Since I got a lot of questions about Global Entry, I'm updating my review so you can see how to apply on my first review of GOES. First, the fee is reasonable $100 for 5 years and it includes pre-TSA. You can also get it for FREE; see how in my first review. Latest development and tip: You can now fulfill the last part of the process re: your GOES interview on an incoming international flight. If you happen to be flying back, before you go through passport control, walk over to the GOES office first, next to passport control and they'll process your final in person interview without making an appointment. Then you're out the door!! They make it so easy now. Read my first review for detail. Visits: many at TBIT Tip: If you travel internationally or just want the convenience of a TSA and Global Entry subscription, it's worth the bother to get. Wish they had this service in every non-US airport. I spent over an hour and a half at MNL airport... Urrrrgh! read more

10/26/2023: We decided to upgrade to get the TSA Pre-Check with Global Entry Card. You fill out the forms online and submit and wait for an in person interview. This process is the most difficult one to get cause they are ALWAYS booked. My husband kept checking online every other day for availability. We waited for like 2 months. If you see an open slot, take it even though you're unavailable. You can always go back online and reschedule. They are open late so we took a 7pm appointment. To my surprise, EVERYONE was all smiles and very friendly. They asked me a couple of questions, gave them my passport, CA ID to verify it's me, they took my picture for the Global Entry Card and that was it. It only took about 15 min at the most if that. When I got home that same night, I got an email telling me I was approved and then my card arrived a couple of days ago. So it only took about 1-2 wks for the card to arrive. Once you get your card, you need to login to the website to activate the card and you're all set. Happy travels! read more

My friends have been telling me to get Global Entry for years, even some of the officers while going through immigration in my return to the US have recognized me and suggested the same (since I travel abroad so often). What hold me back? Time! I really don't have much time available to do this, at least so I thought. On top of that there is the CBP MPC app, a free app that allows you to go to a separate and faster lane for immigration at LAX which so far worked great but more people are starting to use it too holding the line more time and if you travel as much as I do and work as many hours while traveling too, all you really want is run through it as fast as possible to get home in the least amount of time and get some real sleep time in your own bed. So I finally decided to do this and to my surprise the process was super comfortable and fast. 1. Applying is done online so it can be done anywhere. 2. Having a credit card that reimburses you for this is a plus! 3. It only cost $100 and last for 5 years. Did I mentioned that some credit cards will reimburse you for this? 4. Appointments are at exact time so there is no need to show up too early. 5. Parking in the green zone as required is only for 20minutes and it's right in front of the entrance. 6. You go in at your assigned time only. 7. Make sure to bring your passport. That's all they asked me to show. 8. It only took 2 minutes between the questions, photo and fingerprints. I'm glad I finally did this and since I took the 7am appointment and was out by 7:02am, I'm still able to go to work on time. Thank you TSA for making this so convenient! read more

Let me tell you a little secret. I have a memory from my previous life. I was this tiny little man with long white beard and red pointy hat. A French girl named Amélie took me around the world and took Polaroid photos of me at each destinations. It makes a lot of sense why I love traveling. I travel alot at least twice a year. So the restricted travel during the Pandemic was very difficult for me. Now that whole pandemic is somewhat better I decided to apply for the Global Entry. I got the pre-approval pretty quick but first available interview slot was June 2023!! That's one year from the time of my pre-approval!! Luckily the whole reservation system online shows live availability so as soon as someone cancels the appointment you can reschedule and claim that slot. First two tries of rescheduling failed due to not being quick enough, but after three hours of sitting in front of computer and many trials and error I was able to book an appointment for this month. Yesterday was my appointment and I was expecting DMV type of situation where I'll be waiting for a very long time with cranky employees. To my surprise it was the very opposite of what I have expected. Every person I have interacted from the reception lady to the agent who interviewed me was super freindly and nice. Arrived one hour early to my interview but was seen early after waiting only about 3min and was out in 7 minutes or so. No wonder this place have lots of positive Yelp reviews!!! I read all the positive reviews and was excited to come in and do my global entry interview. Left the place feeling concern for any poor soul arriving after me. What a nightmare of an experience. After a long work day and a long drive stuck in traffic, the last thing I wanted was to meet a front desk lady who was unnecessarily hostile and condescending. Here are some tips if you are unfortunate enough to go when she's working: #1. Try not to look too happy. Do not smile at her if you are a genuinely positive person. The look she will give you in return will make your soul shudder. #2. If you have any questions, be prepared for her to try to make you look like an idiot instead of being kind and helpful. The man who interviewed me was great. I hope that the front desk lady learns to be more compassionate and understanding instead of treating people like they are beneath her. Many people are going through tough times, and a little kindness can really go a long way. read more

