When I asked Marc if it had a GPS, he told me only luxury cars had GPS. He didn't think he had any but when I told him I was driving to Cowansville about an hour away he kindly offered to check and see if there was a car available. And there was. Marc was very kind and patient and really bent over backward to get me a car with a GPS so I wouldn't get lost. He went over the basics of the car and I was on my way in no time. On my return the car was checked over quickly and I was on my way. I would highly recommend Alamo Montreal to anyone looking for a rental while in Montreal and specifically ask for Marc. Getting your rental It took 1 hour and 20 min to check my truck out even though there was only two couples ahead of me. There is only one person who works the front desk and she does it very very very slowly. I rented a truck for ONE MONTH in May to do a Canada USA move. I rented it over a month ahead of time to ensure I was not caught short in the busy May June July rental season. They said it costs 5.00 extra per day for any days in the USA for extra insurance. Untrained Staff I went once to the USA and advised the number of days and received a 5.00 charge per day as agreed. On the second trip as I was about to cross the border, I called to get them to charge the extra days but they said " we do not insure for any USA travel with our trucks"! I had just paid 600 dollars in gas to load the truck and another few hundred to drive it 6 hrs to Windsor Ontario. Faulty Maintenance I then said your oil change light keeps coming on. She said you need to bring it back so we can service it! They expected me to drive it 6 hrs back to Montreal so they could do the oil change. She said the person who rented it to me with the 5.00 per day was not trained so it was not their problem or fault. I also suggested that their maintenance manager was also not trained as oil changes are based on mileage which is the most predictable and easy to schedule ... Implications of renting from this company I was forced to complete my run into the USA uninsured due to their error. I also now was forced to bring the truck back on the 17th of May despite having paid the full month. It was useless to me if I could not drive it insured to the USA which is what I reserved and paid for. Now 2 weeks before June 1st the two biggest moving months of the year and I had no truck and no where to store all my things... Trying to rent a truck in June or July for a move is impossible as they have all been rented months before just like mine which was rented back in April. It is now two months later... Shocking disregard for customer service or even bothering to answer any calls or emails. When I called initially I was told she was not allowed to put any calls through to the manager. I would have to leave a message and they would call back. After more than a dozen messages I have never received a callback. Manager Marco renegs on his promise to fix the problem I went into the office and I was assured by Marco, who I was told was a manager, that he would make it right as it was clearly his staff's mistakes that had landed me in this position. Despite his assurances he never wrote or called back to clarify what he would do or how he would make this right nor did he ever reply to my many calls. They have this trick where they transfer your call if you insist to speak to the manager and then it goes to a voicemail which every time I have called the past two months has been full. Nice way to avoid having to deal with your clients! I never received a copy of the final bill. I called twice to receive it and again just now two months later I have requested it again.. I got the person to check the amount while I waited on the phone and I am told they charged $1600.00 EXTRA to the FULL MONTHLY RENTAL fee which I had to give back half way through the month. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! She promised to send me the bill. I will believe it when I see it. Shocking how such a business can still be in operation with a complete disregard for basic ethics or business practices.

I owed a little extra for going over km's and they emailed a bill so I could get home faster. There was a mixup on the prepaid fuel and they worked with me to resolve it. I've rented a few times here and the price is right and so far no issues.

Priceline had this at 4 stars. Reviews on Priceline said the wait was usually 15 minutes or less…read more This was favorable compared to the other companies that were 2 and 3 star for wait time. There were 3 agents working for both avis and budget customers. The line had at least 25 customers deep the whole time I was there. Over an hour to get to agent only to find that the cars were not cleaned yet and would take another 30 minutes. Horrible way to start your trip. Enterprise, Alamo and thrifty line were much shorter. This is as much a review on the accuracy of priceline as well.

Last time (2016) I was in Montreal, I did a lot of research about renting a car. It was my first…read moretime doing so in Canada, so I had to really dig under the hood (pun intended) to make sure I had all the right documents and I knew the rules. I shopped around, and ended up at this Enterprise location. On this trip (2018) I had a strong inclination to just come back to this same location because the first time had been so smooth. I did, however, want to find something a little closer to downtown because this location is so far out of the way. Where my '16 trip was more flexible car-wise (I ended up with a minivan) I definitely needed a pickup truck for a camping trip. That same pickup truck was $400 more expensive at all Enterprise locations in town. That pricing blows my mind. It was $250 for a week up here in Saint Leonard, but $650 near downtown. It was an obvious choice--I reserved the truck here. While we're talking about price, I also thought it was funny that I had originally looked into getting the truck for a full week and it was $250. I decided to pick it up after staying downtown for a few days, rather than try to park it before I actually needed it for a camping trip. So I shaved off two days from the reservation. The new price was $245. I don't understand rental car pricing. At all. So, yes, the location is far away and I spent a few extra bucks taking a car service up here. But the fellas have always been so accommodating of me. There aren't too many tourists up this far, so they made it easy (I just bring my driver's license, no sweat) and it's a really swift process to get in and out of there. The cars have both been nice. The truck, a new F-150, only had about 50km on it when I drove it as the first rental. Sweet! Shop around. If you can save big bucks by coming up here, it's totally worth it, and you'll hopefully get the same professional treatment that I've had twice now.
