This is amazing place for Afro centric food. Every dish hit well and was enjoyed by all! Personally I found the suya mushrooms + greens to be good and nice n meaty texture. The plantain crab was also great. The lamb with bean hummus was also excellent and so was the lamb dibi skewers. We got the crispy chicken maafe and I must say, it was not only just tender on the inside, the outside was fried so well and the sauces went so well together! The jollof platter with jerk braised short rib was also excellent and soft and the short rib was tender and flavorful. The garlic noodles with branzino was also great. I'd of preferred the branzino by itself since it was excellent on its own. Their tres leches cake was very moist and soft and delicious. It wasn't super sweet. The staff was super nice and attentive, the food came out in a reasonable timely manner and not too overcrowded or bare. The drinks were excellent, I had the beet infante which was great and refreshing. The atmosphere is very lively and romantic setting but also good energy and good music! read more

I've had Two Hommes on my list of places to try for years. I'm really just never in this area but some stars aligned and I finally got to grab dinner with some friends. This place really met and exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't recommend it more. I wish this place was closer to where I live, because I would unironically be a regular here. I almost never really talk about ambiance, but when you first walk into Two Hommes it feels like the restaurant itself is giving you a big welcoming hug. The attention to detail and the decor is so inviting, and you almost immediately know you're likely in for a good time. The staff is all super attentive, and most importantly the food is spectacular. African cuisine is one I love, and there aren't a lot of establishments that focus on it around our local areas. I'm certainly not an expert nor have had the most experience with it vs my experience with European and Asian cuisine, what I can attest to is every dish we had at Two Hommes was packed with bold flavors, and every dish was executed at a high level. There are certainly no lack of spices and seasonings here, and my favorite of the night was honestly the lamb hummus and rice from the Jollof platter. My goodness, days later and I'm still thinking about how good the food was. We only had one cocktail, Cognac & Coffee, but from what I could tell the cocktail paired really well with the food. I'm guessing but I think alot of the cocktails are probably crafted to pair well with the food, and I can't wait to return to explore more of their drink menu. We did bring a bottle and there is a corkage fee, but would definitely recommend informing the restaurant ahead of time if you plan to bring a bottle - it sounds like they do need advanced notice. I've now come here twice for an early supper - once when they had their pre-summer menu and after that. Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Staff were wonderful. Short ribs- if you heard me moaning at my table no you didn't. Not sure what all that was in that bowl but I'd eat it weekly with a smile. My cocktail was delicioussss. I think this may be my favorite restaurant in Inglewood. Wow, I was completely blown away by the incredible service and food. I recommend going with a group so you can try as many things as possible! Highlights were the berbere chicken and the platter with chicken. Also the bread that came with the lamb hummus was shockingly delicious - we had to order extra. The workers and chef were so sweet and engaged in conversation with us which really contributes to the family/neighborhood type feel. Can't wait to come back, especially to try brunch! read more

4/5 Great neighborhood spot for a nicer meal. The parking lot is shared with a number of other stores and a school so read the signs carefully. Reservations are highly recommended but we found two last minute seats at the bar relatively easily on a Friday at 6pm. Dishes we tried for 2 people (with leftovers): - Honey Berbere Chicken Bites (5/5) Perfectly fried bites or chicken. I love a sweet savory sauce and the citrus aioli alongside tangy thin pickles was a great touch. - Jerk Braised Short Rib (5/5) Amazing, must order. Every bite was perfection. I don't know how they got the texture on the whipped sweet potato. Also the sweetness of the base perfectly complemented the tender umami rich short rib. - Garlic Noodles with BBQ Jerk Cauliflower add-on (2/5) Although noodles were cooked al dente-- the flavors just didn't jive. It was also kind of soupy at the bottom and the sauce didn't really stick to the noodles. I appreciated the large serving of