 on tightly for the rest of the session. After I finished filling out the paperwork, he took me behind the front desk to his office where he stated that we were the only ones in the office so he'd keep the door open or else it got to be "80 degrees in here". He started asking follow up questions to add to my paperwork which included occupancy, family medical history, etc. He then asked me what my height and weight were which I provided. He put his pen down, looked me in my eyes and said, "You know what I'm going to say. I'm sure your other doctors have told you the same thing. You need to lose weight." I have a primary care physician (PCP), a pulmonologist (from a COVID-related illness), and a nutritionist I see for my binge eating disorder. None of them, all three women, have ever fat shamed me. In fact, my PCP did bloodwork and the only thing that came back as a flag was that my good cholesterol was low but nothing concerning. My nutritionist has been helping me adjust my food in a way that doesn't cause harm and focuses on intuitive eating and building mindful eating habits. Levy, without asking me any questions about my doctors, overall health, or anything, dismissed me and told me I just had to lose weight and that would fix the stiffness in my lower back. I let him know that I was working with my nutritionist and he didn't have to worry about it. He stated, "I'm just being honest, don't get offended." To add a little xenophobia to this, his next comment was about how I "spoke English properly" and asked what my race-ethnicity was. What would he have said or what have transpired if I wasn't a college-educated. "proper" English speaker, young professional? What happens to other patients, especially those whose English is their second language, who want to get care? At this point I was shocked and uncomfortable but too shy to leave so I stuck it out. As the examination went on, he placed a heating pad on my lower back, and called my insurance company. He put the call on speaker so I could hear what my benefits, deductible, and copay costs would be because he "valued transparency". As he spoke with the female representative, he kept cutting her off, saying that she probably didn't know her job and would end up having to speak to a manager, and condescendingly told her "wow you passed my test, I didn't think you would give me the right information" when she did give him the full information. She only asked him a few verifying questions like "what service are you providing" and he responded in a patronizing manner, "Like I said, chi-ro-practic care" while slowing his speech. She replied "Oh yes, chiro. Thank you," and he made her repeat the work 'chiropractic' because chiro wasn't good enough. He continued by wasting her time when he told her a knock knock joke, and then hung up while she was mid-sentence. His misogyny and I-know-better-than-you attitude was unprofessional for anyone, especially a provider. I don't have the words to say how uncomfortable, ridiculed, and embarrassed I was in that room. I didn't even get to enjoy or focus on the actual chiropractic care because I just wanted to leave. I cried when I got home because of the awfulness, lack of professionalism and decorum, and straight up fat phobia, xenophobia, and misogyny I witnessed. After having severe pain in my back and trying to relieve it myself I finally went to Dr. Levy. He started out by examining me and noticed that the left leg "artificial leg" was very slightly too long, or more likely I shrank a bit. Any way I got that cut down and have been working on other solutions with Dr. Levy to get fully comfortable once again and he has done and continues to do wonders for this over used body of mine. Doc is a bit old fashioned in approach but that's what I'm used to and comfortable with. He's a bit rough around the edges and hospitality isn't the strong suit, but he's a chiropractor. He cares about the patient even he is more forthright than most people would want. I don't mind it. I've been seeing Dr. Levy for over a decade. I suffer from an injury that I got as a kid, from falling about 15' out of a tree. Dr. Levy knows just how to treat me to give me relief from the injury. Once a month is usually all it takes. He uses heat packs, ultrasound, and my favorite, his quad head "thumper", which is a 4 head pack massager that makes you melt into the table with relaxation. Have had an excellent experience with Dr Glenn Levy! Came down with a back injury 2 weeks ago with a protuberant disc and excruciating pain. Within 3 visits he had me walking! Slowly, and with hardly any pain! I am impressed with his multi-modal form of treatment (Chiro, physio and humor-o:), his hands-on care, checking on his patients and in turn being directly accessible to his patients queries on back advice and appointments (a rarity in this day and age!)