The whole process took a year but seemed to have gone so quickly. I first applied back in August 2022 and received my conditional approval within 2 weeks. It's the interview part that took a year. The soonest appt I could get was July 2023! I tried doing it after arriving from my last international flight, but there was only 1 worker and 12 parties ahead of me. I decided to just wait until my appointment. I'm glad I did because the 2 CBP representatives that helped me tonight were so great! I highly recommend the Los Angeles Global Entry Enrollment Center. The location is great on La Cienega Blvd. close to 405 and 105 with great free parking. The staff is friendly and efficient. We were called right away for our appointment times. The interview was easy and quick. The agent confirmed our information and took our photo and fingerprints. The appointment took about five minutes total. I checked in at the front and was directed to an agent. After looking at my passport, the agent explained the Global Entry program to me and was very helpful. Overall, I am very happy with the efficiency and professionalism of the staff. The drive here is killer but has ample hours during the weekdays! The parking is free, so that's also nice. :) (as opposed to having to go to LAX, this location is a couple minutes from LAX) The process isn't too bad. I went in for a name change. No appointment necessary. Walk into the building, hang a left to room 155 (or whatever is specified when you walk into the lobby), buzz your way in, check in w the person at the front desk, and then get seated. I was in at 8:05 am and left at 8:25 am for my name change. All you need is to bring your new passport (w your updated name) and your current global entry card. It's literally a change in the computer system. I don't understand why they can't do this over the phone or under an online process, but who am I...? they then give you back your passport and your (now old) global entry card. The officer told us that our name has been updated in the computer system and records. He said a replacement card must be requested on the website and a payment of a fee to get a new card w your updated name. After coming here, I went online and requested a new card. It was a $25 fee for replacement. read more

Parking: I entered through arrival since the upper departure level was jammed packed. I still parked in P3 but drove up to level 2 to park. I still had to walk up to level 3 to be on the right floor. I parked less than an hour, or was $3. Global Entry: I followed the signs to the Tom Bradley terminal from the level 3 of the lot. Once you enter the terminal, the global entry office is between B and C (next to Rolex and across of Travel+leisure). I walked in and the front desk checked me in and asked me to sit with one of the TSA guards. He took my documentation and explained the program to me. Took my photo and finger prints. And was out the door in less than 10 mins. I got the approval email the next day in the morning :) read more

Accompanied hubby to his Global Entry appointment. The global entry process used to take place at the LAX terminals and it made the process a lot more stressful. This new location away from the terminals is so much more convenient. Even though there were 3 Global Entry parking spaces, there were plenty of green curb side parking. It's nice and very considerate of the customs to provide extra parking. Hubby's appointment was at 9:15am, but went in the building around 9am. He was out the door by 9:10am. I really appreciate how they made the Global Entry renewal process much more efficient. During COVID, the system is very backlogged. Hubby was scheduled 3 mths out. He received his card within a week. The drive to LAX via the 405 was never pleasant, suggest you give yourself enough time to arrive earlier than your appt. time. read more

I applied for Global Entry after waiting in a ridiculously long customs line in Denver this Summer. I applied in August and secured an appointment for the end of December. I arrived early to my appointment, and was seen immediately. The entire process took around 3-4 minutes. Driving down the 405, parking and walking into the terminal takes a bit longer but luckily I had an appointment during. but after the holiday season travel so everything was much lighter around this area than usual. I'd highly recommend applying if you are as impatient as I can be at times. I'm certain this Global Entry access will prove to be beneficial during travel abroad. My card arrived about 5 days after my appointment. Super stoked about this, well worth the $100! If you have Amex I'm pretty sure there's a process to be reimbursed in full for the cost. I even convinced my boyfriend who didn't previously have TSA Precheck as I did to apply so I no longer have to wait on him to go through security in a different line than me. read more

The Global Entry offices are now off La Cienega Blvd. There's a large parking lot for the building as it is shared with a number of other businesses. Head towards the main entrance to get to the Global Entry offices as there's no way to enter directly from the outside. The whole process went by pretty quickly--I checked in, was called shortly after, and then interviewed by an officer. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Love the perk of being able to cut the long lines at the airport, what a lifesaver! Totally worth it. read more