cauliflower but I wish it were crispier and more caramelized. - Plantain Sticky Toffee Cake (5/5) I think I got the name wrong but if you see it on their rotating dessert menu -- just get it. As a visitor to LA, I had the great fortune to be hosted and treated by a dear friend who is close to the Two Hommes. She made menu selections based on what she loved most and what she knew I would appreciate. She did NOT MISS. I loved every single thing about this place. The vibe is chill but vibrant, with groovy old school R&B and hip-hop music playing overhead but not so loud that you could not have a conversation. We sat at the bar and interacted with the beautiful and friendly bartender and servers and folks from the kitchen. We ordered all of our food at once, but had it come out as it was ready, I enjoyed every exquisite morsel. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer. I had to scoot on out of there to make my red-eye flight out of LAX and they accommodated my rush. And despite the inexplicable traffic, I made it there and through to the gate in good time. What a treat and I can't wait to go back! For anyone considering visiting Two Hommes, don't sleep. Get there quick and often. read more

Ambience: Impeccable, casual with slight upscale, dark with warm lighting, soft R&B music Service: no complaints, everyone was warm and welcoming, great energy Food: (best to worst except dessert) - garlic noodles with shrimp: amazing flavor profile, had some Asian flavor profiles but not sure if that was intentional, shrimp was perfectly cooked with slight crunch to it - plantain with crab: only three pieces but was incredibly delicious with very refreshing herbal flavors with slight sweetness from the plantain and the crab was fresh - jollof with chili garlic chicken: classic and traditional, the spice was mild, I I actually rice I could've had it a little spicier, the jollof was a slightly on the dryer side -Zaatar zucchini, grilled broccolini: liked them both. Hit Two Hommés on a Saturday evening for date night. The spot has a great vibe - small to medium layout with enough indoor seating to feel cozy without being crammed. We kicked things off with the Honey Berbere Chicken Bites and the Grilled Broccolini. The chicken bites were dialed in - that sweet/spicy berbere combo with the citrus aioli and house pickles was an easy win. The broccolini was a miss, though. It came out overcooked and charred way past the point of a nice sear, taking over the whole flavor profile. The main course completely saved the play. The Root Beer Braised Short Rib over whipped sweet potatoes and tri-color carrots was cooked to absolute perfection. Tender, rich, and the flavor profile hit every right note. The Jollof Platter: Each grain of the Ghanaian Jollof Rice is firm, al dente, and seasoned - no mushy rice on this plate. The rice is evenly coated with well balanced spices. You can taste a little curry and a bit of fennel. The arugula salad cuts the richness with its peppery leaves. The caramelized plantains are crispy and gooey. The bomb azz black beans live up to their name, creamy and silky with every spoonful. If you're going to add a protein, make it the Root Beer Braised Short Rib. Braised short rib is a rich and succulent cut of beef. You don't really cut the extremely tender meat as much as you jiggle the moist juicy beef. The root beer makes a nice sticky glaze. They add the habanero sauce and cilantro lime crema on top like frosting on a cupcake. The creamy, sweet, and tangy sauces with chives add an explosion of flavor. Two Hommes was such a lovely dinner. I would give this 4.5 stars but the Za'atar zucchini pushes this up to a 5 star meal. First off, this place is poppin! My friend and I came on a Thursday night and it was packed! Definitely get reservations! The only thing we ordered not pictured I was the Za'atar zucchini which is a shame because it was my favorite dish. It was so incredibly flavorful. 10/10 truly. One of my favorite dishes I've ever eaten. The short rib with whipped sweet potato was exactly what my friend wanted - she loves short rib and this gave her everything she could have asked for. Great depth of flavor, superrr tender. And the whipped sweet potatoes were a great complement. 9/10 The lamb chops were great but definitely needed a different knife for them. Great flavor and cook on the meat though. 