This business is a big scam. he did a project for one of my elderly customers. He promised them to change the panel by code with a permit. he charges them over price on this project because they old and now the city inspector shows up and says that all work was done without permits. my customers don't stop to cry because they give him their last money they have. after a week I'm calling him, and he don't answer my phone calls. today he pickup and I explained him the issue he told me to go fu myself and hangup the call. Over a few weeks we lost power to about 20% of our house. Over the course of a few years we had numerous electricians in to try and figure out the problem and correct it, but none could. I would give Glo Electric 6 out of 5 stars if I could. I've used them twice so far (soon to be 3 times) Once to install a Tesla Level II charger in my garage where they installed the charger and ran wire to the subpanel. This latest time I lost power to my office/bedroom, and they diagnosed it as a missing/faulty neutral. They came out and ran new wire from the subpanel thru the crawlspace and rewired the outlets isolating that room as it's own circuit instead of also powering miscellaneous plugs and switches outside the room as it was before. I run sensitive computer equipment in my office so I totally appreciated that it was now separate from other circuits in the house that might lead to spikes/dips in power etc. Ryan did the initial diagnosis and then James and Cory did the repair. Each one of them was very friendly, knowledgeable and a great pleasure to talk to. They explained things clearly and were very respectful of my home's interior while they worked, wearing booties inside, being careful moving furniture, and cleaning up completely when they were finished. Their prices were MORE than reasonable which was especially helpful since I'm also doing major construction landscaping at this time and money is tight. My quote was only for the circuit of the bedroom, but I mentioned that I was also having troubles with one light switch in my foyer and they took a quick look and noticed it was wired incorrectly in some way. They quickly fixed the wiring and now the switch works! No charge, very nice! The single biggest point of appreciation (there were many) for me though was that James showed me a burnt, melted wire nut he replaced that had been for some time heating up at one of the junctions because of bad/deteriorated wire contact; It was blackened badly and the housing was melted away and separating from the conducting spring inside. He only checked that wall switch (that was being used as a junction) because he was being very thorough checking everything electrical in the room even though I said I was only having problems with the outlets. He said even though it was still inside the fire retardant housing box in the wall, it could definitely have been the source of a fire. Looking at the condition of the wire nut, I think it was well within the realm of probability that Glo Electric saved me from a potentially VERY bad situation in the future! They took care of several significant issues outside the scope of the quote, but still honored the original quote; For that, and all the other ways this company and it's employees is excellent, Glo Electric is my Electrical Go-To company for life! I wish I could leave a good review, but I can't. I called Glo to get a repair on a melted 240 outlet for my EV charger in my garage. I gave Dave photos and a detailed description of the issue. He told me he couldn't give me an estimate and that they don't have hourly rates but charge by the job, but his rates were "competitive." He told me a tech would be at my place before 2pm. I sent him a text after 2pm telling him the tech wasn't there yet. He told me I was next. At about 4:30 the tech (Dave's early-20s son) showed up. He looked at the outlet, took the cover off the EVSE and told me it would be $600 to fix. This seemed high, so I told them I'd have to get a competing bid. The tech left, forgetting to put the cover back on the EVSE and taking the screws with him. The competing bid was from the very skilled tech for SESCO electric: $185. And that tech noted a serious safety issue Dave's kid missed. Competitive rates? With whom, Dave? A divorce attorney? One star off for disrespecting me by wasting 4 hours of my day, one star off for tripling the price of the job, one star off for missing the safety issue, and one star off for leaving my EVSE disassembled and losing the screws. If only I could leave a negative star for not offering any kind of apology or explanation. read more

Our lights were flickering and I tried myself to open the panel cover only to hear a massive pop noise. This is when I realized I was out of my league. Five star service beginning to end using this company. Dave came out for an assessment on the electrical at my home. The issue was narrowed down quickly. It turns out its never a good idea to add solar and a car charger to a 50 year old power box. We had a new power box installed the very next day. Everything has been great since. We called them for help with installing a new breaker and they said they can come the next day between 10am to 12pm but they didn't show up. We called to see if they're coming but they told us our appointment's not on their schedule and said we probably made an appointment with a different company, which we didn't. They came out that afternoon but the electrician said they'd need to come back next week to do the installation. They scheduled an appointment for the following week and said they'd come between 10-12pm. Didn't show up again...so we called and they said our appointments not on their schedule and the earliest they can come out is the following Monday. Hopefully they show up next week but it's very frustrating because this happened twice and we carved out time during the day so we'd be home when they arrive... read more

Just to close the loop, the issue was identified by another electrical handyman as the remote control receiver was bad. The receiver with new remote was $30 replacement from amazon. If I had believed Glo electric it would be $400 labor + cost of a new fan. read more

Our Solar panel fried our main power hub to our house December 2019. Solar company could care less, but David and Glo Electric were out at my house within 2 hours and fixed it. Then I got the bill for what the repairs would be to fully rebuild the main power panel . I paid it and got a brand new main power hub panel set up by Glo Electric. I filed my insurance claim and David at Glo Electric talked with my insurance company and I received a check in the mail that paid for everything minus my deductible. Glover Electric replaced my electrical service panel in January 2019. The installation was well done but the panel was not properly reconnected to my automatic transfer switch which permitted a backup generator to power the house when PGE power went out. The transfer switch was stuck on backup generator and would not reconnect to PGE when their power was on. Glover came back out and did a hard-wire bypass of the automatic transfer switch to PGE thereby rendering useless the backup generator. I thereafter attempted to contact Glover to fix the automatic transfer switch with no success. Glover eventually came to my house, took a few pictures and left. The next day he informed me (after I called him) that the transfer switch was improperly installed and it would cost $6495 for him to fix it. I declined his offer and shortly thereafter found Alternative Power and Electric in Boulder Creek who fixed the automatic transfer switch for $500. read more
