Had a very high recommendations from a friend, but after this his status as a friend is in question. Walked in and it immediately smelled the damp. There's no wait staff and all ordering is done through kiosks. I put my order in and patiently waited. And waited. 47 minutes later, I finally got my food. I didn't think a chicken sandwich and some fries was too difficult an order, but what the heck do I know. The fries were crispy and well seasoned and that's what faint praise I can give my meal. The Nashville hot sandwich was less spicy than salsa made by someone from a suburb in Minnesota and was drier than it should be. My pimento balls fared no better, they were bland and still cold in the middle, with the only flavor being a thin honey sauce that offered little in the way of a coherent flavor. The only reason I'm not giving this place a 1 star review is because I tried my dining companion's Mac n' cheese and really enjoyed it. Definitely not worth the time or money. Avoid this place and just get fast food instead.

The fries in the image look wet... but they are not! Soooo delicious and the sandwich was just as amazing!!! I wish I'd found this place my first day in Richmond!

Fantastic to find a gluten free bun and dedicated fried chicken with fries. VERY rare to find a non-chain with gf fried foods. That being said I was really glad to get some good, gluten free food. The service was a bit slow but the place had a nice interior and it was a good spot to stop and relax.

Solid! Delicious chicken for gluten and gluten free fried chicken lovers! I wish I tried the pimento cheese! My GF fried chicken tenders were some of the best I've tried. My family had the OG chicken sandwich and they really liked it, especially the spicy honey! Fries were ok- have had better and have had worse. Staff was fine.. you order at a kiosk so we didn't talk with them much. Eating area was nice but nothing special- you are going for the chicken. Bathroom- not the cleanest but ok. Again you are here for the chicken. Price was a little more than I think it should be but eating out has just gotten so pricey so it didn't surprise me.

Visiting Richmond from SoCal, we wanted to try good southern food and the folks at ACWM told us about Buttermilk and Honey. Honestly, we already knew it'd be good just from the name, and it actually was! Forgetting about dieting, this meal is about indulgence. Everything was deep fried ha ha. We got the fried green tomatoes, smashville hot fries, and chicken tenders w/ Mac N Cheese and collards. Everything was very TASTY! Maybe the weakest dish was the friend green tomatoes. But even that was still pretty decent. Fries were fried to perfection, still crunchy even with sauce on top. The nashville hot spice, spicy ranch and diced pickles went well with the fries. I kept eating it and really had to force myself to stop. The main dish was chicken tender with Mac N Cheese and collards. Having collard green with this meal was perfect. It was also tasty and cooked well. I like collard green and we don't really get this a lot in CA. Chicken was great. Juicy, great taste, crispy and pipping hot. The Mac N Cheese was probably not the best thing for your body but at this point, who cares. It was well seasoned with lots of cheese...divine... I'm glad we went to Buttermilk and Honey but I'm also glad that we don't live in Richmond. I can't imagine the level of self control you must possess in order to not overeat at this place. =) And I meant it as a compliment.

Buttermilk and honey is the perfect place to go before a show at the national! The food is delicious and comes out quickly! I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and juicy! I'm so glad that they opened up a location after being at hatch local.

I was worried because of some reviews noting long wait times for food and rude staff, but our experience was exactly the opposite! We came at 5:30 on a Saturday and it was too packed, plenty of tables available. Food took about 15 minutes to come out. I got the smashville and it was delicious - love the spicy ranch and slaw. My chicken breast was super thick and the meal was filling. Only $12 for a sandwich and fries, $14 up charge for the mac and cheese which was good but seemed like it had been sitting a while (not entirely an issue, just a note). Staff was friendly and had no issue pouring water for us.

Basically, it's "chicken & fries". So, if you're in the mood for a chicken sandwich or chicken tenders, you should check it out! I loved the seasoned chicken strips.... Not too spicy, not bland, but just right! My crinkle cut fries were seasoned too! Crinkle Cut is my favorite cut of french fries, so I was definitely happy. I selected the mumbo sauce, which was a seasoned hot sauce. I think I'd prefer a different sauce next time. We ordered online before arriving via the website. This worked out perfectly! When we arrived, our food was prepared. We went to the counter grabbed our meals, which were packaged "to go", found a seat, and enjoyed our filling lunch. Others were waiting 15-20 minutes for their food to be freshly prepared. Hubby ordered the OG chicken sandwich with fries and he devoured his meal! This is a great place for lunch! The vibe was lively and old school r&b was playing in the background. We enjoyed our experience!

I was looking for a place to do some school work and eat and so decided to come here for lunch. I did the chopped salad with chicken without cheese and it was delicious! There's lot of seating options and you put your order in at the kiosk. The employees were really nice. Overall chill place with good food, recommend!

Food here was impeccable - truly delicious! (5/5). I got the grilled chicken wrap and it tasted super fresh and crisp. Ranch slaw was okay, but could've used a bit more flavor in my opinion. It was a self service kind of restaurant though so you order at the tablet and pick up your food at the counter (3/5). The vibe of the place was kind of cute but nothing crazy (3/5). This is a place that is like Guy Fieri certified or something like that, they had a cute sign about it.

