I have driven past this shop hundreds of times, as I live locally. Now that I have a fixer upper, it's time to tile. I stopped in this shop during the week between Christmas and New Years. It's an odd set up when you walk in. There is a big wall where office staff of some sort are seated, them two showrooms off to the left and right of the ivory office tower. The displays are beautiful and plentiful, but I am not sure anyone works on the sales floor. No one said hello at any point to me nor the other two couples I saw wondering the store for the twenty minutes I was there. The two plus women sitting at desks, clearly arent sales because they never left their seats to help anyone. Okay so who works here? No idea. An additional couple was talking with a put-together confident women, but she seemed so focused on them and what they needed, either she was their personal designer or the ONLY sales employee and not a multi tasker. Do I want to wait in line for tile advice 4 customers deep for someone who may simply be a hired designer working with clients? Nope! I would love this store, with some employees and customer service. Without it, I will be looking elsewhere for my tile. read more

The store is not as big as some other places we went to, but they have a good selection and the service from Angelique was really a bright spot during our over 2 year remodel saga. Angelique is very friendly and patient and she had amazing response time to emails. She responded to email late in the evenings when the shop was closed, and she responded even when she was off on vacation. Initially I thought I was going to be able to give this local business a 5 star rating, but I find that my experience went downhill from my order placement. I appreciated Angelique and Juliet for guiding me to my tile selections for my bathroom remodel. Then came issues... When you ask about a contractor's discount, everyone's response is like you are the poor relative asking for a handout. Even with face masks on, the body language is clear. They will honor it after they talk to your contractor. I'm not wealthy enough to turn it down. Should have stopped here, but I wanted to give a local business a chance. If you don't go in with your paper "invoice", you have to start all over. No one really gave me any individualized service from order to pick up. Dealt with at least 5 people, both in person and on the phone. One person will transfer to another on the phone. No one cares if I don't get my tiles in a timely manner. My fault that I did not order enough of one specific tile. I was not aware that the size of tiles I picked came smaller than 12x24. Needed 1 more box at the last minute. They will NOT make every effort to get the tiles from Southern California. Promised my contractor (when he went in to order more) a date that no one honored. When I called on the date promised, a man blew me off-- my problem, not theirs. We were delayed 3 days. This is NOT a business I could depend on. The niche they carry is Not Schluter brand. I paid for one without knowing the brand. Appreciated that I was able to get a refund (only after I personally went to the store and clarified that my contractor did not pick up items he could not use). I ended running around town to find the size I wanted. If I was told in advance, I would have just ordered one online. My contractor was not happy with quality of the tiles. Some of the tiles were not evenly flat. Many pieces have slight curvature. Appeared like discounted tiles. This experience taught me that this business was not transparent nor accommodating to someone with a small project. I don't usually like to write a negative review but since I spent over $1K on tiles, I wanted to share my Not So Fantastic experience. read more

In general we had an average experience here. Typical of so many home improvement places if you know exactly what you want you order it, they get it to you in timely fashion and taking back leftovers can be a loosing proposition. In our case we worked through a good contractor and all was coordinated well as to timing and pickups. We needed some guidance as to size, color and materials and pretty much got the vibe that they were used to working with professionals and didn't have a lot of patience for us. So be it, we figured it out mostly by ourselves and moved forwarded as described in the first paragraph and all worked out. read more

We worked with Caroline in choosing the materials for our two bathrooms during our house remodel. She was very responsive, knowledgeable, and listened to what we wanted in the final outcome. Tile Fantastic had plenty of options for us to choose from at competitive prices. It was nice to live close enough so that our contractor didn't have to take too much time away from work to pick up more materials. They ended up going back a couple of times. It's not always easy to return leftovers due to either restocking fees or shipping costs, so don't get more thinking you can return the unused items. We would recommend Tile Fantastic and Caroline. This place has horrible customer service. I bought three tiles and they are very close to my house. The tiler went to install and pieces has cracks in them. Instead of offering us even a small discount or replacement option or any other solution (like most other vendors have done for us when items have been shipped late or cracked just for pure customer service sake), they refused to do so and said we signed paperwork when we picked it up.  It was just a small order so they could have done a way better job in handling this issue. I now have to start over and find a whole new tile somewhere else in a hurry before a house inspection. read more

