Do I have stress? I didn't think I did until I joined this class and realized that I could relieve many muscle aches that are caused by stress. Who knew? The Center is located on Phila Street in a small building near Ben and Jerry's. Parking is plentiful in the public parking lot across the street. My friend and I have been lucky enough to find parking on the street near the building. Just a note: if you experience cold feet, wear clean / non-street shoes - I found the floor to be very cold.

They are all super friendly, body positive, and open to all kinds of folk who walk through the door. I have taken classes with people of all ages, sizes, and strength/ability. The instructors take extra care to make sure everyone gets the attention they need to master the right moves and they all owe it to Terri for training them. Some of the instructors are professional dancers while for others it's a hobby, but they are all talented and lovely people. I've improved so much and after trying other studios in the area, this is my ultimate favorite.

These were not things parents imagined or "didn't see." I disagree that children being unable to properly dry their hands is not worth mentioning. In a children's facility, basic bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, working lights, and a way for children to dry their hands are reasonable expectations. I grew up dancing and spent years performing in ballet productions, recitals, and theater-style performances. I understand how rehearsals work, how costume changes work, and what it takes to put on a successful show. What I experienced at your studio was not typical of the many productions I have participated in over the years. Having a 7-year-old spend 4-5 hours at the venue after a full day of school for a single 2-minute rehearsal, with no costume changes, felt unreasonable and contributed to the overall sense of disorganization. I also recall that after the rehearsal, you addressed parents regarding the numerous complaints you had received about the length of the rehearsal. That conversation made it clear that you were aware of the concerns being raised at the time. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging those concerns, the message came across as dismissive--much like your response to my review. The issue was never that parents didn't understand dance or theater. The issue was that many felt expecting young children to remain there for over four hours after school was unreasonable. Every performance environment can be stressful, but I have never experienced the level of disorganization and chaos that occurred here. Dismissing concerns by suggesting parents are simply unfamiliar with theater or dance is unfair and misses the point entirely. It's surprising to hear that this is the first time you've heard criticism. Just because concerns are ignored, disputed, or removed from public view does not mean they don't exist. I've personally spoken with many families who have left your studio and shared similar experiences. There are other reviews publicly available on Google for anyone to read and evaluate for themselves. We have since moved to another studio that is significantly more organized, professional, and responsive to families, and the difference has been remarkable. Since leaving, we've experienced how other studios in the area run dress rehearsals and performances. The difference in organization has been significant. Even studios that manage larger productions and competitive programs are able to run rehearsals efficiently and keep waiting time for young dancers to a minimum. It showed us that there are much more effective ways to organize these events. Constructive feedback is an opportunity for growth. The defensiveness in your response only reinforces many of the concerns that families have raised. Rather than acknowledging any of the feedback, much of your response was dismissive, defensive, and focused on explaining why parents' concerns were invalid.
