Got off work a little early unfortunately I did miss happy hour, but sat at the bar... They are always so nice and attentive. Crab soup was the special of the night and it was very good. I did make a suggestion that one or two little pieces of lump crab on top would Elevate the soup and a couple crackers on the side would be great. We've been coming to this location for close to 20 years. In the late 2000s, it was a weekly treat. If you'd asked me to rate the establishment back then, it would have been 5-star ratings every single week. But as I'm sure you'll see in the other reviews on here, this place has gone downhill in an awful kind of way. It's not even recognizable anymore. The last time I was here was a year ago and I remember thinking the prices were higher than I'd remembered and the service wasn't so good. I just chalked it up to a bad night. Well, last night my family and I decided to visit Glory Days to treat some family from out of town. The food was just terrible (dry and cold) and the service was even worse. I literally didn't eat my food and I never even got a refill on my drink (not because I didn't ask, however). And what's up with the worn out cushions on the seats? They're just laying on the bench (not attached) with all kinds of crumbs and grossness down in the cracks. Absolutely unacceptable to expect someone to eat in those conditions. I never thought I'd be saying this, but I can promise you that this is the last time I will ever walk inside this establishment. If things don't improve, I honestly don't know how they can stay in business long-term. Glory Days used to be a place I looked forward to taking my family to wind down from a hard day's work and spend quality time together. Now I just consider it a disgrace. read more

Quality has gone down so much in food. This has been a neighborhood staple for years, I have been getting the same order for a long time. Now I order a 12-ct boneless wings with mild sauce and receive.... 14 tiny chicken nuggets without a HINT of sauce? How is this at all what I asked for? We tried to give them another chance, but things have gone downhill quickly. Over the last few months, we've noticed poor management, slow staff response, and a decline in food quality. It's really disappointing, especially since this has been a family staple for the last 10 years. Recently, we've walked in only to walk right back out after seeing endless tables without food, uncleared dishes, and no hostess -- which has happened multiple times. The phone rings nonstop with no one answering, which is frustrating to listen to while dining. And when you need your waiter, they're nowhere to be found or are gathered in the back talking or on their phones. Well, first of all I called an order in for pickup....after arriving at the takeout desk I told the person at the desk that I was there to pickup my call in order..he proceeded to tell me to go to the back ( Uber Eats) area to pickup the order but it wasn't there...I waited 20 minutes for someone to address the issue and then finally someone ask what was I waiting on and it was discovered my order was placed at the front desk entrance....to add when I got home my order was completely wrong..how frustrated this was....it was cold and I just angry about the entire ordeal.... The staff were incredible rude. Would not change the TV to the NWSL quarterfinals because they "couldn't change the TVs that day". This TV was unassigned, some have papers showing which game they'll be playing, this one did not. We were the only people anywhere near this TV. When we first arrived in Richmond bearly 12 years ago, we discovered Glory Days. It became a regular for my family. We really enjoyed the food and it was reasonably priced. It's had its ups and downs over the years but it continues to be a place that we return to for standard American fare without spending a fortune. It won't knock your socks off but you can find good food and drinks and not spend your whole paycheck on the bill. read more

i'm a fixture at Glory Days. I frequent the one in Lecanto and know the menu by heart. They recently come out with some new menu items better very good and not so great. The new lemon wings are fabulous. The cod sandwich is delicious just not. So if you want something light and quick and delicious that's your sandwich. The Reuben was really disappointing. It doesn't come out looking anything like the picture which shows a nice layer of sauerkraut and a very put together sandwich. Like one of the servers said.... It just looked a mess. The beef itself was delicious. The presentation really needs some work. i've gotten to know a lot of the crew there and they're just a great bunch of gals who worked very hard. I haven't been served by all of them, but eventually I'll get there. (I know two guys serve there but I rarely get them and I really don't think I'd talk to them like I do the girls) It breaks my heart when they're mistreated and they're trying to do such a good job. I think people forget that they have lives with issues outside of the grill. Tipping properly and not even necessarily generously is not a thankless gesture. it's the decent thing to do. You kinda have to keep things in perspective. If you're blessed to be financially comfortable to eat out and waited on for an hour by someone who just wants to make sure you're having a pleasant meal and good experience the least you can do is tip them properly. it's called a gratuity for a reason. It demonstrates gratitude. I'm sure none of the girls when they were little envisioned, their dream job was to wait on surly, ungrateful and entitled feeling jerks. i've seen some people come in and treat their server absolutely horribly for no good reason. Demand that their every culinary wish be optimally afforded them (instantaneously of course because most important person in the room) and then leave a less than .5% tip. That wasn't a typo. Three dollars on a $90 tab! That's a cold hearted despicable person who obviously has a very sad life to be able to do that. I'm sorry if they think treated them badly. But look at the situation honestly. You just spent $90 eating out! Do you really think your server can afford to do the same? If you have been blessed with such a comfortable life that you can afford to do this type of indulgence why not pass along part of that blessing? They are not working for the Joy of waiting on someone else's desires and wishes. They have families to take care of, parents to provide for and help out, and just trying to get a start on building their own independent lives. Those of us who can afford to come in, plop ourselves down, order whatever it is we're wanting that particular day or night and walk away without having to clean up can at least express a little gratitude and admiration to that individual doing their best for you to have a pleasant experience. read more

