Okay, so this is the second time that I had a negative experience, but I tried to give the benefit of the doubt the first time. Sorry, this is a bit long. 1. I had gone in one day to get a refill and a pedicure. I was sitting in the waiting area and one of the ladies yelled at me that I could go in the back. This was not a "hey", this was a very rude "didn't you hear me". The way she spoke to me was so rude the person's whose nails she was working on started laughing. It was very embarrassing. When I was getting my pedicure, she complained in a very loud fashion about me having gel on my toes. Then she was also very loud when complaining about the transparent color I wanted on my nails. It took the lady next to her asking me if I would like a third coat for her to calm down. I know exactly who it was but I don't want to post names. 2. So fast forward to weeks later, I am there again for a full set and a pedicure. The same person is assigned to do my nails and pedicure. I think everything is good and I leave to go home. I was told that my toenails were dry. ( she did my pedicure first). So I go ahead and put on my shoes, and when I get home the polish on a few of the toenails is mushed up. Okay so I go back the next day and they fix the polish. Okay then 2 days go by and the polish disappears off one of my toes and one of my acrylic nails has broken. So I get that fixed by another lady. Then 2 days after that, another two acrylic nails break. One completely and another has a crack. So I go back again ( mind you I live in Boston). The same lady fixed one of the nails and then tells me the cracked one is FINE and puts acrylic over it. She didn't charge me for that. Then a day later guess what happened _ THE CRACKED NAIL BREAKS. So I go back again. And when I say sloppy fix, and then charged me - CRAZY. The nail is thick with a thick coat of acrylic, nothing like the rest of the nails. Underneath the acrylic is clumped. My first experience at GG was actually great. I made an appointment and was seen right away by a younger guy there. While he did check his phone/text a couple times, he was thorough and my nails came out great. Didn't feel rushed and they lasted almost 3 weeks. Unfortunately, my second and last experience was awful. I made an appointment request for 12pm and was confirmed for 1. I showed up 5 minutes early and was not seen until 1:35 and the woman didn't start for another almost 10 minutes. She didn't say anything, rushed, and was so rough with the filing. They came out okay so I wasn't planning to leave a review but now exactly a week later multiple nails are lifting (gel mani) and have come off completely. Won't be going back. read more

I've been her multiple times and have never had issues but after today I'll never go back. I walked in with an appointment, waited 30 minutes in the back soaking my feet until they realized I wasn't being helped. When the man finally came back he started working on my pedicure while taking texting breaks, barely touched anything up and slapped the color on my toes. First visit (5 stars): A tiny bit pricey but super efficient and beautiful inside. Updated, clean, lots of sparkly girly decor. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure 9 days ago and both still look great. They spend a lot of time and attention on massaging your arms, hands, legs, feet too. I called ahead to make a reservation since I only had an hour to spend there and they had two people helping me at once so I could get back to work on time. They also matched the toe nail polish perfectly to the gel color I selected for my nails. Second visit (2.5 stars): I went back for a dip manicure. Was told I'd have a 5 minute wait but waited more like 15-20 minutes. The manicurist was different than my previous manicurist and this one filed my nails so aggressively it actually hurt and I had to tell him to be more gentle. Also, the dip I chose looks like an opaque nude color on the sample and is actually sheer and glittery on (yuck). Lastly, he must have forgotten to put the top coat on my thumb nails because they are dull and scratching badly. I will have to apply a top coat later when I'm home (no time to have them fix it because the wait was long). read more

I usually never leave reviews as it's too time consuming. However, this place was horrible. It was the most uncomfortable nail experience / atmosphere I've ever been in. I booked an appointment online from reading some of the positive reviews, I had high hopes. I went to get dip powder. I had on 3 week old dip so it needed to be removed. The nail technician I had used the machine to file the dip down, it burned so bad I sad "Ouch" like 5 times. All the other technicians including the owner just looked. I finally told the gentleman that my nails were thin and asked if he could just use acetone and a hand held file. He ignored me and kept using the machine. My nails came out horrible! To put it short they should be ashamed. Seriously people go somewhere else and save your money. read more

