Moving is stressful but Global Moving made it easy. I needed movers and booked with them that week. Everything was emailed to me and confirmed using their online portal. A deposit was needed paid over the phone and everything was in order and ready to go. The movers arrived on time from DC to Philadelphia and gathered my belongings and met me in DC to unload. They even offered to help me move things from my own car. They made it very easy and was happy with the service. At the end I signed completed payment and was unpacking in no time. The best way to describe this service is that it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't amazing either. The movers arrived late after getting lost, but once they arrived everything moved fairly smoothly. We were particularly frustrated to learn mid-move that certain glass pieces would need packing products at an additional charge (we have two glass top tables and glass shelving in the TV stand.) The crew did help us figure out a less expensive alternative - also we decided to take some items ourselves. At the end of the move we also incurred surcharges for the use of tape for furniture. Not the end of the world, but also left us a little annoyed. Many of the challenges that came up might have been avoided if we could have accessed the pre-move inventory (could never manage to use that feature, though it was promised when we signed up for the move). I also feel like we were partly to blame because we couldn't provide an accurate picture of what we had. Do have to give kudos to the team for hanging in for a long day and getting all of our items from point A to point B safely. read more

I was easily able to schedule the appointment over the phone and received a quote that was way lower than the cheapest estimate I received from five different moving companies. On the day of the move they showed up promptly at the scheduled time and were able to complete what was expected to be a 4-5 hour move in just over 3 hours - thus making the already attractive price even better. I have moved about 4 times and this was by far the best that I've had. Getting started was super easy and Anna always sent me emails when my move was approaching. She gave me a 2 hour window for the movers to arrive (8-10am). They came closer to 10am, which wasn't bad, but I wish they were there at 8 or 8:30am. I had 3 movers and they were all very nice. The definitely knew how to hustle. They moved my items out of my 2 bedroom apartment in about 1 hour. They got to my next destination (a storage unit) before I did, so they definitely weren't wasting any time. They were also very quick in unloading the truck. The only thing that was disappointing, was that they damaged some of my items. My bookshelf that had lasted for all 4 moves, was now broken. :( The other thing that was upsetting, was how they stacked my boxes. I have all my boxes clearly labeled. So I would expect movers to not stack a heavy box on top of a box marked Wine Glasses & Fragile. I had to rearrange the boxes that they were unloading and tell them where to place the items in the storage unit. The also tried to stack items on my dining room table that would have definitely scratched it. It makes me a bit nervous about how things were packed into the truck. Other than that, the move was very good. I would use them again, but definitely give directions on how to move every single item. read more

Item handling- The movers were quick and took great care of my things, and they handled fragile items better than I did. (When I would say "should I put this here?" they would say "no no, let's wrap it first and find somewhere more secure.) That's my kinda mover! Scheduling- Their system makes it easy to get an estimate and schedule a date. I spoke with Evgeny and explained my limited budget. He gave me tips on how to prep so that the move would be quicker and was creative in working within my budget. In the end, the cost was less than the estimate. Cost- I got quotes from 8-10 different movers and Global was the most fair-priced. All fees/discounts were accurate, with no surprise "gotcha" fees, so all I had to do was sign and go. My only gripe is that they charge a 6% credit card fee when the credit card company charges 3%, but they did tell me about this ahead of time and I just didn't get a chance to get cash. I will definitely hire them again. You should hire them too. read more

Erik and his team (Tomas & Vadim) crushed my move in under 3.5 hours. I was drawn to the Global Moving based on their stellar rating on yelp and requested a quote. Within an hour I had an email from their office and they were calling me to set up my move. I had a narrow window to move and they were move than accommodating. I request quotes from a few other places and they were the cheapest of the 5 star movers I contacted. They showed up to my 4 level townhouse with tight, turning stairwells and long walks in their 24" truck and had my furniture moved complete out of my place in 1.5 hours with barely a mark on the walls . I originally assumed it would take them at least 5 hours total as it was about that when I moved in, but there was little time wasted getting me settled. Once we arrived at my new place, they didn't skip a beat and were finished in about an hour. Couldn't have been happier. They showed up 45mins late and the truck was too small. I had a time slot from 10am-1pm for the loading dock at my new apartment which we almost completely missed. They got to the dock at 12:30, about 15 minutes after I got there. Because of this, we had to complete with other residents for the elevator.The quality of work declined as time went on. They spent a lot of time talking which slowed them down. Finally the lead mover rushed through the signature paperwork at the end which I could've contested but I was so over situation. I just wanted to be done so that I could finish the rest of the move myself. Upon further inspection, I noticed that a lot of my items had been scratched. Never again! read more

If I need to move again I will 100% go with Global Movers. I've moved 6 times in just over 5 years so have dealt with a slew of movers. These guys were without a doubt the best! I actually found them through Yelp, and thought that this many 5 star reviews can't be wrong, and they weren't! Erick and Chris were my movers and they did everything right (and this is coming from someone who is pretty picky). Let's start with calling me to let me know their ETA. This was super helpful. I have beautiful oak floors and they literally (I kid you not), put down a red carpet throughout the house to protect the floors and were so careful. They treat your house as you would, with the upmost respect. I have to say that they were so quick and efficient, they beat me to the new spot, and were moving constantly for the entire 3+ hours. These guys really are professional and I can't find enough good things to say. Movers can be two extremes and these guys gave me piece of mind, which during a move is invaluable. Unlike a lot of other movers they don't at all nickel and dime you. The price is VERY fair and are willing to make you a deal (and in fact have one through Yelp that will save a few $$). read more

Global Moving Systems was great from beginning to end. We were really stressing out about the move and were pressed for time, so we hired GMS to take care of everything. Despite a somewhat short notice for a reservation, they were able to put us on their schedule for the day and time we needed, and the movers were punctual and professional. What we really appreciated was that we had a certain time that we needed them to arrive by, no earlier, and they showed up at the time they said they would. They worked extremely hard and showed care with our belongings--furniture, clothes, everything. With their help, we were able to get out of our old place in a timely fashion and move into our new home pretty seamlessly. We literally could not have done it without their help. Very impressed! We also appreciated that there was nearly an immediate response to all questions/concerns/communications we had with the owner. Everything that was discussed over the phone and agreed upon regarding our needs, they followed through on. There were no sneaky hidden fees, everything was simple and straightforward. The owner was great to work with, very pleasant and upfront. At the end of the move, the mover who billed us for time, etc. had some confusion over a specific billing detail, but Eugene followed up very quickly, clearly explained everything, and was more than fair with us. I was very satisfied with Global Moving Systems. The movers were on time and ready to work. I was satisfied with interviewing with Global and how they followed up both by phone and email. I was given an hourly rate discount and although we went over our time by two hours, I anticipated it so we did not complain. There was more inventory than I anticipated we would have. The only issue I had was that initially they had on masks, then they took them off and never put them back on. I asked them to put them back on and they didn't. It was hot and very muggy that day. I should have asked if they were vaccinated but I was busy monitoring the move. I had on a mask, though. I would recommend Global Moving Systems. read more