9/10 Unfortunately the jollof rice did not hit the mark for me. My best friend from college is Nigerian so I've had tons of his aunty's jollof and this jollof rice just did not stand up to the home cooked goodness I love so much. This was disappointing because my friend had never had jollof rice snd she was looking forward to trying it and was very let down. 7/10 The plantains were great, and I lovedddd the bside of black beans. Those were soooo good! I lovedddd plantains mixed with black beans so I was super happy to finish those off. 10/10 for the beans, 9/10 plantains. The service was great! We never felt rushed, never felt like anyone interjected too much while at the same time our server was super helpful and just good energy. Came for dinner an hour before close on a Saturday night with no reservation. It was crowded. Lots of dates and large parties and solo diners. Very cute vibe. The host was so nice and friendly. He let us wait to see if someone didn't show. They didn't! I've been here before so I know what I like. Garlic noodles and lamb chops with a Young Fashion and the warm plantain sticky cake. My bf had the Braised short ribs and whipped yams..sorry I really disliked this. Everything was just mushy and ate like baby food, just not the best. They have one of the best shrimp & grits dishes I've ever had. It's on par with the best place I've had in New Orleans after 4 visits there. Perfectly cooked shrimp. Thick and creamy grits. And the sauces on top are so flavorful. The biscuits are tiny, but also really good. They were served warm with jam & butter. The drink I had here is good as well. They have a small, well curated cocktail list. Drinks & food came out fast. Beautiful space. I noticed they updated the seating and removed the benches and metal chairs and it really elevated the place. Before the interior read as casual but the menu wasn't, and now it all makes sense. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the service. While seemingly attentive at first, it wasn't personable & we were definitely rushed. Came for a 1pm reservation and finished around 2pm. They close at 3pm on Sunday but our server rushed us to wrap up. Even took our waters before we finished without asking, on a hot day at that. And throughout the meal things just felt very rushed because he spoke fast. Maybe he had a lot of tables to tend to but I didn't enjoy that aspect of dining in. We walked in w/o reservations so we were sat at the bar near the back. Service was great, and the food was tasty. I enjoyed a juicy burger, my husband had the salmon with garlic noodles and my daughter had the chicken minus the sauce. All was devoured. No doggy bag for us. Only complaint was my salty fries, but my husband said we weren't there for the fries. Lol! So we left those behind. Oh and the drinks, amazingly delicious. First off, the vibes in there were immaculate. It's a great place for a date night with dim lighting and great music. The drinks - genuinely superb and so yummy. My bf got the Sentinela Sour and I got the Sobolo Spritz. Drinks came out quickly, so I ended up finishing at least half of my drink before the food came out. I loved the lamb and white bean hummus the most out of everything we got! The flatbread was so soft and was a perfect vehicle for the hummus. The hummus itself was nice and bright from the fresh herbs. I got the Jollof Platter which I would give an 8/10. Without the addition of protein, it's probably a 7/10. The protein makes it a more complete meal and I liked the flavor of the berbere shrimp. The sauces that it came with made the platter more flavorful. The jollof rice itself was ok, I've had some homemade jollof rice that was much better. My boyfriend got the Chilean Seabass which was fine, but small portion. The mains were pretty expensive for what they were so I probs wouldn't get them again. One thing I would get again is the dessert! It ended off our meal nicely. We got a plantain sticky cake with ice cream which is the perfect dessert - with the hot and cold. It was so good! Not crazy sweet, but just enough to hit the craving. Two complaints were: they could use a bit of a sound barrier because the acoustics weren't great and in addition, there was music PLUS a TV in the background. Also, we weren't told nor did we see anywhere in making the reservation that there was a limit of 1.5 hours for a party of 4. We didn't order right away because we didn't know we had this limit and weren't told until we were looking at the dessert menu. When we were considering getting dessert we were told that the next party was there so we actually could not sit and have dessert. There just was not enough time for us to peruse the menu, talk to each other, talk to the waiter AND get dessert. it felt quite rushed and they kept trying to clear our dishes before we were actually finished. That put a damper on the evening. I really enjoyed everything else and sending this feedback in the hopes that you can correct for this...either make it very clear on the website or when someone makes a reservation OR tell us when we first come in. Energetic and loud. Everyone seems to be having a good time. 10/10 lamb hummus. I always love lamb for how fat and rich in flavor it is. The lamb bits in the hummus certainly delivered all the elements I love about lamb. The hummus itself is interesting, because it's on the more watery side. But it really doesn't matter that much as it goes quite well with the bread that comes with. I am curious if the bread is where the African characters is? Since it definitely tastes like some kind of grain more commonly used in African cuisine. 