Definitely the best tile showroom in the south bay! Very up-to-date with trends in fashion & design (but not pretentious). Beautifully laid out, bright, clean and neat, so that you can find and see everything easily. They have everything from basic, inexpensive subway tile all the way up to custom hand made tiles in so many shapes, colors and sizes. I did a little comparison shopping too (I ain't rich) and, even though they look high-end, their prices aren't. We ended up getting all of our master bathroom tile here as well as our kitchen slab and backsplash. Tom walked us through the process over the course of two appointments, explained everything in detail (even the technical stuff) and helped us come up with a design that we were happy with. At first, it felt a little weird walking into the space. I didn't really expect to be greeted by someone at the door, but it did take a bit to get started. I talked to two different people, each provided solid guidance, though if you can talk to Rene, he was very helpful. We got a quote for the project via email, and they recommended a couple of questions to ask, so we ordered the right thing. They took the contractor number we provided, and provided us pricing accordingly. They anticipated the full order to take up to 3 weeks, but we had tile in hand in a week and a half. A couple pieces came in chipped, they noted which ones and provided additional tiles to cover for the chips that occurred during shipping. I'll be back. read more

Fantastically bad attitude: I stopped by on a recommendation from a neighbor who mentioned their big selection (they do have a big selection). I've been to many tile and bath stores over the years, so I know not to expect immediate attention after walking in. But after 30 mins of walking around the store, suddenly all the lights got turned off and then immediately the vacuuming began. Huh? I then noticed that all the sales staff including the manager now began to make eye contact with me but not say anything about closing up or asking if I had questions. Hello? I have worked in a service industry and I know what it's like after a long hectic day when closing time comes around - However after this initial impression of how they handled closing of the store, I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere. I am building a house in Campbell from scratch and have been working with many tile stores around the Bay Area to source the products I need to complete the job. 3600 sqft house. I am purchasing on behalf of my General Contractor as the finishes are all according to my spec. I came into this store to attempt to find product and had a very bad experience with regards to the following: 1. Terrible customer service: After waking into the store it took more than 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were in the store or even offer any type of assistance. 2. Unwillingness to provide contractor discount pricing: Unlike every other tile store we deal with, these guys absolutely refused to tell me what their discount would be for general contractors without speaking to my general contractor himself. Not only did they refuse, but they were incredible rude about how they approached this. My General contractor obviously is not able to visit every tile store with me and it's very impractical for them to treat me this way. There are polite and friendly ways to approach this, but I felt like they treated me and my wife very badly. Every other store we deal with including Home Depot, Lowes and other more boutique tile stores on brokaw street, are prepared to give me the contractor discount given that I am working with a Licensed General Contractor. 3. No customer first mentality In my business the customer gets treated with the utmost respect. I left this store feeling disrespected as a paying customer and for this reason out of principal I will never buy from this store or recommend them to any other person or contractor. As a customer who is spending more than $10,000 dollars on tiles - I want to feel respected and appreciated by the people I do business with. 4. Not a very good selection of tiles Although we did find one tile we were interested in, we found their general selection of tiles to be disappointing 5. Over priced We found their general prices to be much higher than other stores and given their lack of variety, there is not reason to shop there. Lastly - it appears that they were not happy with my first review and contacted Yelp to have it removed. This is a clear indication of a company that doesn't value customer relationship and behaving in a way that honors their customers - and perhaps making an effort to correct their very bad customer appreciation and service... Instead they try to cover up a bad review by having it removed. I will never work with or recommend this company to anyone. For those who are looking for a tile store in the same street as this company - there is a great tile store on the same side of the Bascom Across the road. This is one of those places that really makes me wish I could give zero stars. I had a horrible experience here. The first two mosaics I picked were both on back order (which I didn't find out until after I'd left the store, both times)... Then I felt like I was rushed into a third option I wasn't in love with, because the salespeople were pushy and clearly tired of seeing me. When my order arrived, I found that the porcelain tiles didn't look at all like the displays - they actually looked dirty, for lack of a better word. The owner charged me a 30% restocking fee to take them back, because the tiles were made to look like travertine, and according to him, I "should have known that travertine tiles look like that"... Even though the display for the exact same tile looked nothing like it. I still have nearly a thousand dollars' worth of mosaic tile that doesn't work for me. The owner offered to take it back, less a 60% restocking fee, provided I would settle for store credit... No thanks, asshole. No way in hell would I ever buy from you again. read more