I work close to this restaurant and would frequent it often. EVER since they changed management, the food and service have both gone way downhill. I just spent 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me with a pick up order while 5 different employees just walked by me. I ordered the Chicken Philly to go and it was a poorly constructed sandwich. Instead of thin chicken cooked on a flat top using the two edges of metal spatulas, I received chunks of chicken lumped into the sandwich. Onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayo were fine, but the chunks of chicken caused the sandwich to totally fall apart as you tried to eat it. I live 3 minutes from GD so those who think the sandwich sat are wrong. Taste and seasoning okay, but I had to eat the sandwich's ingredients off my plate with a fork while taking bites of the bread. Took my family here for our first (and LAST!) visit last night. The menu was interesting and we had high hopes for a new neighborhood place to visit. Well...the service was uninspired and the food was way below what we expected. Our server never returned to check on our meals or our satisfaction with the food. He did get drink refills and brought us the check, but other than that we had minimal contact with him. My wife had a cheeseburger with fries and my daughter ordered the chicken wings with a side of Mac and Cheese Poppers. I ordered the cheesesteak with onion rings and coleslaw. My wife ate half of her dinner and my daughter said that the "sauce" for the wings was "weird". Neither enjoyed their meal. My cheesesteak was thicker than I believe a cheesesteak should be, thus making it a poor representation of one of my favorite foods. Good news...the coleslaw was delicious! Our final verdict of Glory Days is that both the service and the food left A LOT to be desired. Would we return for another try? NO! Ok...with whatever ownership changes that have transpired I fear this establishment is taking a turn for the worse. Absolutely every server they had in place has left, lol including dress code changes for staff. I mean what's wrong with a team jersey or shirt of choice...it's a sports bar!!! Menu changes galore. Including getting rid of half salads, increasing cost of wings, to now measuring ounces and wing order numbers now 6-10-15, etc. all cost cutting measures not benefiting the customer with plenty other restaurant options in the area. Food: If you're looking for good bar/grill food, this is the spot. I'm always pleased and they've got some great apps for a big group. My family always gets their huge order of Nachos. The Soft pretzel sticks are good, but the cheese is meh. The wings are always fantastic, but could use some more variety in their sauces. It is wild they have no garlic parmesan. The burgers are great. My favorite by far is their chicken tender platter. The fries have the best seasoning and the tenders are perfectly crispy. They may be some of my favorite chicken tenders. Drinks: Could really step it up with their drink specials. Bartenders are great though. Ambiance: It's a sports bar...lots of jerseys and middle school sports team pictures from 2011. If they remodeled decor and interior, honestly this place would pop off to the next level. Service: All the staff is smiley and nice, but don't go on a friday or saturday evening, it will be slammed. A consistent west end chain that has been a staple for 20+ years has completely lost its way. Not sure what went wrong but the last 6 months, service and food quality has dropped significantly. A recent meal of chicken tenders and chicken Caesar salad was the worst. The chicken tenders are different than they've been the last several years. Tons of breading and tons of gristle now. The Caesar salad was wilted and some leaves were brown and slimy. I don't know how someone in the kitchen would even think it is a good idea to put those leaves on a plate to a customer. The grilled chicken breast was 4.5 small strips. Once seated, we waited 15 minutes for water then another 20 for food and it wasn't a busy night. There doesn't seem to be any presence of management walking around just a bunch of high school kids doing the best they can. I really hope they can right the ship soon because the crowds are not what they once were and the talk of the high school and little league parents who so often visit is the same...what happened to our fun and consistent Glory Days. read more

