I've been a loyal Firestone customer for years and have visited several different locations, but this was my first visit to this store--and it exceeded every expectation. Bryce, the Service Manager, was outstanding. He was professional, honest, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful from start to finish. Even though the store was clearly very busy, he made me feel like my vehicle was a priority and got me in and out much faster than I expected. It's easy to see why this location is always so busy--it's exceptionally well run. What really stood out was the culture. Everyone seemed to genuinely care about the customers, and the experience felt more like having family take care of your car than visiting an auto repair shop. That kind of customer service is rare these days. Bryce and the entire team have earned my business going forward. I'll be switching to this location for all of my future service needs, even though there are other Firestone stores closer to me. Keep up the outstanding work. I purchased a brand-new Bronco less than a month ago and walked out this morning to find a screw in the front-left tire. I tried another local tire store, but they turned me away because they were too busy - so I rolled down to this Manhattan Beach Firestone to see if they could help (I have two kids and I can't be driving around on a bad tire). Bryce was SUPER helpful. Walked me out to my car and discovered the screw was gone! I was not convinced. He had me roll my car back and forth over and over and even chalk marked my tire to show that it was gone. He also checked to make sure there wasn't a slow leak. Just super nice guy that made my day. I have been going to this location for three years, but I've been going to Firestone for over a decade for my repair needs. For about two and a half of those years, I had very few issues and the staff was generally pleasant. Most of the problems have started within the last six months. Six months ago, I went in for an oil change and an alignment. This was a standard service. The first thing they did was try to upsell me on a new battery. I had replaced my battery one month prior. When I asked them to show me the battery readings, they refused. They also tried to upsell me on several fluids and a cabin filter replacement without showing me the condition of my current cabin filter. Before the service even began, I told them very clearly that I did not want to be sold anything and that I only wanted an oil change and an alignment. We went back and forth for five minutes before they finally gave me my keys back. Strike one. The next issue involved a TPMS sensor replacement. They quoted me $185 per sensor and told me over the phone that they would price match any competitor, guaranteeing they are the lowest price out there. I obtained a quote from Big Brand Tires for $103 per sensor. I called Firestone back and explained that I had a printed invoice showing the lower price. They refused to acknowledge that they had made this guarantee and told me the price was not negotiable. Strike two. Yesterday, I called to get a quote for an engine tune up. They put me on hold for twenty minutes. I called back and was told they were very busy, but that if I left my number they would call me back within half an hour that afternoon. I left my number and never received a call. Today, I called again for a quote. The person who answered said he needed to get the service manager and then put me on hold for nearly thirty minutes. Since I was already in El Segundo, I decided to drive to the shop while still on hold because this had become ridiculous. Two minutes before I arrived, the call dropped after sitting on hold for so long. When I walked into the shop, there was a single employee sitting behind the desk with no customers around him. He was not helping anyone and did not appear busy. I told him that I had been left on hold for nearly thirty minutes. He offered no apology and barely acknowledged the issue. He then spent ten minutes putting together an incomplete engine tune up quote that did not include all of the services I would likely need, clearly setting things up to upsell me later. To make matters worse, there was a sign posted in front of the computers that read, "The best experience begins on the phone." Based on my experience over two consecutive days, that statement is laughably ironic. Strike three. They are out. I am no longer willing to give Firestone any more of my money, and I have been their customer for over a decade. The only reason I may return is because I prepaid years ago for a lifetime alignment when I bought my car. If they attempt to upsell me during that visit, I will tell them to stop and give me my keys. If any other shop offers a comparable alignment program, I will never return to Firestone again. For the sake of encouraging better customer service, I strongly recommend that potential customers avoid Firestone, especially the Manhattan Beach location. Getting a car repaired is already an unpleasant experience, and this location seems determined to make it worse rather than better. 2/26 UPDATE JUST FOR KICKS: I was reached out to by the store manager, who offered really nothing more than apologies. No incentives. No reason for me to trust them as a service provider for my car. Although it was a friendly gesture, it didn't really remedy anything. So livid right now. Was thinking about my car's brakes this week, so when Firestone sent out an email re a free brake inspection, I made an appointment. Got there 10-15 minutes early, was told the process would take 60-90 minutes. Got breakfast, took a walk, and then 30+ minutes later, it's about the 90 minute mark; I look up, and my car has. not. moved. I ask how much more time is needed and am told that there's one car ahead of me. "In minutes, please?" Another 60-90 minutes. WTF?? Things take as much time as they take. If they'd said it'd take three hours, I'd have planned accordingly. One hopes too that having an appointment gives priority over a "drive in" customer. Apparently not. A professional business will keep the customer informed of massive delays like this, though. Does *anyone* have an entire Saturday to spend in a cramped, filthy* car repair lobby? Hector, the manager, is indifferent. "We had two people call out sick today." Fine. That happens. You still let the customer know that the process is taking more time than anticipated. You don't appropriate their time. You understand that you need them too. By this time Firestone has taken 2+ hours of my time, and I have absolutely nothing to show for it. Worse: they don't care at all. Retrieved my car and will get my brakes inspected (and my other auto needs addressed) elsewhere. * Seriously, this waiting area looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years. Ugh. read more

