First of all, the sale of what is offered here as "peach cobbler" should merit criminal arrest! For $5.95 you receive about 8 ounces of wet sweet dough enveloping about 10 or fewer sprinkles of canned peach morsels about the size of a number 2 pencil's eraser! Next, this establishment should not be classified as a restaurant as there is no seating--just a trough of offerings in a steam table configuration. I didn't award the place a1 because two offerings were tasty: the cabbage and the potato salad. But don't gamble on the mac and cheese--I'm warning you. read more

I don't know where to start but the soul food Mexican restaurant is a hell no I understand it's probably been there for years but no more the macaroni and cheese taste like they put lemon juice in it but beyond further investigation I believe that she's a spoiled the green beans that I got a hard like they haven't boiled it ain't cook it almost I don't know. The oxtails was not giving don't taste no seasoning the gravy is water powder more powder the rice is they just boil the rice they didn't add no salt pepper to nothing to none of this cornbread hard as a damn Rock. The lady service she helped us was okay A little bit of English. And Ambience of a restaurant is to go place don't sit down and eat the prices is over ridiculous $33 for oxtails rice nasty mac and cheese nasty green beans nasty cornbread and then they had a nerves to charge me $4 for a Snapple and never go back. read more

Walked in and was greeted by a very stunned man. He was like ..... that was odd. Then I asked for the fried catfish and he said they couldn't do that right now.....was unclear as to WHY it couldn't be done. That was also odd to me.... So I settled for the baked salmon with the Mac & yams. All food is buffet style so you'll be able to see the quality (minus the baked salmon) .... The mac was great. Everything else is lacking in quality and taste for my liking. I paid $27 for the this and I am sad it didn't hit like I wanted it to. read more

It's like a soul food spot that resembles a China Town Express fast food to go spot. I never knew that my Latino brothas could put their backs into soul food like us Black folk. I have only one problem with Glorias now, the price is too high! $25 for a salmon platter. $23 for a catfish dinner? They raised their prices which is understandable, yet they went too high. The value of the food is no longer. read more

Went there today because I am trying to eat healty got some salmon, spinach, and cabbage. First off why is it so expensive? My plate was $27.00 that's ridiculous. The salmon was bland I had to put some salt and pepper on it just to be able to eat it. The spanich taste like the Popeye's spinach out of the can, on everything I don't care what they say that spinish was out of the can. I though it was a soul food place why is it mexican and soul where they do that at? That does not go together at all I will never go back there. ITS A NO FOR ME. I would of been better off going to waba grill getting salmon from there may not be the best but it's way cheaper. I'm telling you don't go. Stopped here this afternoon for lunch not really paying attention to anything other than the sign saying Soul Food. I was expecting my Granny's Soul Food, but instead I got la comida del alma de mi abuela. Im not discriminating, just showing there is a difference. There were a few things missing from this meal and it was... Soul Food Seasoning. If you don't know what that means then you shouldn't be trying to cook soul food. I ordered the Meatloaf Dinner with Mac n Cheese and Cabbage. I can only say that it was just like my rating. It was ok. It was just ok because it wasn't bad or nasty, it just wasn't anything that would get you excited for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner if it was being served. I think all these meals could have popped more with a little Cajun seasoning, pepper, and garlic powder could go a long way. Even ask pops in the back to sprinkle a little salt like Salt Bae and I promise it will make a difference. Theres nothing like that moment when you're seasoning your soul food and your ancestors touch your soul to tell you when to stop! read more

I was so glad to discover Gloria's because the food was outstanding. I hadn't eaten soul food in awhile and the fried chicken, meatloaf, BBQ ribs, greens, mac and cheese, and yams were all very tasty. I was impressed. The food looked very appetizing and attractive and the prices were very reasonable. They offered a wide selection of food items and the portions were very good. The restaurant was small but neat and clean. Gloria was very nice and accommodating. The only downside was parking was very limited in the small shared lot. I look forward to returning to Gloria's. This place is great. I just started working in the neighborhood and I decided to eat at this place for lunch. I told the woman behind the counter it was my first time there and she was nice enough to recommend a few options, I decided to go with the turkey meatloaf with my sides as: Red Beans and Rice, and Mac & Cheese. Let me start off by saying I'm extremely picky especially with my food. My bf ordered food and told me about this restaurant, however I did not try it. One day I was going to Hungry Joes located in the same parking lot but they had a long line, looked over and noticed Gloria's was open with a smaller line so decided to give it a try. I've been back 3 additional times in the last month. I've tried their fried catfish (seasoned perfectly and fried crispy), smothered ribeye steak (tender and so flavorful), yams, cabbage, dressing, and the mac and cheese are all delicious. Lastly, the owner Gloria is really nice and welcoming. I appreciate the great customer service especially nowadays where it seems to be a thing of the past. This is definitely my go to soul food restaurant now. read more

The food was great. The restaurant isn't anything fancy but I like the fact that you can see the food before you order. The food is in front of you kinda like Panda Express. Found this place by accident but I'm so glad that I did. The fried catfish was delicious! So was the cabbage, and sweet potatoes... That's all that I have the pleasure of trying, but I am sure to be back.
