My daughters and I checked out this locally owned and operated spot for lunch today based on the Google reviews. I'm going to be honest, as we walked up I said, "this is either going to be awesome because every single review is 5 stars, or these people asked their friends to write the reviews because honestly... who has ever seen a place with a perfect 5.0???" Well we went for lunch, but got a whole experience instead. We were greeted at the door by Scott, one of the amazing owners, who walked us through the menu and gave us a little back story on the fresh made food and their beverage selection. We then met the other owner, Mike, who was just was wonderful as Scott. They are seriously two of the nicest people I've ever met. When I told them I don't like hotdogs, they said I needed to try one of their angus beef hotdogs. So they grilled one up and brought it to us to try. They weren't wrong... it was a darn good dog! Then our food came out and it was fantastic! We had the tots with cheese and brisket, the Havana, and the Cape Town with brisket. Everything was delicious. Another thing they did that was just a step above every other place I've been is that when we told them we would be sharing, they divided the food into thirds so we all had everything on our own plates. Service, food, experience 10/10. I feel like we were treated like family. Maybe better. What more could you possibly want? We were like, "okay now we understand the reviews!" Go check this place out. Went here back when they first opened, and the food is great, lots of fun varieties with flavors that are spot on for the seasoning from many different countries. The owner is passionate, enthusiastic, and incredibly kind and welcoming. He treats his patrons like family and is so incredibly grateful. I love, love, love the seasoned house made chips! The chili is great, has tons of flavor with the perfect bite, and it's gluten-free yay! The wings are great and super flavorful and crunchy yum yum! I think my mom had mango something that I tried. Really good! The salad with chicken and fruit (mango and mandarin, maybe) was very tasty too! Great dressing that accentuated and didn't overpower at all. They even have treats like yummy-lookong cookies and such. Thumbs up from my son for the sweets he tried. Excellent place and conveniently located near museums if you want to grab a quick bite before or after a day at the museum. I love to support businesses with owners like this one. PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH - why hadn't I heard of this place before today?! Historically, I have been frustrated by the lack of good sandwich options in the Fan. After seeing "Global Fusion" open up next to Goatacado on Main, and seeing stellar reviews online, my wife and I decided to give it a try and walked over for lunch today. I ordered the Cuban and it was easily the best I've had in RVA (and trust me, I've been hunting for a good cuban for the 9+ years I've lived in the area). The bun was super soft and slightly toasted, and filled with a generous portion of incredibly tender meat topped with what appeared to be a house-made mustard and delicious pickles. The cheese was melted into the meat and the whole thing just completely melted in my mouth. On top of that, the owners were super friendly and seemed to really put a lot of passion into the food. I will CERTAINLY be adding Global Fusion to my "go-to" spots for lunch. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. read more

Just tried this place and loved it. The inside of the restaurant is really cool with postcards and pictures from places all around the world. The menu is thoughtful and filled with interesting bites. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the owners/management and they were really cool and nice guys. I ordered the Kingston sub that has jerk chicken and a mango slaw on top and a tarragon crema. The sub tasted great, the chicken had a lot of Smokey flavor and spice and it was all cooled down with the mango slaw and crema. The bread of the sandwich was also really good, it was soft and everything I'd want a piece of bread for a sub to be. My meal also came with chips on the side that are made and seasoned in house and they were borderline addictive. This place is definitely a welcomed addition to the RVA food scene and the location and service is five star. I highly suggest giving this place a try. read more

Just opened and is a much needed addition to the food scene in Richmond. Located in the Fan at 1825 W. Main St. this new eatery adds a new dimension to international dining! Global themed hot dogs and sandwiches are a epic hit! Foods are from Korea, Greece, France, Cuba, USA, Thailand and more! Very authentic and great prices. We had the Caribbean Hot Dog with mango saw, banana ketchup, Scallions, Cilantro and a habanero drizzle which was fantastic and filling. Also got a Havana Sandwich which was Mojo Smoked Pork, Ham, Fontina, Gruyère& Gouda Cheeses, honey mustard on a toasted roll. Great flavors blend together for another home run. Also had a all beef dog which was delicious. Also had a a Tomato, Cucumber and avocado Salad that came fresh with a incredible balsamic dressing! The many, many sauces and salsas are all fresh made and ever entree comes with fresh made potato chips. The service staff was great. Was greeted and made to feel like family. Easily a top 3 restaurant in Richmond (along with Blue Atlas and Bocata in any order) based on food alone, but also probably has the best service of any restaurant here. Tried the Kingston and the Istanbul and these quickly rose to the top of my best sandwiches in Richmond list. The bread pudding muffins were also great and flavorful but not too sweet. Back to the service- the owner seems like one of the most genuine people I have met. He definitely deserves the success through his hard work with creating this concept. Very unique and flavorful food, very friendly service. I wanted a quick between-class meal and gave this new spot a try because the menu looked super interesting and the price range was reasonable. I ended up ordering the Istanbul smoked chicken "shawarma" wrap for takeout and when I arrived to pick up the person working the counter (who I believe was the owner but I am not entirely sure) was super friendly and greeted me by name since I'd ordered ahead. He was in great spirits and made certain that I knew he appreciated my business. The food was hot and ready and the portion size was generous. I was starving and I couldn't even finish the sandwich! The only small critique that I would make is that the chicken could have used a little bit more seasoning, but it was cooked perfectly and I didn't enjoy my food less because of it. It's clear that a lot of love goes into the food here and it was such a bummer to see the dining room and patio completely empty when I went to pick up my food at the beginning of dinner service. The menu is creative and the customer service is superb, Global Fusion is a perfect spot for a quick bite or a sit down meal. Went to their grand opening today the food was so good! I asked Mike one of the owners what he would recommend he recommended the Istanbul it was so incredible! Was super flavorful and the naan bread it came on was also so good! There soda is also A+ I got I think it was vanilla agave soda from the fountain all the other flavors looked outstanding as well.