I came here after calling around a few places to see if they would fix an A/C compressor, since my normal mechanic mentioned he was unavailable to do the repairs. He did tell me to expect to pay around $500-$600 minimum which was doable. This was the 3rd Firestone I called that finally had the right equipment to diagnose the A/C issue. Dropped it off overnight and they were able to replace the compressor, but got charged 3x what I was expecting. Felt like I didn't have much of a choice since it was either here (at a chain center) or the dealer itself. But I've got to expect as much since you're paying for the weekend convenience of them being open. Didn't have much of an issue with the customer service though, the guys were all helpful and tried to take as much off as they could. read more

The waiting area was the typical size of one of these locations. Wasn't huge but it did have refreshments as you wait. Brought my car in to fix a flat on two tires that would not hold air. Spent 15 minutes the night before filling up the front tires but both rear tires would hiss when filling which I assumed meant a broken seal on the tire or a puncture (have had that experience in the past). Weird that it was both tires but things happen. Drop the car off, great service on drop-off, friendly, patient attendant (Alan) helped me out. I get a call a couple hours later while I'm at work. They tested both tires (water dunk), did visual inspection, and filled the tires. Couldn't find any issue. Recommended that the gas station air pump I used (that worked fine on both front tires) might have been faulty and that's a common issue. They suggested I get a portable compressor from an auto-part store in the future (which I will definitely do) rather than rely on those gas station pumps. I'm embarrassed and have no idea how I misused the gas station air pump on half my tires but I'm thrilled there's nothing wrong with the tires. Best part of this whole experience, the inspection, refill of the tires, everything was at no-charge (this time). They just did it as a courtesy for a customer they've never met before (though I have been to other Firestones). Sent me on my way with new tire valve covers, and pressure gauge for free. This is how you get repeat business. I have another vehicle with a check engine light I'll be bringing here soon. read more

Got my tires here 3 years ago. Came in with a flat tire today at 8:40 am. I was told I'll get out of here by 11:30am. They didn't get to my car until past 11am. They are unable to "fix" the tire. Service request repair a nail in my tire. No value add: after stopping by several different Firestone Service centers one thing is clear. Their seems to be neighborhood Service centers due to the wait time or unavailability of a tire repair service if needed in a emergency situation. All centers say the same thing we're backed up with scheduled appointments all day but you can leave your car in certain circumstances for Service tomorrow. That could mean all day. This particular Firestone station my not have been one I stopped at. With my experience early on many years ago the one on Manchester was always sensitive to all its customers even if it tool a better part of the day they would go above an beyond with customer satisfaction. I can't even find a Firestone to do the smallest of things in less than a day if it's and emergency saying our appointments are full and we don't know when we can get it done. read more

