Black Elephant Café has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Atwater. The vibe is cozy,…read morecreative, and just the right amount of quirky. The matcha lavender latte is the star of the show. It's beautifully balanced: earthy matcha, a gentle floral note from the lavender, and just enough sweetness to tie everything together. It's the kind of drink you think about later in the day and wish you had another. And then there's the chocolate cake . The small ugly one that comes in a mini loaf, it was rich, moist, and deeply chocolatey without being overly heavy. It pairs perfectly with their drinks and feels like a little reward every time you order it.

And it happened again, popping in spontaneously and not getting disappointed. Wonderful coffee, and…read moredelicious pastries, allowing for a relaxed outdoor coffee break. PREVIOUS REVIEW2 It's been a while since I've been here the previous time. In addition to being very nice last time (except for the logistics of ordering and the non-functioning power outlets), the please remains a peaceful oasis and the ordering process has improved since. Most importantly, the coffee remains delicious, and the tomato basil tart was a wonderful quick lunch followed by a multi berry muffin. PREVIOUS REVIEW1 Cute little place in Atwater Village!! So cute with peaceful, relaxing and quiet atmosphere (inside/outside) that I thought I could get some work done (free WiFi). The concept is a bit confusing: There are a bunch of "menu items" such as sandwiches and wraps etc, but while they are listed on a big board behind the counter, you have to actually grab them premade/prepacked from a fridge ... The Vegan Smokey BBQ Wrap was very good except for the short and transient moment when I opened the container, but after all it was actually fresh, juicy and had a great flavor mix. The Mex Mocha with Almond milk (alternatives are available) was delicious, and I paired it with a GF Orange Chia Bread Loaf. PS: I'm neither Vegan nor GF fanatic... What really defied the purpose of coming here was the non-working power outlets, and the manager not taking care of it. My laptop unfortunately does not have a TESLA battery and hence I did not last for 2 hours... PS: I neither have a TESLA nor a Prius either ... Tip: Parking on this side of the street can be tough, look on the other side ...

Matcha quality is good but it was definitely overpowered by the mango. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here specifically.

We luckily found street parking up front, otherwise they have a small street nearby that you can probably park in as well. Only two people were ahead of us when we walked in but shortly after, the place filled up with the line almost out the door! There was only one worker but she made it work and she was fast! Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, cute cups though! Something about the drink I got was a little off putting. Idk if it was whatever spice they used but I was not crazy about it. I definitely want to come back and try the pistachio at some point though! Getting out of my parking spot was rough. Busy street but also some annoying guy parked in the red zone behind me, basically bumper to bumper and then another girl in front had A LOT of room in front of her and just didn't give me enough room. I luckily made it out but very annoying! Anyway, still looking forward to coming back to try their pistachio bliss! IG: @ammysalamii

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed teas. :) The shop itself is minimalist, although seating is limited since it's located inside the mall. It's conveniently situated near Target, making it an easy stop while shopping. Glendale Galleria also offers plenty of parking, which is always a plus. The staff were friendly and efficient, and our drinks came out surprisingly fast. If you're looking to switch things up from your usual boba spot, HEYTEA is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back to explore more of the menu.

A friend and I ordered several drinks online and we shopped around until our pick up time. The place was clean and smelled amazingly like tea. Yum! We found someone to assist us to give us our order. Similar to the Berkeley location, they also required seeing proof you are who you are (order confirmation, etc.) to pick up the order. A friend tried their jasmine pistachio drink and that was pretty good. I tried their not a margarita drink - really colorful and refreshing. Wanted to try something new, beyond what I'd normally get and was pleasantly surprised. Another friend tried one of their lattes / milk teas and thought it was alright. I do like Heytea for being a bit more tea forward and having great fruit tea drinks as well, and would stick with those drinks as well as their specials.

Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. Walking into a coffee shop should feel welcoming. Instead, most visits feel cold and uncomfortable. There is rarely a hello, welcome, smile, or thank you from the staff. The overall attitude often feels bothered or uninterested, almost like customers are an inconvenience rather than appreciated guests. The coffee itself is decent at times, inconsistent at others, but customer service is what keeps people coming back. I truly hope the owner and management take this feedback seriously and focus on creating a more welcoming environment. A simple greeting, smile, and positive attitude go a long way. There are many coffee shops people can choose from, and feeling appreciated matters just as much as the product itself. I wanted to support this business, but after many visits and the same experience over and over again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
