Hate to write this. Been coming for YEARS. But now two bad experiences…read more 1. Went for a keretin. Absolutely did not take (I have had many) Went back for a second one and same thing. They must have not perfected that service yet. OK I ate the cost of that. 2. Had a 1:30 appoitment. Thy sent me TWO confirmations. I show up at 1:30 told it would be a 15 minute wait. Ok. I had taken off a half day of work so that was fine. At 1:50 I am told there is no one here to do the service. After I toll time off! I was offered a "conditioner" next time. I was booked for color. Don't need a conditioner. I said "how about half off color next time" Nope. Can't do that. So I had to leave. I know it is a school but I had an APPOINTMENT--please CALL next time before I head over and miss work and certainly don't act like it is my problem and I should accept the gift of a servie I do not want or need. Unacceptable

I just got my hair cut yesterday, and I'm super happy with it!…read more The last time I was here it was not called John Amico School, so it has been a while. It looks so much nicer inside than last time I was there! It doesn't feel as outdated anymore. My hair is very long so I couldn't sit in the chair for my cut, and Cayla did an awesome job! She was thorough and l left with shiny, healthier looking hair :) They have little QR codes posted around the stations, but I forgot to scan it before I left, so I wanted to make sure to leave a review here! Thanks for the haircut Cayla, my hair looks SO much healthier now!

Very happy with my Kerotine treatment performed by Kara she was very professional…read more Knowledgeable and carefully done. My review from 1 to 10 i give her 10 Quality of service.

i waited several weeks to post this review to make sure that i wasn't coming in too hot…read more i have been going to the location on Harlem since i was in elementary school and never had an issue, so when i saw there was a location closer to me, i figured id give it a shot. wrong move, because the student that worked on my hair and the "teacher" that was supposed to be overseeing her work completely destroyed my confidence in Tricocci entirely, and i will never step foot in one of their schools or salons ever again. i asked for a few inch cut and a bleach- i still had some blue in my hair, so knew off the bat that i wasn't going to walk out with perfectly lightened hair. i said this to them at the beginning of the service- i just wanted a lighter canvas to apply my color to, so this did not matter to me. what i didn't expect was to walk out with an uneven cut (at LEAST a centimeter longer on one side, and very noticeable) and the absolute WORST lightening job of my life. not only was the cut uneven but the bleach was too- allll the way around my head. one side is bleached to the corner of my eye, the other side is above my eyebrow. i have done better myself with 0 experience as a stylist. without frying it either (which unfortunately i did have actual chunks fall out after this service). maybe the student wasn't used to lightening away from the root- fine. but the teachers lack of oversight (she was more concerned about watching another student do a simple blowout) is what really got me. she barely checked in, i think twice during the service, the second time at the very end, to which she said "well.. it'll blend when you put the color in". ????? blend WHERE girl. (spoiler alert: it did not blend), and i am now having to spend an actual fortune to get this corrected. additionally, the student was more attentive to what other stylists were doing and her personal cellphone the entire time than what she was doing to my hair. she repeatedly dropped foils on the ground and still used them on my hair. she scratched her own scalp and stomach and didn't wash her hands before going back to my hair. she RIPPED through my hair with a circular bristle brush while it was wet and freshly bleached (thought it was kind of basic common knowledge that you should be gentle on hair in this state but i guess not??). you can see how sparse my hair is after this experience in the photos- my hair wasn't exactly the healthiest (hence needing a cut) but it was FULL when i walked in there. disappointed is an absolute understatement, i am still DEVASTATED (and furious) literally weeks later. if someone from management could contact me- that'd be great.

I've had the pleasure of knowing and learning from Nika for the past several years Most recently, I…read moretook her bridal detailing class and bridal business class offered through Chicago Beauty Exchange. I was so excited looking forward to the class because I knew it would be a great learning experience for me. Nika is one of those rare teachers that does not hold back when she is explaining or teaching you something. She will literally tell you all that she knows. And she doesn't get annoyed by people who ask a million questions (that's me). I'm in a season of my career that I'm trying to take things to the next level, and her class was the perfect class for me to take at the right time. I am a nerdy makeup artist who happens to have an advanced college degree. Nika appeases that side of me because she brings in a lot of her background in the arts when she teaches. She knows a lot about bone structure and color theory and is very knowledgeable about that world and how it translates to makeup. She just doesn't explain the what, she explains the how which, for a person like me, is how I really learn things. Nika is also very honest. Earlier in my career she gave me a very intense critique that gave me a lot to work on and helped to push me farther along on my journey. Nika has inspired me to work on my business plan, website, logo, know my way around legal issues, make quality connections, how to brand myself and to really dream long term about where I want my career to go. She doesn't discourage you but she empowers and encourages you to fulfill your potential. After taking her class, I have enough on my to do list to keep me busy for the next year, at least. And my confidence has increased that the goals and dreams that I have in my heart are actually reachable. She also spills her guts when it comes to her makeup application techniques which is so helpful. A lot of artists may leave out one or two most important steps in their technique that really perfects it. Or they will act like something they are doing is simple and common knowledge and gloss over it, when it is something they had to work to perfect. Not Nika. She is very open and sincerely interested in helping others become better at what they do. She explains her step by step and doesn't hold back on her products that she uses. I am very glad to have crossed her path and I plan to take more classes from her in the future.

I took the Bridal makeup workshop/photoshoot in June 2018 and it was great. We had a very relaxing…read moreatmosphere, awesome professional models, full wardrobe and a good photographer. Nika was a great instructor as always and my classmates were a dream to learn along side of. You will not be disappointed if you book a class with the Chicago Beauty Exchange.