YUM. The Mac and cheese and chicken sandwich were so good, so cheesy. Crispy fries too. Loved their sweet tea. All the food we got was clearly delicious, and it came out within a reasonable amount of time. Looking forward to coming back here

Wife found this place as we visited downtown Richmond and decided we need to go as she has a gluten allergy. Thanks to the Atly app we found this winner! Having fried chicken that was gluten free was almost enough for us to make the trip itself. So worth it too! We each had a sandwich, the Smashville and the Southern Hospitality, with fries and tea. ON POINT! The food was prompt and flavorful. The seating area fits the selections and feeling of the food. If management is reading this, your fries seasoning. If you are not already, I recommend you sell it for folks to take home. Thank goodness this is about an hour from the house or the wife would have us going regularly! Make the trip, you won't be disappointed.

Came here with baby boy looking for a bite while we were in the area. The location was spacious and ordering was efficient on kiosks. I can't really speak on the service since we ordered through a kiosk and he grabbed the food from the counter once it was ready but the employees seem kind and had a positive attitude Now let's get into the food. We ordered a regular chicken sandwich with a side of hot sauce with fries. I got the OG chicken sandwich which has lettuce, tomato, spicy honey, ranch and shaved pickles. I got that with a side of mambo sauce, pimento Mac and cheese and a sweet tea. We both enjoyed our food. The fries were thick crinkle cut (which I love) and SEASONED. The hot sauce was incredible with large specs of pepper. My sandwich the was super thick, juicy and I loved the thinly shaved pickles with the ranch and hot honey. Easily 9/10, however with it being a heavy sandwich the bottom bun gets soggy quickly. The Mac and cheese was solid but I would have loved for it to be creamier. Sweet Tea was the perfect accompaniment for this meal 10/10. Overall we enjoyed our bites and I would definitely eat here again. I'd love to try their fried green tomatoes and collard greens!

The menu had lots of exciting brunch dishes, appetizers, salads, soups and deli section as well. There were plenty of cocktails, beer and wines choices available too. Prices were decent. I picked the Jewish Sailor that was a combo of toast with pastrami and beef sausage with red onion and mustard. When the dish came, it looked so scrumptious. Loved the flavor of the pastrami, the crunchy sausages, crispy toast bread, coleslaw all of it. I also got to try the pierogis that were delicious as well. The service was good overall. Our waitress was attentive, while managing several tables at the same time. The dishes came out quickly despite being busy. Overall the experience lived up to the expectations.

And the one you'll skip over but shouldn't is the Adkins Special, which is 3 eggs and 2 meats (or 2x one meat) -- no bread, no fruit, no potatoes. Sometimes you just need to go all proteins! Our server was Braxton, a delightful young lady. She was witty and a diligent server and all the things...and she did not steer us wrong when it came to the food. My husband and I both had a taste for ordering an Italian sub and Braxton said we would not be sorry if we ordered it, and we were not. I was literally moaning with almost every bite. I am a potato salad connoisseur. I will not eat it unless it is freshly made. I don't do any of the grocery store type of potato salads. (Gross!) I asked Braxton about it and she said that in general, she doesn't even like potato salad, but at this restaurant, she absolutely loves it and highly recommends it. Knowing it is freshly made on site, plus her recommendation, I decided to try it. Oh my word! This potato salad is straight from the portals of heaven. Sooooooo good. This might not seem like a big deal, but it's a very big deal to me. I like freshly brewed tea. Nothing bottled. Nothing out of a soda machine. (Disgusting!) I asked Braxton if the tea was actually brewed there and she said yes. Tea is not the same everywhere. Sometimes it's so weak, you don't even realize it's tea. Not here! It was perfect. This makes a huge difference to me as when my beverage is perfect, I enjoy my meal a lot more. The entire meal was top notch. The service was absolutely excellent. We loved having Braxton and would ask for her again. A DJ was setting up as we were eating. We learned that they have karaoke and trivia nights earlier in the week as well as dance nights on the weekends. My husband and I mentioned that we would definitely come back and bring friends. I loved my experience here and it could not have been made any better by anything.

The deli itself is great, and makes a lot of awesome sandwiches for decent prices. As I said, I don't like the weird upcharges for certain ingredients, but so be it. It makes the prices of a sandwich soar from decent to ridiculous. The sandwiches aren't altogether authentic Italian NY-NJ style, but they are very good. I loved the parts of it that I had fresh, however when I had the rest of the sandwich a little later it had gotten extremely squidgy and soggy because they use a regular loaf of bread rather than anythng hard or Italian. Again, makes it less authentic but still very tasty. Despite these remarks, I haven't had a sandwich this good in the Richmond area before, so you should give it a try. And if it were Niche Produce, then they'd only sell unusual and hard to get hipster vegetables and sandwiches. Whereas if it wer Nix Produce, it would close down soon. And if it were Knickers Produce then I would have torn them down a lot more quickly and intensely than I did in this review.