The drive from OC to LA wasn't the greatest but the ease of processing my global entry made it well worth it! Even the front desk/receptionist was friendly. Very easy process, I was able to get an appointment for my infant in the same week for a Sunday appointment. There was plenty of parking in the morning. The (very gorgeous!) island woman at the front was very sweet, and clear with her directions. The officer at station 1 was a kind and efficient man. I was in and out in 11 minutes! So, I thought I'd have a hard time here but wow am I surprised?! They've moved this location from LAX to a building with different businesses nearby. You have to look for a sign that says Customs & Border Protection then you proceed to enter through there and follow the signs that says Global Entry Interview. They have free parking as well and 20min parking for Visitors. When you walk towards the suite, you have to press the doorbell, check in with your last name, and an officer will come and take you. They will ask a few questions, take your finger prints, and take your photo. Everything took less than 10mins for me right when I walked inside the building. Make sure you have an appointment!! Located inside Tom Bradley Terminal adjacent to the Information counter on the 3rd Level is the Global Entry room. I arrived at 6:30 (for a 7:00 pm appointment) and it is now 6:53 pm, and I am done. Yes, the interview (if you can call it that!) took about 15 minutes. To be clear: Global Entry is NOT just a TSA pre-check program. It allows you to by pass Customs in most US airports (and LAX is one of them). Getting TSA pre-check is included with the Global Entry, so do not pay extra for that. I have a love/ hate relationship with travel. Like most people, we love getting to our destination, but its the waiting in line at the airport or customs which makes us question our sanity. I'm not a frequent traveler (compared to some other), but I do my fair share. In the past 5 years I've been to 6 countries outside the US, taken multiple cruises and traveled to 8 different cities within the United States to watch a hockey game. To me, my time is valuable when it comes to queuing up at the airport, and I don't want to be stuck behind the incompetent travelers who have no clue about what's acceptable in a TSA line. When I read about Global Entry, I immediately signed up. The process (for me) took about a month because I couldn't get an interview appointment that would fit my schedule. Well on May 4 (Star Wars Day) I was able to complete my Global Entry process. Big question: Is it worth $100 for this? Well its good for 5 years (expires on your birthday, and since my birthday just passed, I scored an extra year) and you're guaranteed TSA preck, and bypass customs line at most major US airports. Time is more valuable than the cost of the pass, and that's worth me giving up Starbucks for a month. The process in obtaining the Global Entry was quick and painless. I have heard they do reject people who have had blemishes in their record, even if they think its been removed. DUI's, for example, takes 10 years to get removed. I had to do Global Entry at LA since there weren't any interviews closer to where I live. Getting here was easy and there were parking spots. My appointment time was 7:50 am but I came early at 6:50 am. They got me in at 7:00 and I was out at 7:10 am. Very convenient. I recommend. read more

Parking P3: $3 first hour. Walk across the street to the TBIT (Intern. Term.) entrance and make a left. Look for the Rolex sign and you've headed the right direction. There's an information desk at the front, walk towards the back and check in at the desk with Customs. I arrived 3 mins before my appt and was called in right away. Sat with an agent who asked basic questions to confirm my identity and maybe a couple to get to know you. They will review the information about the TTP, but will hand you a form that goes over what they've explained. You'll scan your fingerprints and take a photo and that's it. You'll receive your card in the mail in a week. It was quick and easy - the drive sucks but deal with it. Congrats! read more

This process and interview was sooo much easier than I thought-now I wish I had done it sooner! I decided to apply for Global Entry as my TSA PreCheck is expiring and it's included with GE PLUS my Amex Card covers the cost so why not?! I applied Jan 27 and was conditionally approved Jan 29 and immediately logged in to book next available appointment for interview which said end of March-altho during the application I said I would do it upon my next travel return in immigration, but thought I'd look and see how soon they were available which was showing before my travels, so decided to book it. In the following days I would login and look and select reschedule to see if now showing sooner dates as people do cancel. Also they open up some days a day or two prior, with all available times which I ended up selecting Feb 9 as I was going to be in the area! Easy building to find, great free parking out front, great signage to office. Was 20 min early, they checked me right in, was called up within a minute and was asked to confirm a couple of things from application, photo taken and was approved and out of there within minutes!
