Plenty of parking around back, it may be tricky driving into the location but we met right at 5:30. My friend got there before me and got us on the waitlist. Luckily, it wasn't that crowded yet and were seated pretty quickly. We decided to start out on their house margarita...my stupid self went ahead and answered the server "the largest one you have!" They were NOT kidding - this cut was gigantic! I told my friend that we will be getting one to share between the both of us. I made it a personal goal to finish at least half of it before leaving... I decided on their chef's special, carne steak (it was all the meat lol: steak, chorizo, with rice and beans). OMG, it was amazing with so much left over! (Spoiler - it taste amazing cold too! haha). I don't remember the dessert that we got but it was seriously like a big pancake churro with a scoop of ice cream. The place is clean and our server was great! He was on top of everything, let us do our thing and checked us on at the right time. I'm already excited for the next girl's catch up date already.

I ordered simple dish taco and enchiladas, however the rice was overcooked with no flavor. The enchiladas was covered in sauce that looked like mole sauce not enchilada sauce. The taco wasn't bad , just not appetizing. The ambiance of the place give old Italian restaurant with flair and splash of Hispanic banners. Just go to Mi Jalisco food there is way better. Servers were friendly and nice.

We were seated promptly, given menus and didn't have to wait very long for our server to bring taco chips and salsa as well as a white dipping sauce. ( It was a little sweet for me but it mixed nicely with the salsa) He took our drink order and we looked at the menu. It's nice that most places have unsweetened tea, because I'm not a soda drinker....but sometimes I want something other than water. We saw a nice size platter at the next table that looked really good, so we asked our server about it. It was a Taquito platter with rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole. We were looking for a light meal so we decided to split the platter. It was very good, the Taquitos could have used a bit more filling, but everything was delicious. It had that colorful ambience that always gives a feeling of a fun party.

He definitely was not earning his pay really not sure why he was even there As I've said before not the same

Cool kinda out of the way location - believe this might qualify as a 'hidden gem' ;) Not a fancy place, but had some great Mexican food! It's was about 2:30 but I was still able to order from the lunch menu, so I sampled the Taco/Burrito/Rice special - not bad at all! Everything tasted fresh & they also had great chips/salsa. Service was great as well. I believe this was a spot-on choice based on the experiences of previous Yelp trailblazers - I'd definitely return if I find myself driving down Hanover Courthouse Rd...heck I'd even jump off 95 at Exit 92 & drive the 5 miles over to to get there! What surprised me was how much seating inside and out. Much more spacious than I thought it would be. It was a little chilly (the mini split unit was right above our table) so maybe bring a sweatshirt or jacket. The food: all fresh and delicious. My husband had tacos. I had a quesadilla. Generous portion sizes. I had enough left to bring home. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was prompt in taking our order and checking back while we ate. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to others and will return to eat there again soon!

The place offers a full bar with seats and there are around 11 or so tables situated in the front of the space and a Mexican grocery & variety store towards the left side and back of the space. For food, they offer tacos, burritos, quesadillas, huaraches, fajitas, gorditas, sopes, tortas, caldos, tostadas, salads, cerviche, shrimp dishes, chilaquiles, fries, and a kids menu. They also have happy hour food and drink deals weekdays 3pm to 6pm. The prices seem reasonable. I stopped by La Catrina around 5:40pm before the place started to get really busy. I took a seat at an open table and complementary chips, salsa & queso were brought out. I requested an ice water as I was deciding. I decided to go with 2 happy hour items including Flautas ($9.99 plus tax) and the Tacos de Asada ($6.99 plus tax). The place became really busy and the server brought over more hot fried chips as I waited for my food. Those chips were very crunchy (some broke apart) and good with the mild salsa and dense queso. My food arrived in 20 minutes, a good amount. The flautas had 3 rolled deep fried tortillas filled with shredded chicken topped with refried beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, & avocado slices. The tacos de asada were 3 soft pressed corn tortillas filled with chopped grilled steak, cilantro & onions, radish & lime on the side. Green and red sauces were provided too. After I finished all of the food, I got the check which was $19.02 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was very good and I was very full. The service was a bit delayed since the place was very busy with dine-in and takeout orders. I needed to go next door to walk around before heading out.