10/10 grilled branzino. $14 for a grilled branzino add-on? The pricing at two hommes confuses me, since the noodle itself is $20, so it's more than the fish? I guess you have to order at least one main to order the protein. But hello, $14 for grilled branzino is AMAZING, I should have ordered two of this fish! Love the crispy branzino skin, packed with exotic seasoning! Grilling (or searing) seafood is not easy, as it's very easy to lose the moisture and then the seafood just hardens and loses all its sweetness. But NOT this branzino, so soft and tender and sweetness from this fish is well preserved. 5/10 for the rice and noodle and the concept of adding protein on top of the rice and noodle. I like to read a good story not because I get to decide what the character does, but becauseI want to follow the main character's journey. So I come to a restaurant more curious about the story the chef wants to tell. If you are telling me the noodle goes quite well with any kinds of protein, then I get really skeptical, since maybe that just means I don't need the noodles. Also the noodle sauce is overpowering. If I were to come back to this place again, I'd just order one noodle, and a bunch of protein options which I am totally convinced by the heightened level of this grilled branzino. I am a little unhappy with the service though. For the first 50min, we only got served one appetizer. The server seemed to have forgotten about our lamb hummus appetizer. The location of this restaurant is in a kinda sketchy area. Behind the restaurant is a bunch of dumpsters with trash seagulls flying around. I actually never saw that many seagulls in the city side. Parking is at Ralphs though I'm unsure if you could park there or not. There is a sign for parking for Ralphs only and several parkings are for teachers. Service and food are amazing though. The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom sink has the most narrow faucet ever. The faucet is 1 in above the sink so I don't know how people wash their hands. These are what we ordered 1 Plantain + Crab $20.00 - 3/5. I fried plantain is good with the little bit of crabs on the side. Dish is creative but overall not extraordinary. 1 Root Beer Braised Short Rib - $44.00 5/5 this is the most delicious and my favorite dish. The mashed potato is so creamy and beef is so soft. It is the most creamy and buttery mashed potato I've ever had. 1 Jollof Platter $28.00 + Berbere Shrimp $12.00 - 4/5. The spicy rice dish has enough moisture and dryness. The shrimp was grilled in creme sauce. 1 Garlic Noodle $22.00 2/5. It tastes like soy sauce noodles because I couldn't really taste the garlic part of it. 1 Plantain Sticky Cake $15.00 5/5 toffee pudding style and is amazing. Moist and creamy. The food at this place was amazing. Every single dish was made to perfection. I was not disappointed in the quality of the food at all. I'm writing this review because the service that we experience was subpar. We attended the restaurant on a Friday night and our server initially came off as quite attentive, but as the meal progressed was very fragmented in her interactions. We were a party of four and we ordered several appetizers, which came out shortly after the initial order. After what feels like 30 minutes after our appetizers, she asked us if we wanted to see a dessert menu without recalling that we were still waiting for our main courses. When we finally got our main courses, it was clear that our jollof platter had been sitting for a while. We decided to regroup and wait for a dessert menu. After the dessert menu was left. It took her another 20 to 25 minutes to come back to the table so we decided that we were going to leave. Typically, when you receive subpar service, it can be reflected in your gratuity. However, this restaurant charged an automatic 20% for poor service. read more

The best hidden gem in Inglewood ! Great servers - the best vibes and music and just atmosphere all around - food is top tear made with love hands down - DELICIOUS. Can't wait to pull up on the food truck now wherever it is in LA ! The owners came out and chat with all the guest that were in the Dining room - just all around great place ! read more

