Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! This is my experience. Getting your rental It took 1 hour and 20 min to check my truck out even though there was only two couples ahead of me. There is only one person who works the front desk and she does it very very very slowly. I rented a truck for ONE MONTH in May to do a Canada USA move. I rented it over a month ahead of time to ensure I was not caught short in the busy May June July rental season. They said it costs 5.00 extra per day for any days in the USA for extra insurance. Untrained Staff I went once to the USA and advised the number of days and received a 5.00 charge per day as agreed. On the second trip as I was about to cross the border, I called to get them to charge the extra days but they said " we do not insure for any USA travel with our trucks"! I had just paid 600 dollars in gas to load the truck and another few hundred to drive it 6 hrs to Windsor Ontario. Faulty Maintenance I then said your oil change light keeps coming on. She said you need to bring it back so we can service it! They expected me to drive it 6 hrs back to Montreal so they could do the oil change. She said the person who rented it to me with the 5.00 per day was not trained so it was not their problem or fault. I also suggested that their maintenance manager was also not trained as oil changes are based on mileage which is the most predictable and easy to schedule ... Implications of renting from this company I was forced to complete my run into the USA uninsured due to their error. I also now was forced to bring the truck back on the 17th of May despite having paid the full month. It was useless to me if I could not drive it insured to the USA which is what I reserved and paid for. Now 2 weeks before June 1st the two biggest moving months of the year and I had no truck and no where to store all my things... Trying to rent a truck in June or July for a move is impossible as they have all been rented months before just like mine which was rented back in April. It is now two months later... Shocking disregard for customer service or even bothering to answer any calls or emails. When I called initially I was told she was not allowed to put any calls through to the manager. I would have to leave a message and they would call back. After more than a dozen messages I have never received a callback. Manager Marco renegs on his promise to fix the problem I went into the office and I was assured by Marco, who I was told was a manager, that he would make it right as it was clearly his staff's mistakes that had landed me in this position. Despite his assurances he never wrote or called back to clarify what he would do or how he would make this right nor did he ever reply to my many calls. They have this trick where they transfer your call if you insist to speak to the manager and then it goes to a voicemail which every time I have called the past two months has been full. Nice way to avoid having to deal with your clients! I never received a copy of the final bill. I called twice to receive it and again just now two months later I have requested it again.. I got the person to check the amount while I waited on the phone and I am told they charged $1600.00 EXTRA to the FULL MONTHLY RENTAL fee which I had to give back half way through the month. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! She promised to send me the bill. I will believe it when I see it. Shocking how such a business can still be in operation with a complete disregard for basic ethics or business practices. read more

Picked up a cargo van for a couple of days and the staff member who helped me was very helpful and got me on my way quickly. I really enjoyed the van and drop off time too was fast. I owed a little extra for going over km's and they emailed a bill so I could get home faster. There was a mixup on the prepaid fuel and they worked with me to resolve it. I've rented a few times here and the price is right and so far no issues. read more

I have been dealing with Globe Car and Truck rental at their Villerat location on a continuous basis for over a year now and have been truly satisfied with the excellent service I consistently receive. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable with any concerns or questions I may have. There are other big players out there, but for value, dollar for dollar, they are hard to beat. I was hesitant from booking at Globe as I've noticed that there are some negative comments, but I'm glad I did. Great local Montreal car rental company and they allowed me to pick up the moving van from one location and drop it off at another. I was given an upgrade to larger extended transit van. It wasn't the cleanest being a moving van but it was alright. Return was easy. I will use Globe agency again - half price hehe. read more

I wanted to splurge and get a BMW from this location for a weekend trip. The prices are pretty good at $40/day for a premium car. They do force you to get coverage if you're not fully insured on your main car. The other downside is you only get 25km/day. I have a location near my home, but this location is the only one with the car I wanted. The service is pretty good, they offer you coffee as you get in. Only downside is I drove my car, they don't have a dedicated lot to leave it, so I had to park it 30 minutes away. I found out that they can arrange any car at any location, so will keep that in mind next time. read more

Don't go there. Received my truck (and before I could talk to someone) about an hour late when there was only two persons in front of me. That's not covid fault but only poor services. One person was taking new reservation on the phone while leaving people with current reservations in the void of what's going on. Even the boss was talking without stress with his assistant about sales. Unbelievable. My only star goes to the good truck we received. In bonuses, at the end of the day, they charge you 5 times the prices for things you haven't done to the truck. read more

I haven't received service as good as you guys in a very long time. It doesn't get a better than this...A1, good job! My friends and I had booked a 7-seat car two days in advance. Then, the morning we were supposed to come pick up the vehicle, we got a call two hours before the arranged time to tell us that they couldn't lend us the planned car, because it was not coming back, thus wouldn't be available. They offered a 5-seat car instead which was not okay for us since we were 6 people traveling.Instead of themselves offering to find a 7-seat car at another renting company (especially 2h before our departure time), they just told us they were sorry and WE should try to contact other companies to find a car that would work for us. Now, I understand there can be some unexpected events, like a car accident, but Globe Location had no "plan B" to manage this "crisis" or "extremely unlucky event" (1 on 10 000 they said, but I don't believe that). The way they treated us, clients, was clearly unfair when we know we have to pay the full day cost if we are to cancel less than 48 hours in advance, but if they cancel on us, they have no back-up procedure, or compensation plan. We finally took the 5-seat car, and had two people do extra transport - we were lucky not to go so far away, but what if it had been our plans? We had book our night somewhere so we compromised between us on another plan, although we lost time, energy, had additional costs, and some really negative feelings caused from this experience (disappointment, frustration, confusion,...). Wouldn't recommend Glode Location, as even though I called back during the weekday (When there's supposed to be supervisors who have more flexibility to answer me on this particular situation), they told me they would think about it and call back with something satisfying. They never called - 10 days later, even when I called back and left a message. As well, I stayed really polite, rational and clear in my explanations and discussions with them. I have worked often in customer service and study in management, so I know what what I'm talking about. I hope this experience let you know what Globe Location really is. It's not a good service that will tell you about the quality of an enterprise's customer service; it's when things go bad, and it's the way the company handles these moments that are critical. Globe Location didn't know how to unfortunately, and preferred to ignore the case, ignoring possibly valuable customers. read more

I had contact with three different sales people whom were all very professional and helpful, although there were a few inconsistencies with my contract, they responded with a positive customer service attitude. Cars are clean and well maintained. Nice selection to choose from. I have used them several times and will certainly use them in the future and would recommend Globe Car Rental to anyone looking to rent a car. read more

We rented a Hyundai Elantra from Globe for a 9-day family vacation very recently. Globe was the least expensive of the rental companies I checked. We were pleased with their service and practical problem solving. They are a small company. The one employee waiting for us at our late arrival could not also pick us up from the airport (their location is 15+ minutes from the airport), so she directed us to take a cab. Globe subtracted the full cost of the cab from our rental contract. Unfortunately, the car had an electrical problem, and we could not plug in our GPS. However, when I called the next morning, Globe sent a repairman to our B&B, and made the repair (just a fuse). Anything can happen with a car, but I liked that Globe was customer centric and took care of problems without fuss or delay. My only qualification is that they are unusually picky about tiny nicks. We didn't have any, but they recorded 20+ barely perceptible nicks when we checked out the car, and then very carefully examined the car for a long time on check in. Still, the company lived up to its end of the agreement, so I recommend them. read more
