I had a vision in my mind but didn't know where to begin. I took a look online and found the closest place that had exotic hardwood and to my surprise and delight they had more than I possibly could have imagined. On top of that, the fact that I only needed about one linear foot from maybe 3, 4, or 5 different types of hardwoods I was afraid that might be challenging. The gentleman whose name I forgot that was working told me to not even think twice about it. He said to just pick what I wanted tell him how much and he'd cut it which is exactly what he did. A picture of the first five of my taco plates with individual sections to put all of your toppings and build your own is below.

I was in need for some exotic wood for handle making. They were very helpful showing me everything they had and then some that would work for me. I highly recommend them to experienced or new woodworkers. If you need turning blanks, veneers, slabs, or anything in between they have it or can get it. If you are looking for plywood or construction lumber look to others.

Great local company. They've been in business for decades - let's keep 'em around! Where else can you pick up a gorgeous slab in-person and on-demand in the Bay Area?! So many beautiful slabs at reasonable prices. Highly recommend for artists, designers, furniture builders, DIY-ers, and anyone who appreciates beautiful wold.

We have been looking for about 2 years for a rustic mantel for our fireplace. We happened to be in the area and thought we would check out the shop. What a find! Beautiful choices and great customer service!! Found our mantel on the spot! So many amazing options from all over the world but we went with a stunning and local Monterey Cypress. So pleased with our choice!

Global Wood Source in the South Bay has the coolest woods I've ever seen. They go all over the world for some great stuff. Check them out!

Do you offer planing service? I have a walnut slab roughly 60" x 30" x1.5"?

They have a Helical Head Planer, a PerformaX 32" drum sander, and a flattening / edging machine too.

Curious, I have an Agarwood Bracelet from Vietnam that's been gifted to me, in the future when it needs polishing, are you a company that is able to assist with that? Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately no we do not offer any polishing services on site. We could offer some local shops in the area that would be able to assist you though! Feel free to call us anytime during business hours or send us an email!… Read more

This is probably the stupidest question you have ever heard. i took a burl from a rose bush nice and hard been carving it into a tobacco pipe. I need to know is it safe? or will it be toxic.?

Hi! Thank you for your inquiry, rose burl should be fine to use for carving your project out of. just be wary of anyone with an allergy to rosewater or the plant itself, everyone is unique and allergies vary widely, but for the most part you should… Read more

I did going expecting it would have a better selection of lumber at better prices than Home Depot. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They had a lot of wood suitable for construction but not for woodworking. They really had only one type of plywood with any kind of nice surface. Mostly have OSB, CDX, and only one type with a sanded finish. And that was almost $10 more per sheet than what I could get at Home Depot. No Birch or other quality plywood ether. I did purchase about 4 sheets just to check them and then went to Home Depot and got the remaining 11 sheets I needed. It was less expensive and there was significantly more choice for plywood other than OSB, CDS, etc.

I had found some luck but the places were all on the East Coast. Needless to say the shipping costs (almost 3X the cost of the material) made it a non starter. But as luck would have it I was able to find Korbet right in my own backyard. First off the customer service experience was excellent. Prompt call back after I submitted for a quote from their website. John was friendly and even offered a few suggestions since I am not a professional and I'm doing this myself. Got the quote witin minutes, came down and they had all of my stuff ready to go. loaded it up and the ten foot downspouts were pushing it but my MDX was just barely able to load them internally. Best of all no horrendous shipping charges. They have more copper than you can shake a stick at from gutters, to downspouts and all manner of stuff in between. Like a 500 foot roll of sheet copper. They also seem to have a full line of zinc realted products as well. If you are in the need for copper or other metals I would give KM a try.

The price was great considering 3 of my 4 windows were custom sizes (two of them 52"x52", another 34"x48", and 1 'standard' size). They delivered all 4 skylights to my house and offered to take away the old ones. I had not removed them at that point. The aluminum frames are very strong. I had a tree fall on my house only a few months after installing the skylights. one of them took the fall and held up very well. the rest of the roof and framework caved before the skylight did. JC Barry build a replacement for me about a week after the tree fell and the roof repair. When they delivered the new window they took away the old plastic domes I had stored. They recycle them for new materials, or keep them around in case a future customer needs a replacement. I was happy to get rid of them without having to pay! I highly recommend JC barry. Great staff, knowledgable and friendly. not much for a show room but when it comes down to it, they manufacture a superior product compared to skylights made by VELUX. VELUX uses plastic snap in pieces to hold the joints together that support the window pane. JC Barry units have seam welded aluminum.
