There was a long line when we were there but it moved fairly quickly. I wanted to try the triple matcha but they were out. Instead I tried the matcha cloud coconut blue and mango coconut boom. Second Heytea location I've tried, and glad to see that it seems rather consistent regardless of whether I'm in NorCal or SoCal. A friend and I ordered several drinks online and we shopped around until our pick up time. The place was clean and smelled amazingly like tea. Yum! We found someone to assist us to give us our order. Similar to the Berkeley location, they also required seeing proof you are who you are (order confirmation, etc.) to pick up the order. A friend tried their jasmine pistachio drink and that was pretty good. I tried their not a margarita drink - really colorful and refreshing. Wanted to try something new, beyond what I'd normally get and was pleasantly surprised. Another friend tried one of their lattes / milk teas and thought it was alright. This is one of my favorite brand from China for good milk tea or fruit tea. I was really excited to finally trying it out now that they opened at Glendale Galleria. I ordered king jasmine Guava and a brown sugar milk tea on my phone. When I went to the shop to pick up my order it was quite crowded inside. The moment I stepped inside the store there is a strong odor.... It feels like the ventilation was pretty bad .. it's pretty warm inside . The staff were clearly bothered by something. I don't like slushies or chunky drinks so I've had sips of their coconut mango and grape slushie before and didn't enjoy it... but that would be unfair since I don't like those types of drinks in general. It's not thick and chunky like their other stuff. And it's actually good?? I hate that it's good because I went from a Heytea hater to a Heytea frequenter. It's floral, fragrant and it's a perfect mix of guava and milk/cream. Never would I have thought to pair guava and dairy together BUT IT WORKS SOMEHOW. Think strawberries and cream... but guava. The jasmine tea isn't prominent but it's there as a base layer and definitely smells soooo good. The guava taste is strong and I don't know what magic they put in there but it's not artificial and gross. The cream on top is nice too! I tend to drink from the lid the first and just enjoy the cream and then afterwards I'll mix it in with the drink. It's $8 which is pricey.... But I hate that I like it. This was the last stop on my mini matcha tour in the LA area and after drinking 2 other lattes, I was worried it would end up being a little too much. Boy, was I glad to be wrong. Decided to try this spot out before we left the mall this afternoon. The line was out the door so it had to be good, right? This spot just opened near the Target side of the mall. Seemed overhyped honestly. The drinks are pricey, drinks came out quick but the menu doesn't tell you anything. They have drink names and photos, no description of what's in it. I guess you can ask but the photo also didn't look anything like how my drink turned out. I went for the coconut mango boom, the place gets crowded inside so it's better to wait outside and just watch for your number to pop up on the screen which is honestly convenient and maybe that was the purpose. I thought I was just getting a coconut mango smoothie and I added boba. Also? They call it "bobo" here so when I ordered "bobo" in my drink, the worker looked at me and asked a few times what I wanted lol and then asked if I wanted "boba". Made me feel like I didn't know what I wanted lmao. Anyway, the drink was what I described except it had a lot of other stuff in it such as mini tapioca pearls, pudding of some sort, AND chunks of mango. A very solid spot, and I'm glad they opened this Glendale location. I got the Coconut Mango Blue with no sweetener, and it was already the perfect level of sweetness for me. I'd recommend ordering it this way if you don't like drinks that are too sweet or if you're trying to cut down on sugar. If you're looking for fruit teas, this probably isn't the place. Their drinks are thicker but still smooth, with a really nice balance of textures and flavors that makes each sip interesting and satisfying. Because of that, I always end up finishing the entire cup easily. It's perfect if you want something smoothie-like but not overly thick. Some of their other top flavors are also very reliable, like the Mango Grapefruit Boom. One drink I personally wouldn't recommend is the Tiramisu Rich Chocolate--it felt like a glorified hot chocolate in cold form, basically like a rich chocolate milk you could buy for cheaper at the market. Apparently it brings out more flavor drinking out of a smaller opening than a larger one, because it emulates "sipping". There's always a line but the wait is never too long. A self order kiosk would be a nice addition, but maybe it's just how they regulate order traffic as there ins't just a person designated to take orders. I may be addicted to Heytea's triple matcha... but I think that's okay. I literally haven't tried anything else on the menu but I have friends who have branched out any love all their drinks. For me, it's always going to be the triple matcha. It's coconut jelly mixed with Matcha, matcha mochi and creamy matcha cheese. I even get it full sweetness but you can pick your level of sweetness. If you appreciate tea in its purest form, then I would NOT recommend Hey Tea in Glendale. I tried their jasmine tea and their longjing tea (no sugar). Both of these teas were SO BITTER, as if they had been steeped for way too long. That isn't good tea to me. I happened upon Heytea's opening weekend at Glendale Galleria. They had a full shop, but service remained efficient and friendly. I tried the Supreme Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea with reduced sweetness but the sweetness still overpowered the tea flavor. I also tried the Coconut Mango Boom which was a dreamy dessert drink akin to mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream or arroz con leche with mango. I loved the Coconut Mango Boom so much I stopped by Heytea again the next time I was at the mall. Unfortunately, service wasn't as efficient the second time around. I waited over 20 minutes for a couple of drinks. Turned out my drinks had been made and had been sitting behind the counter for a while without being called. I received my watery drinks only after I checked in with staff about an update on the wait time. Happy a Heytea has finally opened up so close to me. My first experience at this location wasn't great though. Chose to mobile order since the line seemed long and the cashier recommended to do so. Regretted this as I saw everyone who had ordered in line pickup all their drinks well before mine. From time of order to the time my two drinks were ready, was exactly 30 minutes. If I had gone in line, it probably would've been half the time - so there's a pro tip. I do think they missed half my order because the more complicated slushy was there sitting (and melting) for at least 10 minutes while the black tea latte was not prepared until I alerted one of the workers.
