For my graduation, I plan on going to Ireland as my first out of the country trip in June of this year. I virtually knew nothing about passports before I came here and was hoping it would be a smooth process. Sal did an amazing job walking me through the passport process and giving me options for getting my passport in time for my trip. Unfortunately I didn't have all of the documents I needed, so it took a little extra time for me to finish up the process. Sal even guided me on where I could go in getting the documents I needed. When I had all my documents in order, I still didn't have my flight information because of the travel agency I booked through. Sal graciously booked a flight on the same travel day for me so I could meet the requirements for my appointment with the passport agency, which he had also made for me. I had my appointment on May 18, and my passport arrived at my doorstep on May 23. Yes, it's a little pricey, and yes there are certain specifications needed for this process, but it's 100% worth it knowing that your passport won't get lost in the mail. It's also worth it knowing that in my case I started the passport process in late April, having missing certain things, and still had my passport only a month later. I was quoted a much lower price from Solomon on the phone after getting absolutely shell shocked at a local competitor's place in the Santa Monica/West LA area who quoted me an eye-watering $700 to expedite a passport. The office isn't fancy, Solomon may be juggling multiple things while you fill things out, you might even have to help him with his camera as he's taking your photos, but let me assure you--Solomon will get the job done. So currently I'm sitting at LAX, at my gate with a brand new passport in under one day. Ruth is incredible. I texted her at 2 am when I realized that my passport was just shy of the 3 months validity so I might have been turned away for my trip. She texted me at 5 am and asked I could come to the office. She got me a 7 am appointment the same day, which meant that my passport would be made that day. I picked up my passport at 1:30 pm, and made it to the airport for my 5 pm international flight. Solomon is fantastic. He's quick, efficient and gets the job done. My two sons needed their renewals (as first time adult passport holders) quickly and he got us an appointment within a week, handled all the paperwork, got their photos taken and gave us helpful advice so we were in and out of the Federal building passport office quickly. And, he's far more affordable than the other last minute passport companies. I understand what people are saying about him being quick on the phone or whatever, but I believe it's because he's doing his job and helping lots of people so he doesn't have time to handhold. Just tell him what you need, do what he says and you'll have your passport in the time you need it. At the end of the day he gets the job done and that's all that matters. DO NOT GO!! We visited two weeks ago to get an expedited passport renewal. Solomon told us that we needed a flight booked and to call him 72 hours beforehand so he could book an appointment at the agency. When we finally reached the 72 hours, we gave him a call. He said he couldn't help us and hung up. We paid for an ENTIRE flight and he bailed. This agency did anything but help us. I was initially turned down by the government agency due to only having a copy of my birth cert and not the original. The woman at the agency was super unhelpful and stated the only way I can receive pass is if I go to the County, get an original, and come back within 3 hrs-- which was impossible because LA county is closed and there was no way I could make it back in 3 hrs.