What was once a staple in the community has now become a restaurant that no longer stands out above all the rest in the area. For 22 years Glory Days has served and appreciated the surrounding neighborhood communities. Before the new ownership, Glory Days supported local organizations such as Tuckahoe Little League, Saint Judes Children's Research Hospital, Girl Scouts of American as well as elementary, middle and high school fundraisers and athletics. Now it just feels like a money hungry corporate chain. A place that felt like home no longer has familiar faces. It is sad to see such a cherished establishment turn into a place where regulars no longer want to visit. As a cost saving measure food suppliers where switched and the quality has gone downhill. Susan, Mark and Jason made this restaurant what it was for 2 decades before the new ownership and that's how I will always remember the Glory Days. read more

Went to watch opening Sunday of the NFL today. While there are plenty of TVs and it could be a decent place to watch the games, there was no energy at all. There was no sound playing of any kind. I think most of us would prefer the sounds of football (even if not for the game we are there to see). I miss the commentary, the excitement, the heads up there there is something exciting happening in another game. We left at halftime, as many others did. Too bad, now will need to find a new place to watch. read more

What is happening at Glory Days. This neighborhood restaurant is neighborly no more. I've been going here for 10 years and this visit I had to wait 45 minutes for a table and there were 11 empty tables. The friendly vibe that I loved has disappeared along with several employees that were fixtures. The servers and bartenders no longer wear their favorite team jerseys, instead all now all wear the same. Individual personalities no more just another chain restaurant. Been going here since I was a small child. i am now 27. New ownership came in recently and just completely ruined the vibe. The servers use to wear jerseys and sports gear now they have to wear polos and just doesn't give the same feel as before. Also they are constantly running out of things which never happened until recently. For example on national margarita day they ran out of margaritas....I mean come on just order extra. Super solid place to get a bite and drink! We've been coming to this location since as far back as I can remember. I haven't been in a few years (moved away), but while visiting family, we decided to have lunch here since it would have anything and everything we were in the mood for. Everything was clean, and our server was very friendly and attentive (I wish I could remember his name!). My parents got salads, and my husband and I got the Ranchero Wrap and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich. My only complaint is the chicken in my wrap was a little plain, I wish it was seasoned! Everything else was great, and we finished lunch by splitting a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. As long as their doors are open, we will be coming back! read more