I remodeled my kitchen several months ago and was recommended to go to Tile Fantastic for my backsplash. What a mistake! Here is the short of it. Ordered $1700 worth of stone for my backsplash and they said it would be here in 2 weeks, then called me back in 2 hours and said a month. I was a bit upset but said ok. My project was on hold till the backsplash went in...Then a month later I called to check in and they said half of it was in and the other half is on BO. Then 2 weeks later I called and they said the color of the two batches does not match and they have to re-order one of them...By this time I had waited almost 2 months. I was so upset, and asked for a full refund. Thankfully they gave me my money back and I ended up going to Bedrosians....they were the best, and it cost me $580 and I love it more than the $1700 ones..... I guess it all worked out, but what a hassle and to put a hold on your big kitchen remodel was a nightmare. read more

If your looking to browse tile, and want the Home Depot experience. This is the store, they hang tile on the wall like art and you can flip some samples. While the store looks trendy, remember you came into view tile not buy the store. If you really want to see how it would look on the floor with two or three pieces, to get a real feel for the color or veining, you can't do that. The tile is arranged in no particular order, so if you came in to view Porcelain, they have it scattered about the store, mixed with Travertine, etc If you want help and expect someone to walk up to you and ask if you need help finding something, you will not get that. If you wait near the front desk for 5minutes, that did not help either. I do not recommend this store and will not return. We went in to view Porcelain tile for kitchen floor, but just walked out after 10 minutes, this store prides itself on ZERO Customer Service and NO Greeting. Goto Bullnose Tile where you will find a night and day difference and great service, great tile, free samples, put all the tile you want on the floor and great prices. read more

We came to know about them from a friend and were specially told to get design help from Meg. Meg was fantastic. We went in with just a basic idea of what we wanted and over a period of 3 meetings over 3 different days for 2 hrs each we knew what we wanted. She is very patient and never imposes her ideas on you, rather just builds up on your ideas. That is the biggest plus point, which I did not find at any other place with any other designer. She specially helped us with a custom tile that looks amazing in our master bath. All the tiles were delivered on time, and Meg was very pro active in answering all questions related to the delivery, specially for the custom tile. I always find something here when I come up blank at other places. I have done 3 bathrooms and a good-size kitchen. They have choices in most price ranges, and some nice displays. They are generous with samples. THERE ARE NO TILE PLACES that give good service all of the time. I have been to several where I was the only customer inside and no one helped me. I make it a point to go to Tile Fantastic first thing in the morning to get personal service, and that works best. Don't wait til Saturday afternoon at 2 pm and then complain about service! Prior to heading to Tile Fantastic we checked out a few other Tile stores around San Jose. However, we came across Tile Fantastic as it is just down the street from our house. We were met by Meg who was working behind the desk and we were impressed with her ideas, the large selection provided by Tile Fantastic and decided to set up a more in-depth meeting at a later date. Ultimately we met with Meg multiple times, because of a significant others picky taste, but each time we met with Meg she was so helpful, excited, honest and reasonable. We provided her with a budget and we were able to stay within it. It was nice that she did not try to over sell us and was respectful of what we wanted to spend. Her sketches were incredibly helpful and allowed us to visualize the room much better. This week the tile was installed into our house and what an incredible job she did helping us pick the tile and grout! We couldn't be happier with the help we received from Meg! I would estimate that she spent 8-10 hours with us making decisions and helping us through the process. We never felt rushed or forced to make a decision. Everyone has always been helpful, but it helps to go during quieter times in the morning. Good selection, lots of tile on display in pull out racks and on small bathroom displays. I never learned the price range of anything though because we were never helped, but then again we were just looking to get ideas so that's fine I suppose. They have everything ranging from glass to mosaic and stone with different designs so you can be building a mission style building and get the tiles from here or a very modern home. There's so much to choose from so if we come back we'll definitely have to get one of the staff to walk us through our options for bathroom and kitchen. Parking is not an issue. I like that they are open weekends as I don't understand home improvement places closed on weekends when it's working people who generally have the means to buy things to improve their homes. read more

Nice Selection of tile in a nice setting. However, they need to have many more workers on Saturday. On any Saturday, there must be 40-50 customers and a handful of workers. Many of the customers seem to "want to remodel the bathroom" and the workers should say, go and look around and when you are ready to order, find one of us. When there are so many customers they shouldn't be offering design services. I was ready to make an order and had the selections, but it seemed there were 4 workers and 40-50 customers and went to the tile places on East Brokow. I wanted to shop in the neighborhood, but went to East Brokow, reselected and ordered in 45 minutes. I've been to Tile Fantastic many times over the years, but they need to get many more workers on the weekend. Its been the same situation there for 15 years. read more
