Absolutely terrible experience. Nearly got scammed $2k+. I went for an oil change and tire rotation at Jiffy Lube, where I was informed I had a lug nut that seized, so they couldn't rotate my tires. They recommended that I go to Globe Tire, as it was right down the street. So I went to Globe Tire, explained the situation, and was told they could check it out but it wouldn't be done until Monday (this was on a Saturday). I said okay, all good. On Monday, I get a call from Globe Tires informing me that I need to replace every lug nut on my car, the front passenger wheel hub, the rear break pads + drum + shoes, etc etc. Total quote? $2,200!! I asked for an invoice, which I've attached to this review. One of the random line items is a "Luxury Wheel Alignment" ... I have a 2009 Honda Fit! I was shocked at the price and the amount of things that supposedly needed to be replaced (EVERY single lug nut? The drum?) So, my husband went to Global Tires and asked for the car because he was going to take it to another tire shop. They informed him the car was not drivable and that he'd need a tow truck to move it?!? My car had been completely fine before bringing it in! My husband insisted that he take the car and the guy he talked to said okay it *might* be ok to drive as long as he drove 15mph or less. So my husband drove the car 15 mph to the other tire shop and said it sounded like the front passenger wheel was going to fall off the entire time - which was NOT happening before it was brought to Globe Tires. He showed the invoice to the other tire shop and they checked out everything listed and guess what! They said none of it needed replacing. There was one broken lug nut on the front tire, which they broke off and replaced for free. They said it was obvious the front passenger wheel had been loosened, so after they tightened it up, all was good. Now my car is totally fine. What a joke. I think they were banking on me blindly accepting all the charges they threw at me. Beyond frustrating and unethical. Avoid this place (especially if you're a woman, unfortunately) because they'll try to take advantage of you.

He thoroughly explains the work to be done, any options and tries to find economical solutions. He's caring, professional and provides great customer service. Repairs When the mechanics repair something, it's fixed. I have never had to return. They are very skillful. They fixed a tricky problem with a headlight at a fraction of the cost others quoted. Honest Herbert is honest. He doesn't do unnecessary repairs. For example, Once I had a rattle whenever I started the car. He found a rock in the exhaust pipe and removed it. Body work I recently took my car in for some body work, The cost of the repairs was less than I expected. The car came back looking like new and the paint matched perfectly. Beautiful! I had taken it to…read moremultiple mechanics AND the dealer, and no one could tell me exactly what my issue was and just be straight with me. I had an emissions system issue that gave me the code 'P0139'. The first mechanic I took it to last year told me that it was a simple o2 sensor issue (rightfully so considering the code I was getting), yet when he replaced the sensor, the light continually came on. So he replaced it again, and replaced another o2 sensor on the vehicle (according to him). When none of that worked, he told me that my catalytic converter was faulty, and that I was going to have to pay roughly 8k for a new one. Safe to say I didn't believe him, nor did I stick around and simply take his word for it. I started making calls and, at first, genuinely believed that I was going to have to come up with the 8k by summer 2026 (when my smog inspection was due). I thought at one point I was sold a faulty vehicle too and even tried to receive compensation for the error. Turns out that wasn't the case, and even if it was, there wasn't much I could about it anymore. I took it to others who quoted me ridiculous prices for a simple diagnostic, I took it to others that just simply couldn't tell me what was wrong, and then to make things more confusing, the light would go on and off and would even go off long enough for me to pass smog!!! (Even though the first guy I went to said my catalytic converter was bad). Then, I looked online and found Master Tech. Great reviews, great location in the South Bay (Torrance), and fair pricing. Diagnostic was about 160, which would go toward repairs if needed, and if they couldn't find the issue I'd pay zero dollars! When I first got there, already Herbert pointed out things no mechanic pointed out before. I was told and under the impression that all my sensors were new and changed... they weren't. He also informed me that my vehicle was an American built one (not Japanese or Canadian, which I heard can make all the difference in quality). That's information that, although wasn't a huge concern, let me know that this guy paid attention to detail and really cared about what he was doing. He then told me to leave it with him later on in the week so he could give the vehicle TLC (tender love and care), and to be comfortable with not having my vehicle for a couple days (wasn't a problem at all). Eventually he gets back to me after a day and lets me know that the sensor had to be changed out with an oem one, as the previous mechanic put in an aftermarket one. On the day that I picked the car up and paid for the install, we both hopped in and took it for a ride, and the engine was running smooth like butter now. No more rich running (causing my gas to burn faster), and no more harsh shifting. He then hands me over the old sensor and informs me that I should go get my money back from the other mechanic. It turns out, the other guy was trying to screw me over (surprise, surprise!), whereas Herbert was honest and righteous. The piece the other mechanic put in was a Bosch sensor, made specifically for German made vehicles. Smh. It was for VOLKSWAGENS and the like ONLY. He was just trying to get me to pay him thousands, and perhaps allow me to further damage my engine and transmission from the issues he was forcing my vehicle to go thru for the time that it wasn't working properly due to a lazy, incompatible o2 sensor. I was relieved that I found Herbert who was able to help me and install the correct piece for a fair price (443 roughly, as opposed to the almost 700 dollars the dealer would've tried to charge me). I like his style, and he is definitely a righteous mechanic. Thank you bro!

NOT A SAFE SHOP I…read moreplaced an order to replace a tire and to do a tire rotation. Pittstop replaced the tire within 30 minutes of me dropping off my car but forgot that I had requested a tire rotation. Upon reminding them that I ordered a tire rotation, they completed that within an hour. As part of their tire rotation service, they filled the air of each tire. Within 30 minutes of driving away, my car detected that the psi (air pressure) for one of my tires was low and decreasing incrementally. I parked my car to attend an event for an hour and assumed that the psi reading was just a system error that would reset once I restarted my car. Upon restarting my car, the psi was lower and at a dangerous level (my car screen had a warning message advising me to park my car). I called Pittstop letting them know about this problem, that I could hear air leaking from one of the tires, and that I'm on my way back to the shop. In the 15-mile ride back to Pittstop, I had to stop at 2 gas stations to fill air in the tire for fear that it would fully deflate as I was driving the road. It was extremely dangerous and unnecessarily stressful. Upon arriving, they inspected the tire and realized that the pin for the tire was broken. I asked one of their mechanics how it was broken and they just said, "it just happens.... who knows?" They didn't accept any responsibility for failing to hear that air was leaking from that tire (which was obvious as soon as you removed the plastic cap) or checking whether the pin was broken or not. These are simple post-repair diagnostics a mechanic should do to protect the safety of their customers. I am extremely disappointed in my experience here -- particularly given how dangerous the situation could have been if I did not have a car that had technology to warn me when air pressure is dangerously low.