Where's the Buffalo sauce? (In my Wendy's where's the beef commercial voice) I ordered the medium Buffalo wings bone in. What I got was dry wings with no sauce on them and a tad bit of sauce in the container. Why not cover the wings with the sauce? Why are you giving out wings without the sauce on them? While I normally get the wings with the Old Bay dry rub, I tried something different since the Old Bay were super salty last time. Yes, I know that RVA isn't known for their wings, but you usually do a pretty good job. As your hostess said that answered the phone, when I came to pick up my order, "we're very busy and your order isn't ready--just sit and wait." I should have known I was doomed when it came to my food. The food was ready despite the hostess being rude and saying it wasn't. Came to visit on a Saturday afternoon and was asked to provide an additional form of ID due to having an out of state (NC) license. I was in town visiting, therefore did not have a second form (also don't walk around with 2 forms on a normal basis). The waitress tried to be apologetic and said she hadn't worked in a while and needed to "follow rules because the boss's daughter is working today", but I've never been asked to provide 2 forms at a restaurant in any state and my ID is in fact a valid NC license. The crab dip was good but the only strange thing was the bread it came with. It was a toasted roll but once you got inside it was soft. So imagine eating crab dip on soft wonder bread. Couldn't really appreciate dip as much because the bread was soaking it up. I ordered the impossible burger and it was delightful. Great size and great prize. You would never know it wasn't meat. My wife got the fish and ships with a side of shrimp. Everything was delicious. The fish and chips held up really good. Pretty sure its not home made but well worth the money. I mean just wow! Local sports bar that was jumping on a Monday evening and now I know why! $7.99 Burger Night was a hit for my brother and I! Our waiter was super nice and helpful as we navigated through the burger options! I decided on the bacon cheeseburger burger and asked about the sides where he mentioned the fries were popular so I asked for second best and he said the veggies! So I opted for the veggies (broccoli and carrots) hey it's called balance, lol...and they did not disappoint! Perfectly steamed with some melted butter and the fry seasoning, simple but so good!! Let's not forget that burger...listen served piping hot with good seasoning and quality ground beef (not gritty at all) , for the most part juicy as it was cooked a bit longer than I prefer but it was awesome, all fresh ingredients down to the bun! All I can say is wow. Read this Glory Days locations most recent inspection. Well, I'll just copy and paste it down below for you all to make your own judgements. I'm so disappointed Glory Days, I've been going there for 17 years now and will not be going back again until Glory Days releases an official statement regarding their new procedures. This is what happens when you hire kids straight out of high school to run a restaurant. Here it is: 27 Glory Days Grill, 10466 Ridgefield Parkway - The following violations were reported during a routine inspection: observed cook handle raw meat with gloved hands and then handle utensils and touch other surfaces without changing gloves and washing hands; facility couldn't provide parasite destruction documentation from salmon supplier; sanitizer concentration is 0 ppm in bar dish machine, even after several runs; chicken wings and boneless chicken wasn't cooked to sufficient temperature and time to eliminate pathogenic bacteria; facility is cooking raw animal foods (chicken) using a non-continuous cooking process, but doesn't have the proper written procedures in place; temperatures of two pans of macaroni and cheese prepared the previous day are elevated; temperatures of several individually wrapped meatloaf in cooler drawer and two containers of coleslaw in walk-in are elevated; cleaning spray bottles are not labeled with the chemical name; observed several pans of food being covered before the food properly cooled; employees are not using thermometers to monitor temps during the cooling process; open boxes of food incorrectly stored directly on walk-in freezer floor; single-service and single-use articles are not being handled and displayed in a way to protect from contamination; single-use articles are also stored on dirty surfaces above the prep line; several wire storage racks are rusty; fryer baskets are in disrepair; containers and lids are broken and/or cracked; cooler drawer on the cook line doesn't close properly; prep and all single cutting boards are heavily scratched and stained; observed dried food debris and dust buildup on surfaces of all wire storage racks, fan systems in walk-in cooler, monitors, cables, shelves, bread bins, rolling carts, and under grill; there is food splatter and mold on walls, ceiling panels, and floors throughout kitchen. read more

My family and I went to Glory Days tonight (Tuesday) and I ordered Grilled Fish Tacos which usually comes with two soft tacos. Inside the taco one should find two good sized Mahi Mahi, nicely grilled. All of the usual taco delights would be on top of the Fish. I only found one tiny piece of fish (grilled) but only about 1-2 inches long and 1/4 inch wide, as if it had been cut off a whole Mahi Mahi portion. The second taco, as I started to eat, tasted odd. It had 2 broiled shrimp in it!! I never order shrimp tacos because I don't like them. I politely finished it and pulled out the second shrimp. It was not what I ordered, but the meal was ending and the server wanted to bring the check. I told her about the shrimp and simply asked to let them know in the back. I told her the grilled Fish Taco is supposed to have Mahi Mahi in it. She asked if the shrimp was okay and again I was not willing to complain. For not asking for Mahi Mahi and sending my dinner back, I received no apology and I was not asked if I wanted anything else. The server seemed as though she was too rushed to care. We paid our bill and left. In my mouth I had a bad shrimp taste!! I would have been fine if they had been honest enough to let me know they did not have Fish Tacos (they obviously ran out or thought I wouldn't notice). I definitely think they were low on Mahi Mahi on "Taco Tuesday" which they did not want. It is very odd to have a bad taste in my mouth from Glory Days. I am quite disappointed. I am not really sure what they are trying to do. Two stars for the food my family ate. They did not order tacos (one salad with grilled chicken, one cheese burger), Also the server was good but not very attentive. read more

8/29/23 food was good as usual, the manager, however David with his haircut shorter hair is a total prick and made fun of my wife for not being able to open the door on the way out because he's a total douche bag, we love blaze, outside of the total drunks at the bar everything was good, however, we love Sarah.