Was in the area and was unable to go to my regular nail salon. Walked in and was greeted right away. Kim serviced me immediately with a color change for my toes and finger. After painting my nails I had to tell Kim to go around my cuticles with nail polish remover to clean it up. Other than that I had a good experience. The establishment is very clean with nice decor. When I first started going here, I loved it. The place is clean, and they do offer an array of colors. I do the dip manicures, which is not something that all salons offer. I started going here regularly, and unlike experience I've had at other salons, they don't care who you are, what you like, and never made any attempt to get to know me despite the fact that I was a "regular". The past two times I went were a disaster. I got a dip with the "matching polish" which did not match at all. When I brought it to the attention of the tech, they said it wasn't their fault and they ended up just painting regular nail color over the dip AND over my painted toes, which of course, chipped. Despite that experience, I went back again to get my nails done for my wedding. They told me to bring in photos of what I wanted to have done, and they could make anything happen. I brought in several pictures, and they said that I couldn't do any of them unless I put on a full set of acrylics. I didn't want to do that, so we were trying to brainstorm alternatives. 4 hours later, I came out with an OK option, but was almost in tears as it was a far departure from my I envisioned for my wedding nails and they were so unwilling to work with me and so rude through the whole process. Recently I switched to the dip powder manicures and was going to a salon closer to my house but decided to get it done at Gliss Gloss and now I will only come here. I got it done with GG and she shaped my nails so nicely and the dip did not come out chunky at all which is always my biggest concern. My gel nails peeled after one day. Technician was rude and hit my hand with the file. Entire manicure took maybe 10 minutes.

Honestly I've tried to give this place multiple chances since it's right by my office, but I've now had way too many poor experiences. I've had to wait way too long when I've had an appointment. I've been rushed in and out as quick as possible. I've had more than one manicurist give me a mediocre manicure without even doing all of the things a manicure is supposed to come with. One manicurist cut my friend so badly to the point where she bled. I've gotten gel manicures from here that don't even last one week. Today I went in to get the dipping powder for the first time, looking for a solution to the short-lived gel manicure, as I need my nails done for an out of town wedding next week. They charge $37 (before tip) for a dip powder and don't even give you a manicure with it, it's just the powder. No nail grooming, cuticle care, or massage. The color turned out to be completely different than the sample, and is incredibly grainy, speckly, and looks like someone painted purple sand on my nails. I am so disappointed. They said I could come back another day to fix it but I don't have time before my trip. Fair to say this is my last Gliss Gloss visit. read more

After moving from another state I was on the lookout for a new nail place that did Gel Dip. This place when you walk in is bright, inviting and clean. They not only had the gel dip but they knew how to use it. I had a prior experience at another salon that did not know how to use the products. The staff are friendly and are very careful with my nails. They are the first to listen when I let them know my nails are thin and know how to treat them. I also have done pedicures. They throw in hot stones into the service which is fantastic. They are also very careful with my feet and I get great results. For the price you get fantastic service. I have been here twice now and will continue to drive from Cambridge just to visit this place. read more

Just moved to the Burlington area and saw the salon which picking up a few things. To start off, I moved from an AMAZING nail tech and have high standards for nails in particular. Came in as a walk in, they greeted me and took me back for my pedicure. They have different levels, I chose the best one as I needed a good scrub. I was able to choose a scent-- they had many different ones! I chose lavender, I recommend it. The chairs are new and awesome. The salon is very clean. They are very friendly. The pedicure was amazing. They repaired one of my dip nails quickly and had SO many options. The nail techs worked quickly and did great work. I will definitely be back!! read more

I've been here 3 times - the first two times were great but this last experience is definitely going to be my last. I had an appointment at 4:45 and sat there for 20 mins until finally someone came over and sloppily glued tips onto my nails. Then I was passed off to someone else that is just so aggressive with the drill and file to the point where I said ouch many times. He kept filing the sides of my nails so hard and ended up filing a groove into the side of my nail into my finger to the point where I started bleeding. My nails are also hanging out on the sides and the tips are not blended at all. You can clearly see a dip in the middle of my nail. On top of it all the nail tech used the brush to wipe off the table (same brush they use on every client to brush off the dip powder) and I look down and see somebody else's cut off nails all over the floor under my feet. Gross. This place was so convenient for me but this experience was definitely the deal breaker for me. read more