If I could give Firestone negative stars, I would. My 91-year-old grandmother went in because her check engine light was on. Instead of showing even a shred of decency, they charged her $36 for a "diagnostic fee"--when the only issue was her gas cap being loose. Yes, you read that right. Thirty-six dollars for someone to twist a cap back on. Imagine being a massive national auto chain and deciding the best way to make money is by nickel-and-diming elderly customers. No compassion, no integrity--just a shameless cash grab. The fact that they didn't even have the common decency to waive the fee after discovering such a simple fix tells you everything you need to know. Firestone, do better. This kind of predatory behavior is why people don't trust mechanics. Steer clear! This place is so shady. I marked my front tires just to make sure they rotated them. Sure enough, they did not. I pointed it out to the workers but they said it was rotated. My car was at this shop most of the day and pretty much all I got were the tires shined. They also recommend brake fluid (about $200) but the dealer didn't even push for it when I visited the week before. Prior to this visit, we kept getting flat tires on two of our cars. They kept telling us the nail was too deep and they can't repair it so we bought new tires multiple times. As soon as I bought the tire warranty, suddenly they can repair it... could've been coincidence but after this last visit, I'm certain they were being dishonest. read more

Someone here stole ~$45 ear protection ear pieces that were attached to my keys. Look out for a worker with two ear pieces that have an inner white ring and outside black ring. I went in for an oil change + some small other things in early March, and the next day I noticed my ear pieces had gone missing from the case still attached to my keys. You have to pry this case open with extreme precision to get them out, so the case opening on its own is nearly impossible. Closing the case also takes a good amount of force to make sure the lock on it snaps into place. It's taken me a month to finally write this review because I've been searching my apartment and car looking for them (to no avail) just to be sure. And my keys are always attached to me with a caribener clip so I'm never without them. I was waiting in the lobby for about 2 and a half hours with an appointment, plenty of time for something so small to get stolen. Is it my fault for leaving them on my keys? Probably, but at the end of the day I'm just extremely annoyed and wanted to share my experience here. read more

These guys are honest and care about doing right for their customer A different Firestone installed a plug that continued to leak, and while I got the runaround from Redondo Firestone and Buena Park, CJ and MB Firestone really listened to my issue and got me a replacement tire. I spent about 2 weeks getting toyed around with by the other locations, but within 24 hours after chatting with CJ, my new tire was on my car. Thank you for the good service. read more

However, despite promising a full inspection, they neglected to check my emissions, yet charged me nearly 800 dollars. How hard is it to include an emissions inspection with that price? Seems like the service quality is gone down at this particular location. I had multiple issues: they didn't fix all that they recommended at one appointment and didn't even call me to ask and automatically reported I denied services. Then second appointment I noticed that for the work I authorized they had someone else sign off on me and that's a huge legal issue. It's not even my signature. And once I was home I noticed all of my oil leaked after they forgot to close off the valve properly. After the 3rd time bringing the car in and doing a complete vehicle inspection and then passing it. My check engine light won't go away and my coolant light kept coming on. I kept asking them did they check my coolant and they said it's all good. Once home I decided to check myself and my whole tank was empty and the cap was shut super tight. It took me at least 20 min to unscrew it, so I am guessing the tech didn't even bother to open it because it would have been time consuming. That is so dangerous to give the car back to customer with empty coolant tank. I don't know who they have hired because I never had an issue in the past with this shop. I will never bring my car in here again because they can't be trusted with my car. I am hugely disappointed. read more

brought in to check on alternator and instead of even evaluating alternator just tried to sell me a new battery for over $400 - of course if alternator has gone bad or connections are corroded then battery will need to be replaced AFTER the alternator is fixed. Even AAA was able to determine on the road that the alternator was working intermittently. Either not knowledgable or intentionally trying to overcharge Manhattan Beach residents, either way not good. read more