I came here on a Friday night with some of my girlfriends to get a good meal and catch up. My friend raved about how much her and her husband loved this place so we went to check it out. We had reservations so we got seated right away, which was nice. All the staff was so friendly. And the food... The food was amazing. I had the lamb chops with the noodles and it was perfect. At first, I thought the portion was too small but once I started eating it, it was just enough and I had a little bit of leftovers. The bread with the hummus was also delicious. And the drink was good. The atmosphere and vibe was nice and I will definitely come back again. read more

Came back on a Saturday night with my husband before heading out to celebrate my brother in law's 40th birthday downtown, and the experience was just as lovely. He ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp and was still raving about them later that night with friends. As much as I enjoyed the garlic fries during my last visit, they did not hit the same this time around, though they were still good. I really appreciated the hospitality and how accommodating the hostess was when I called to update our reservation. Still highly recommend. read more

I finally made it to Two Hommes. And overall, it did not disappoint. But I'll get into the specifics in a bit. I'll start off with parking. Killing two birds with one stone, I shopped at Ralph's and parked in the the lot as close to the Two Hommes as I could. I needed to get some stuff plus, the restaurants wasn't open yet. One of the curses of getting to places early. There were signs about parking in the lot but I ignored them because I was a Ralph's customer. There's also street parking. And I don't know what those restrictions are. I recommend making reservations. I took a chance and got there at opening and since the reservation open slots were all available, I figured maybe it wasn't busy during the week. Diners started filing in as I was on my way out. Not packed but it was still early. Service was great. Left me to my own devices checking on me here and there. There was a separate person delivering my order - runner or chef, I don't know but I didn't ask, and he didn't really engage other than to announce what he was delivering. Even the host checked on me a few times. Then there was the food. I really enjoyed all the dishes starting with the Suya Shrooms and Greens. I've not had that mix of flavors before and my palette took a liking to it. I cleared the dish and could have and would have eaten more if the serving size were larger. Great starter. Then I moved the main course. Garlic Noodles and I added (protein) the Lamb Chops. Loved the lamb but wasn't keen on the Garlic Noodles. The dish wasn't bland or imbalanced - I guess I'm just used to the "Asian" style of the dish - not this bold, little spicy and smoky rendition. I'm used to the softer, slightly chewy noodles compared to the almost al dente from last night's dish. And I love al dente. Saving room for dessert (carrot cake) I saved a Lamb Chop and some of the noodles which I'll change the profile by adding a butter and lime but I'll say it wasn't bad, it was unexpected and possibly something that for me, might have to be listed as an acquired taste. I already mentioned the dessert - and I inhaled it. I was already full, not just from the food but the drinks - no alcohol last night - I had the daily juice of the day. A few servings. Careful - it's an extra charge for refills, which the server did mention but still no where in the vicinity of the cost had I had a cocktail or two. On that note, alcohol is served! Though I wasn't a huge fan of the Garlic Noodles, like I mentioned, I enjoyed everything else. I'll have to go back to see how the other dishes are that I've heard so much about. Was so excited to finally try Two Hommés in Inglewood, and to my surprise, I absolutely loved it! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, friendly, and genuinely kind. You immediately feel welcomed and taken care of. We came for Sunday brunch and the food did not disappoint. I had the Lamb Sando, which was absolutely delicious, and my husband had the Egg & Black Bean Tostadas, also so good! Everything was flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and left us already talking about coming back. The drinks were great too, which made the whole brunch experience even better. Two Hommes is truly a gem in Inglewood. We came for brunch, but we're already looking forward to coming back for dinner and trying more of the menu. Definitely a spot worth checking out! read more