First time customer and I will return! As many have stated before, they did a very nice job with the space. It's bright, clean and open. I only needed a manicure and walked-in. Because it was during the week, it wasn't busy and they were able to take me immediately. She took time with me and when all was said and done..? An excellent manicure. They seem to practice very good hygienic practices; I have stopped using other nail salons because the space, bathroom and hygienic practices were lackluster. I've been coming here every two weeks for about two years and will continue to come back, despite moving a little further away. I get dip manicures, which you can't find at every salon, and they always do a nice job. The salon is very clean and their staff have always been pleasant with me. The owner Gigi is very hands on and friendly as well. Keep in mind, though, that this is an extremely busy salon, so yes sometimes you have to wait 10-15 minutes, even if you have an appointment, but they seem to do their best to accommodate everyone. I am totally disgusted by my entire experience. I was told a fill is 18 dollars when I made my appointment. My friends full set was said to be 30 I made an an appointment for an acrylic fill and a full set for my friend. We waited an HOUR past our scheduled appointments. We were seated and immediately completely ignored and disregarded. I asked for my shape to be changed to a slightly rounded version of the shape I had already. My cuticles are a mess, I'm covered in acrylic all over my skin, and my nails aren't nearly buffed enough and my shape is extremely similar to an Easter egg. My friend was cut (and bleeding) multiple times. Her shape is decent but her color is streaky (could have been helped by an extra coat of color). I've been getting my nails done every 2 weeks for easily 8 years. I haven't seen anything like this. 40+ tip for my friend and 25+ tip for mine. we were both baffled at how we were treated from start to finish. read more

My daughtet went there today and they were very rude to her. They started her nails then stopped in the middle to do someone elses. They also charged $25 when the website says $22. This is a nice looking salon with a lot of colors to choose from. That being said when I walked through the door the gentlemen behind the counter look annoyed. He answered the phone before even acknowledging me. I then asked him if there was room for a manicure he said fine and follow me. When I sat down the woman smiled and said nothing, all she asked was what shape I want my nails. She then proceeded to hurt me while cutting my cuticles twice, laughed and said she didn't even cut my cuticle. That was the last of her talking, she didn't speak to me again until I needed to pay. I went in one afternoon looking for information on getting a basic manicure. The man at the front desk kept asking me what I wanted. He acted bored, I felt that he was rude and didn't really want to deal with me. All I wanted was some information and what I got was attitude. Do they even know the meaning of customer service. True, the salon was bright and cheerful with a huge selection of color to choose from, and 15$ for a manicure is reasonable. But sadly I won't even try them after that experience. I got a dipping powder manicure done here as well as a standard pedicure. They use sanitized tools, the salon is clean, and nicely decorated. I was looking for a new place with good application, sanitation, and reasonable prices. The previous place I went to did a poor gel application and they were able to get it off no problem before applying the powder. The physical space is very nice. Clean, new, modern, nicely decorated. They have the new "dip powders." They also have a good variety of gel and regular polishes, as well. Although, they did not have the color that I wanted. The environment was relaxing. The pedicure area is very nice. The chairs at the manicure counter are not very comfy and the counter is low, so I kept hitting my knees on it. (Ouch!) It took an hour and a half for a pedicure and a gel manicure. The guy who did my pedicure and manicure took his time and overall did a good job. He was a little rough and a few times he hurt me, including cutting my cuticles too much (they bled a little bit). I wish that he would have let the pre-existing gel polish that was already on my nails soak off a bit longer. $60 for both the pedi and gel mani, a good deal. They also offer a loyalty card, offering a percentage off after a certain amount of visits. I am giving three stars, due to the guy being a bit rough and the polish job itself not being that great.