Wowwwwwwwww! This is hands down the best customer service and most well run operational experience I think I've ever had in my decades of life! Came here with an Enterprise/National rental needing tires. They were on it! They're busy though and probably because of what I'm about to share! Bryce was my interface as my original guy went on lunch, but I'm sure he and all others are just as good. I'm not sure who's running this place, but kudos to management. Bryce is a force, if I could hire this guy to run my company I would. I'd be confident that no stone would be left unturned, he'd lead with integrity and great character, with charisma, he'd lead by a good example, he'd be kind and courteous, honest, efficient, problem solve without guidance and the list goes on. Mind you I got all of this in about 10-15 mins of interaction max. He's insanely good. I assume his personality is infectious to all in a good way. The gentlemen who put my tires on (Hispanic older male) was calm, cool, collected, courteous, and did a fine job. I observed three other workers, one white male maybe in his 30s, one Hispanic black or mixed female maybe in her 20s and a Hispanic black or mixed male maybe in his 20s and they were all super courteous, astute, happy and simply getting sh*t done! I WAS SCAMMED As a female that is 20 they tried to scam me out of thousands of dollars. I went in for an oil change, to have my tires rotated, and to have my break pads inspected and replaced. 3 hours later they called me to tell me that I needed all new tires. The man on the phone stated that I had not changed my tires since 2018. My car is a 2019 model. I had all 4 of my tires replaced two years prior at this exact Firestone location. This was unbelievable. Then I asked the man on the phone about my breaks. He proceeded to tell me that to just have new front break pads installed it would cost $968!!! This is outrageous and at MOST costs 300 at any other auto shop. When I stated that this was too much he all the sudden had a $50 dollar off coupon. Needless to say I said absolutely not, and had them done down the street for $200. When I went to pick up my car I asked first for a record of everything done on my car with cost breakdowns. Turns out I paid for an oil change and they never even rotated my tires like I had asked. I then asked the man for a cost breakdown of all services they offer in store to see how much breaks normally cost here. He was unable to provide this information. I then asked him the typical price for breaks and he said he has seen between 200 and up to 500 depending on the car. So they claimed a price 2 to 5 times higher! I explained this entire situation to the man who was unable to help or explain and did not apologize. He then printed a receipt of what they would have done if I agreed to this scam. The tires alone would have costed me a thousand dollars and were clearly in no need of being replaced as proven by another shop. The break pads mock up claimed in would cost 925 dollars, a different number than before, and when I added all of the values together together in individual parts, it only summed to 700 dollars. This man just made up a number and fudged a receipt, thinking I would not notice. He tried to charge $400 in service when my oil change service was $12. As a woman this makes me sad. PLEASE. DO. NOT. Awful experience. Made an appointment days ahead of time for a wheel alignment and an oil change. Dropped off my car at 11:55am, received a call to pick up at 5:30pm. Completely understandable, they were busy. EXCEPT THEY DIDN'T DO THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT. nearly 6 hours for just an oil change, and then they tried to claim the wheel alignment was never on the ticket. When we pointed out that is WAS and had ALWAYS been there, the manager claimed I didn't need an alignment because I just had new tires installed. That's not how alignments work...don't attempt to play a player. You should get a wheel alignment every year, minimum, regardless of the age of your tires, especially in pot-hole heaven aka Los Angeles! I couldn't believe he was grilling me about the necessity of the service instead of just admitting they didn't do it. Shameful. Terrible service on top of dishonesty. This place used to be great back when Bryce was the manager. Recently we took our Avalon in for a repair. They said it was the motor mounts to fix the vibration in the steering wheel. The vibration continued. Took it to another mechanic and he showed us that the mounts for the engine were never tightened, not one of them and they didn't use Toyota parts. I also took another car in for a few very small repairs. They said it would take about an hour so I sat there. After 3 hours, I finally got my car back. Before pulling out of the lot I noticed that one of the repairs wasn't done. Brought that to their attention and it was done. Not a great place to take your car right now. Its pretty hard to get me to support a mechanic in Los Angeles. I spent a couple of years living in Alabama where I got in with a number of guys who race cars. Those mechanics were something special. Now, I can finally say that I found a solid mechanic!! I am an alignment princess. I hate a car that drifts to one side. Get your alignment done by Arnold and your car runs straight as an arrow. You might as well pay up for lifetime coverage for all your repairs because they should be doing your work anyway. read more
